Over the years Barack and I have stood together fighting to give middle class Americans a better life. As Chairman of the Illinois House’s Higher Education Committee, I share Barack’s belief, and I champion the fight, to make college education affordable for all who desire it.  I proudly stand with Barack and Michelle in the belief that people should be able to attend college without being saddled with insurmountable debt.  As a Dentist, I share Barack's concern about the growing health care crisis facing middle class Americans.

Senator Obama is committed to ensuring Social Security is solvent and viable for the American people, now and in the future.  Barack will encourage the deployment of the most modern communications infrastructure to reduce the costs of health care, help solve our energy crisis, create new jobs, and fuel our economic growth.  Senator Obama will work to double funding for after-school programs; expand the Family Medical Leave Act; provide low-income families with a refundable tax credit to help with their child-care expenses; and encourage flexible work schedules. And, Barack is committed to changing the political process by building a campaign founded on a broad base of support of ordinary Americans.
