GENERATION CHANGE Phone Bank - Recruiting volunteers for Food Drives to benefit the OC Food Bank (Community Service)
Our President-Elect Barack Obama has asked all campaign volunteers and supporters to participate in community service projects between now and January 20th (the Inauguration).
The OC Food bank desperately needs help due to a 19% decrease in donations. Their shelves were empty during the period just before Thanksgiving and many families who came to the food bank for help had to be turned away.
Generation Change (a group that has formed to create the change we voted for) has been conducting food drives in Orange County and we’ve raised over 20,000 pounds of food. We are hosting a Phone Bank this weekend to recruit new volunteers for upcoming food-drives and would love to see you there!
We will provide scripts and training (it's easy – we’ll be calling former volunteers and friends), and lunch will be served from 12:00 to 1:00. Please sign up for either the morning or afternoon phonebank shift and RSVP for lunch by signing up for that shift (12:00-1:00).
Be sure to bring your cell phone and charger to the event. If you're interested in joining the Data Team - please bring a laptop with Wireless Internet capability.
Whether your interest is in serving the community, working to affect legislative change or simply wanting to spend some time with like-minded people – you are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
