Give Blood for Health Care!!! (National Health Care Day of Service)
Okay, since I have to work Saturdays now, I thought this would be an easy Day of Service project for all of us! Plus, blood supplies are dangerously low. Blood Assurance in Cookeville is now located in the old Shelton's Jewelry location at 155 West Broad Street. See you there!
Blood Assurance is in critical need of type O positive and O negative blood donors. Anyone able to volunteer to donate blood is urged to do so as soon as possible. Blood Assurance needs at least 400 blood donations everyday in order to supply area hospitals. The current supply of O positive blood is at a less than one day level. O negative type blood is the type used in emergencies. Blood Assurance locations are open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. on Saturdays. Visitors to any Blood Assurance location or blood drive can register to win a 2009 Harley Davidson Sportster 883 Low motorcycle. Drawing for the Harley will be held on July 10 at Thunder Creek Harley's Sundown Concert. And all blood donors receive a black Harley style tee shirt while supplies last!
