As the announcement says, it is "to bring our friends and neighbors together in conversation about our shared hopes and how we can change the direction of our country." "This campaign has always been about a new kind of politics, about recognizing that the bonds we share are stronger than we are led to believe. Whether we are Democrats, Independents or Republicans, we are Americans first and we need to come together at this critical juncture to solve our country's toughest challenges."
