National Obama Peoples Ball of Prince George's County (Meeting)
Monday, January 19, 2009 will be the Official Semi-formal, Black Tie optional Gala for Prince George's County celebrating the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the historic election of the 44th President-Elect, Barrack Obama!
President-Elect Barrack Obama is a man of the people, and for the people of the United States of America. His campaign was funded by every day people's grassroots support and this event will pay homage to those people in Prince George's County.
Many Inaugural Balls around the Metropolitan area will be very costly, and our goal is to include everyone who participated in making this Inauguration possible: the voters, canvassers, volunteers, YOU. I invite you to join at this exciting event in celebration of a King and New President.
On Martin Luther King, Jr's Birthday, two hundred fifty of Prince George's County's finest will gather to celebrate in elegant attire, at the La Fontaine Bleu in Lanham, Maryland.
The evening begins with a presidential stroll down the red carpet, as you are welcomed into the elegant ballroom by Obama girl of Comedy Calise Hawkins of "Last Comic Standing", and "Comedy Central" to lighten this joyous occasion. DC Native, Janine Gilbert-Carter jazz ensemble will sooth your soul throughout the evening, as you wine and dine from our select 3-course dinner menu, amongst special invited guests Congresswoman, Donna Edwards, MD Lt. Governor, Chief of Staff Earl Adams, Jr., and many more.
The Highlight of the event is the theatrical tribute to the King and Mr. President reflecting on the 40 year foresight of Robert F. Kennedy, the MLK dream, and Obama's historical election. A portion of the gala's proceeds will benefit the American Diabetes Association. Every guest in attendance will receive a gift to commemorate this moment while dancing and celebrating into Tuesday, January 20, 2009: The Inauguration of the 44th President of the United States, Barrack Hussein Obama!
