Dork Nation for Obama

About three months ago, the current economic crisis hit home pretty hard, as due to state government budget concerns, I was laid off. I had a plan already in place, so albeit a few months late, I'm back in the saddle (with a raise to boot!)

I got a first hand taste of what the future may be like for thousands of my peers and people all across America.

The bailout bill is an emergency plan that may restore confidence to Wall Street, but will hardly assist any of the thousands in fear of a recession or worse. That's why this plan must have an economic stimulus plan along side going forward. McCain offers nothing in terms of real stimulus, only the same old trickle down, voodoo economics of  Regan and Bush. Look where that's gotten us. 

Though it's been clear from readers of Dork Nation where I've stood on this candidate, I've been doing a lot of talk. My "vacation" gave me the time to get back to retail politics where I started my professional career, phonebanking, registering voters, building coalitions. However, I was locked into the old school of fundraising, calling on fat pockets to write a check, when the answer was at my finger tips. 

So,

If you know someone who has been given a slip by their employer, donate.

If you believe that the bailout bill is a weak notion without an economic stimulus plan, donate. 

If you want to restore confidence to not only the investment bankers, but the bank down the street, donate.
