Yard Sale (Fundraising)
Yard sale: Saturday, August 16, 8 am to 12 or 1 pm at Johnnys, 901 West Main St, Carrboro. We have collected a TON of really great stuff for men, women, young, and old! We have furniture, household items, clothing (including an entire trunk of brand-new African clothing), purses, bookbags, books for adults and kids, doodads, exercise equipment, nails (yes, a huge box with an assortment of nails!). We have many new and like-new items, plus older stuff accordingly priced. If you are new to the area and need to furnish your home or you just like a bargain, this is the place for you. Come out and make a morning of it. Have some coffee from Johnnys coffee/pastry shop, take a look at Brian's selection of handmade metal furniture and yard art, and check out his nursery plants for sale. Or get a cold drink from the Mexican shop in the front of the building, or a made-to-order crepe from the crepe wagon (10% of crepe profits that day will be donated to the Obama campaign). Obama bumper stickers will be for sale. And you can register to vote or change your voter registration. If you would like to volunteer at the sale, please e-mail Maureen at m_kurtz@bellsouth.net. Donations are still being accepted. Drop off small items any time at Maureen's house, 204 Davie Rd, Carrboro. You can call first, 933-8417, or simply come over. If no one is home, leave them on the porch (with your name if you wish).
