Obamacats ! NOTE: Another update -- Please donate in memory of all the animals Sarah Palin has harmed in her lifetime! NOTE: Since I first posted this fundraising page a week or so ago in honor of “Political Animals” like my cats, our dearest little friend Romeow (pictured on my blog page and in the last photo on the right---the black/white kitty) has passed away of heart disease. My husband and I are beyond bereft, but I am trying to channel some of Romeow’s wonderful energy back into the Obama campaign. Please support Obamacats if you can! Thank you…….. THE FIERCE URGENCY OF MEOW! Fun Fundraising Idea for Political Animals & Their Friends! Can you contribute one dollar or more in honor of each of your pets (or former pets, or future pets, or other people’s pets you like, or all the animals in shelters around the country, or in zoos, or or or or etc.)? Animals have great instincts for identifying good humans and so they love Barack Obama! Below I have copied a lovely little news item I found online. Please help! This fundraising page is sponsored by my five cats (pictured in this order): Ziggy Stardust, Cherry Pie, Iris, Ginsberg, and Romeow. (In case you're wondering, they have donated all of their allowances already, but not to this page, which they just thought up today!) Many thanks, Obamacat
Obama Pledges Support for Animal Rights January 16, 2008 HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Democrat Barack Obama says he won't just be a president for the American people, but the animals too. "What about animal rights?” a woman shouted out during the candidate's town hall meeting outside Las Vegas Wednesday after he discussed issues that relate more to humans, like war, health care, and the economy. Obama responded that he cares about animal rights very much, "not only because I have a 9-year-old and 6-year-old who want a dog." He said he sponsored a bill to prevent horse slaughter in the Illinois state Senate and has been repeatedly endorsed by the Humane Society. "I think how we treat our animals reflects how we treat each other," he said. "And it's very important that we have a president who is mindful of the cruelty that is perpetrated on animals."
