Sonoma for Obama Inaugural Ball (Meeting)
Black-tie attire definitely will not be required at Sonoma's inaugural ball. The celebration will feature a big-screen TV beaming live images from Barack Obama's inauguration celebration in Washington, D.C., along with music by the Berry Brothers Band, dancing, dinner, a raffle and a no-host bar.
The Bear Flag Social Club is organizing the event in conjunction with the Sonoma Valley Democratic Club, Noma Girl Events and Rocket Cafe and Catering.
The evening will kick off with optional dinner seatings at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. For those who prefer a purely liquid supper, the no-host bar will open at 6 p.m. Music and dancing will begin at 7 p.m. The event is open to all ages.
Tickets for dinner and dancing cost $30, include a commemorative wine glass, and must be reserved in advance through Rocket Cafe and Catering, 18816 Sonoma Hwy., Sonoma, (707) 939-8612.
Admission to the ball without dinner costs $10, and tickets may be purchased at the door as well as in advance at Pharmaca, 303 W. Napa St., Sonoma, (707) 938-1144; Sonoma Valley Music, 521 Broadway, Sonoma, (707) 996-2196; or Readers Books, 130 E. Napa St., (707) 939-1779.
