This month is OBAMA SUPPORTERS, HELP YOUR NEIGHBOR MONTH!
Jim Pugh thought that it would be a great idea for Obama Supporters to get out and show how we support Barack Obama’s vision of change and that change will start with us. I think it's a great way to revitalize those that are feeling a little tired and a little disheartened by the negative press.
SO LET’S GIVE THE MEDIA SOME POSITIVE PRESS THEY CAN’T IGNORE!
1. Organize Groups
2. Find local places where you can go and “Help Your Neighbor” (Stuff eggs for Easter Egg Hunts, Join Soup Kitchens, Plant flowers for an elderly neighbor, Have a book drive, etc.)
3. Tell the media
4. Wear your Obama Gear!
5. Feel free to talk to others about Obama, register voters & keep up the momentum
6. HAVE FUN!
7. Feel Free to Make a WE THE PEOPLE Video While your working together
8. Contact me where you are Helping Your Neighbors so I can keep a tally to share with the Barack Obama Campaign & the Press

Hi everyone,
I recently had an idea for how we can help to advertise the Obama campaign in a very positive way. Instead of spreading Obama awareness using traditional campaign methods (candidate signs, cold calls, etc), we can get Obama's name out there by actually making a difference in our communities. The idea is to organize various community service activities with an Obama theme to them. For example, we could pick up garbage in our local park wearing Obama t-shirts and hats, or we could organize a food drive with Obama logos on the collection boxes. These kinds of activities would be helpful in several different ways:
- improving our local communities
- positive advertising for the Obama campaign
- definitively showing fellow citizens that, even before the elections, the Obama movement is
already making real change in our country
Community service activities are well-suited for a grassroots campaign like this one, since they can be organized and run at a very local level.
This could work especially well on college campuses, where there is so much Obama excitement amongst students. The Obama online social network could be a great tool for putting together these activities, since it makes it so easy for us to get in contact with fellow supporters and organize events. If we're willing to put in the effort, I think that Obama Community Service could be a big benefit to this campaign.
After all, we are the ones we've been waiting for.
