Marrow Donor Registry Drive - HEART & SOLE 5K (Community Service)
...[HELP SPREAD THE WORD]...
Every day 6,000 patients search the national registry for an unrelated donor. These are patients who do not have a normal blood and/or immune system, including Leukemia, Lymphoma, Aplastic Anemia, Multiple Myeloma, and many other acquired and congenital blood disorders. Patients need a marrow or adult stem-cell transplantation to save their lives.

Joining the national registry is simple. All it takes is a consent form and a quick and painless swab of the cheeks. This determines your compatibility with a patient. This "match" process must be determined prior to donation.
...[BE THE ONE TO SAVE A LIFE. BE THE MATCH]...
As a volunteer at a marrow registry drive, you will help with any or all of the following:
(1) Convey to passersby the need for more donors
(2) Help with the forms and the swabs
(3) Talk to people about the two ways of donating--traditional or PBSC.
