Hi everyone.  Jarred here.  I am supporting Barack Obama in his campaign to become the next President of the United States of America.  Thank you for coming to this page to read about why I've made that decision.  I hope by the end that you will have the audacity to hope by giving him your vote and support as well.

You all know me.  You all know that when I get very excited about something, that means that it means a great deal to me personally.  Know this: I'm excited -- fired up? -- about Barack Obama.

I consider myself fairly centrist and politically independent, and decided that in this election I would choose to support the candidate that not only offered a clear and novel vision for America, but the candidate that would also inspire a new generation of Americans engaged for change in our country and in our world.  We need a fresh infusion of energy, innovation, and thoughtfulness in Washington, D.C.  That is what Barack Obama brings to the table, and that is why he has my vote.

Like me, you may not agree with every one of Barack's ideas.  You may, in fact, have one or two major disagreements with his platform -- just like me.  But I believe that, more than anything, right now Americans need a way to feel good about being American again.  We need a leader in the White House who will restore our good name in the world.  We need someone who can bring Republicans, Democrats, and independents together in a broad coalition to change America for the better.  We need Barack Obama in the Oval Office, we need him there next January.  As he says himself: "our time for change has come."

Barack Obama is committed to changing the political process by building a campaign built on a broad base of support from ordinary Americans.  In that spirit, I have established a personal fundraising goal of $500 for myself, my friends, and family.  The contributions I made before I set this page up unfortunately are not included -- but my future contributions will be.

I would like to ask you to help me reach my goal.  I hope you will join me in Barack's movement, and hope you will contribute whatever amount you can to help him retain his momentum and win both the nomination and the general election.  If you cannot give money, I hope you'll still decide to give him your voice and your vote.
