11/1 - 11/4 *LGBT New Yorkers Canvassing in Philly's LGBT Community-Nov 1st thru Nov 4th. (Drive for Change: Destination Pennsylvania)
Get Out The Philly LGBT Vote! We are going down to the LGBT community in Center City Philadelphia (Philly) to canvass. We will meet at the Center City Campaign Headquarters office located 1500 Samson Street on the 4th Floor. The cross street is 15th Street. This campaign office also services the Chinatown, Italian-American and African-American communities. When you enter the office, just let them know what community you want to canvass. We will have a brief training on canvassing and followed by going out in pairs to knock on registered voters doors. This is by far the most effective way to turn out voters for Barack and it is a lot of fun. We will continue to go to Philadelphia on the bus each day from Nov. 1st thru Nov 4th election. The Philly Obama Campaign office is expecting volunteers starting at 9am thruout the day so I encourage volunteers to take the 7AM, 8AM, 9AM, 10AM, 11AM, NOON, 1PM or 2PM buses on Saturday thru the election. Buses leave from 88 East Broadway in Chinatown. The bus fare is $20 round trip. You can purchase a ticket upon boarding the bus or make an online reservation with Apex Bus at: https://www.apexbus.com/BuyTicket.aspx?from=2&to=3 When paying for the ticket online, you should receive an confirmation e-mail with your e-Tickets within 5 minutes. Print the e-Tickets and bring them with you to the bus. If you did not get the confirmation e-Ticket email, immediately send an e-mail to: sales@apexbus.com This IS NOT a private charter bus and anyone going to Philly can use it.
