GOTV in Wilkes-Barre, PA! (Drive for Change: Destination Pennsylvania)
Democrats have a lot of work to do in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This area was the one where Sen. Obama lost by the largest margin during the primary. Luzerne County went for Kerry by the razor-thin margin of 3%. And the McCain campaign mentioned both Luzerne and Lackawanna as the two counties they're counting on to win PA. As such, the stakes could not be higher!
This is for the MONDAY AND TUESDAY OF THE ELECTION. We'll be leaving the Upper West Side by carpool from outside P.S. 199 on W 70 Street at 7:30 am Monday and returning by 9:30 pm Tuesday. We’ll be working with the Obama campaign office to find free housing with a local supporter for those who need it, as well as providing information on affordable hotels in the area for those who prefer that option.
Please note that we will be renting multiple vans for this trip. There will be some transportation cost, but that is mostly subsidized. Of course, if you have a car and want to drive yourself, that’s more than fine – it’s encouraged!
