Political Book Club meeting (Meeting)
This is the fourth monthly meeting of our Valley for Obama Political Book Club. On the second Monday evening of each month, we meet and have dinner/coffee at the Aroma Cafe in Studio City and discuss the book of the month. We meet at 6:30 pm for dinner and then hold our discussion meeting from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. Our fourth book, for our July 13 meeting, is Tom Daschle's required-reading book, "Critical" about the health care crisis and what we can do about it. This Book Club is being done with the support of both the Aroma Cafe--which is reserving space in its back patio for our meetings--and the independent bookstore inside the Aroma Cafe, called Portrait of a Bookstore--which is offering 20% discounts on book club books purchased there. The "Critical" book, less 20% and tax included, costs $20.93. To order books there, just call 818-769-3853, say the magic words "Valley for Obama Political Book Club," and special order your book for pickup at the bookstore in just a couple of days or at the prior Book Club meeting. RSVPs for this event are required so the Aroma Cafe can reserve enough tables for us!
