Harnessing The Tech Economy in Oregon (Official Event)
Financial crises and housing bubbles have undermined the economy and left many Americans more worried than ever about their current and future finances. But with Barack Obama's leadership and policies, technology and innovation can provide the economic engine for recovery, job growth, and a more stable future for Oregon. The Portland State University Democrats are pleased to present a roundtable discussion on how an Obama Administration would help Oregon take full advantage of technology-based opportunities to create jobs and prosperity in communities across the state. Join Congressman David Wu, Chairman of the House Science and Technology Subcommittee on Technology and Innovation as he moderates a discussion with former Google Head of Special Initiatives Chris Sacca, Danese Cooper from Intel and the Open Source Initiative, Sam Blackman, CEO of Elemental technologies and Brian Behlendorf, co-founded CollabNet a collaborative software company, and the Apache Software Foundation.
