Register Voters in Indianapolis - at the Outdoor Concert for Black Expo (Voter Registration Drive)
The most important action we can take this summer is bringing more people into the political process- making sure that every voter who wants to exercise their right is registered in our communities. Over the weekend of Friday July 15th to Sunday July 17th, supporters will hold voter registration drives and collect "I'm In" cards, centered around the Indiana Black Expo summer celebration being held in downtown Indianapolis. In particular, Saturday July 16th is a national day of action dedicated to voter registration. We’ll be doing our part on Friday evening (7/15/11) at the Music Heritage Festival Outdoor Concert at the American Legion Mall, from 5pm till 8pm (music starts at 6pm). This is one of the events for Black Expo. We need you and your neighbors to come out and join us. We will meet on the steps of the library at the north end of the Mall. We will provide clipboards, pens, voter registration forms, "I'm In" cards, instructions and some light refreshments. Although the concert starts at 6pm, people will be assembling earlier to get seats, so come at 5pm so we can maximize the use of our time!
