52 people. 20 bucks each. |

I've seen these fundrasing pages all over MyBarackObama, but I figured I could never drum up enough from my social circle to actually reach a thousand bucks. And then it dawned on me... get fifty people to donate $20 each. Seems easy enough. You're probably asking, "Why donate?" To answer, I could go on about Sen. Obama's policy proposals. I could speak about how Sen. McCain has turned his back on his principles by running an old-school politics campaign. I won't... because there're lots of places around the Intertubes you can get this information No, at this point in the game --- just a few short weeks from election day --- it's time for all of us to step up. If we're serious about changing the politics and policies in Washington, about having ordinary people like ourselves counted again, then it's time we do something. Don't get me wrong... I know there are lots of things that we as individual voters can do: knock on doors, talk to our neighbors, phonebank from home. All of these things are vital to this campaign. We're the ones driving it. I also understand not being able to commit the time to get out the vote. We're busy people and carving out a few hours a week is often a difficult task. My wife and I have a baby on the way --- due Inauguration Day --- so most of my off time is spent getting ready for the big event. As a result, volunteering for me and my wife is nearly impossible. Instead, I've donated to the campaign. Because I know you're also busy, I ask you to chip in a few bucks, too. If you think about it, $20 is a week's worth of Starbucks... or a stack of comic books... or this week's new bestselling novel, CD, or DVD release. If you've donated or are volunteering already, then that's great! The campaign and I thank you. And please consider doing so again. But if you haven't, take a moment to learn about how you can help Sen. Obama win the White House in November. The site's loaded with position papers, policy proposals, video replays of speeches... not to mention thousands of blogs by Obama supporters from all across America. In any case, if you're ready to give a little to create real change in Washington, use the donation tool right here on this page to make your $20 contribution today. Thanks! Rob P.S.
