WHO?
Residents of Philadelphia and surrounding areas who support Senator Obama and his message of hope and change.
WHAT?
A local community service project to transform Senator Obama’s powerful message of change into tangible action by cleaning up our city streets while registering voters and spreading the Obama Buzz.
WHERE?
STARTING FROM from 22nd & Christian Streets:

WHY?
To quote Barack Obama: “WE are the change we’ve been waiting for.”
EVENT DETAILS:
We would like to invite you to participate in a grassroots campaign event here in Philadelphia called the “Obama Philly Sweep”. This event will be three distinct efforts rolled into one and they are as follows:
1. A community service-based event which will give back to our city while supporting our cause.
2. An informal voter registration drive serving new voters and those who wish to change their party status.
3. A traditional campaign event to attract publicity and Get Out The Vote for Obama.
As Barack has always stated this campaign is not about him, it is about us. It is not just a matter of putting a candidate in the White House, it is about supporting a common vision of a nation based on community. When ordinary people come together around a common purpose they can achieve extraordinary things!

Street parking is available in the surrounding area, but it is first come, first serve. The area is readily accessible via Septa bus routes 7, 40 or 64. You can also take the R1 or R2 or R3 regional rail line (exit at the University City stop) and walk down to 22nd and Christian. |
