Obama Works - Mayor Nutter's City-wide Clean-up Day (Community Service)
Let's show Philadelphia that Barack Obama is in the community making change!
We need to give Philadelphia a good Spring Cleaning! On April 5th, join thousands of your fellow citizens in neighborhoods across the city as we try to make Philadelphia a more beautiful place. We will meet at 6323 Woodland Avenue - Southwest Philly for Obama Office.
The Spring Cleanup will be a one-day event coordinated by Mayor Nutter's office, from 9am-2pm, with a host of cleaning and beautification projects throughout the city. Our intent is to fold in our Obama Sweep neighborhood cleanup efforts into this formal city-wide event and get some great visibility for Senator Obama's supporters out making a real difference in their communities!
We will have official Obama Sweep t-shirts for participants to for the event. To purchase a shirt, go here: http://obamaworks.spreadshirt.com/us/US/Shop/. Note: Obama Works does not get any proceeds from the sale of the shirts.
We want to make ourselves known at this great event which will receive a great amount of press coverage! Please learn more about Obama Works and our previous Obama Sweeps (with photos!) here at our website:

On April 5th our goals are to:
* Engage over 10,000 volunteers in a day of service
* Clean 5,000 residential blocks throughout the city
* Clean 50 commercial corridors along major thoroughfares
* Clean 10 neighborhood recreation centers in the community
* Clean 10 areas within Fairmount Park
* Remove over 1 million pounds of litter and trash from our city!
* Turn Barack Obama's message of real change from the ground up into reality! When coming together around a common purpose ordinary people can do extraordinary things!
When you RSVP please indicate your location in the city or where from out of town you are coming from. We will be coordinating groups of Obama supporters to participate in two high visibility clean-ups around the city. Each of these groups will be registered officially on the official Philly Cleanup Website.
