Promote & Share Healthy Locally Grown Food (National Health Care Day of Service)
Volunteer to staff table at CUESA Ferry Plaza Farmers' Market. We will be spreading the word on President Obama's Health Care Reform goals and process AND collecting cash donations. The cash will be used to purchase locally grown produce from market vendors to be provided to St. Anthony's Dining Room (see www.stanthonysf.org).
By raising money to be used to provide produce from local farmers to hungry people in our community, we hope to show support for true reform of health care in America.
We need to rein in runaway costs of health care services and build a system of care focused on achieving and maintaining the health of all Americans. Promoting healthy eating and effective monitoring and protection of our air, land and water are important parts of a good health care system aimed at disease prevention.
