Join me on the southbound South Shore Line, Train #9, to take a ride to Gary (the Gary Metro Center station) and a short walk to the Gary Obama office, 201 East 5th Avenue, Suite E, Gary, IN 46402, (219) 488-7963. We will canvass and/or make phone calls to register voters and enlist volunteers. The train leaves Millennium Station at Randolf at 12:35 p.m., leaves Van Buren at 12:38, Roosevelt Rd. at 12:41, 57th St. (Hyde Park) at 12:49 and Kensington (115th St.) at 1:01. There are trains returning to Chicago at 4:34, 5:24 and 6:44. I will be boarding the train at 57th St. Look for a tall man, carrying a black cloth shoulder bag. We can rendezvous outside the Gary Metro Center station at ground level. Call (773) 684-6279 for further information. (Call (312) 401-3431 after 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.) NOTE: THE GARY OFFICE IS OPEN M-TH 9:00-9:00, F 9:00-7:00, AND WELCOMES VOLUNTEERS TO CANVASS OR MAKE PHONE CALLS THROUGHOUT THOSE TIMES. CANVASSING AND PHONE CALLING IS ALSO REGULARYLY SCHEDULED IN TWO SHIFTS ON SATURDAYS, FROM 10:00 to 1:00 AND FROM 1:00 TO 4:00, AND ON SUNDAYS AT 3:00. The office is a short walk from the South Shore Line Gary Metro Center station and, also, is very near I-90 EXIT 14B (the IN-53/Broadway exit) in Gary. Please travel out to Gary and contribute to the wonderful, beautiful, inspired and dedicated work the staff in the Gary Obama office is doing. Many more volunteers are needed there at all times, throughout the week. Illinois is surely blue. Let's turn Indiana!
