Utah Voting Rules

Voter Registration Form:
Forms can be found here.

Deadline to Register:
This form must be postmarked at least 30 days (October 5th) before an election or be presented in person to the county clerk at least 15 days (October 20) before an election for you to be eligible to vote in that election. If you register less than 30 days before an election you may only vote on Election Day and not during early voting.

Voter Eligibility:
Must be a citizen of the United States, have resided in Utah at least 30 days immediately before the next election, and be at least 18 years old on or before the next election.

Identification Requirements:
Proof of residency (ex. Driver’s license, utility bill).

Where to Turn in Your Registration:
A your County Clerks Office.

How to Register Others:
You are permitted to register others and mail/turn in their registrations for them. They must be in by the Registration Deadline. This is the only requirement.

Absentee Voting:
Absentee voting is available. No excuses are required.
Begin the Application Process
Dates: Application Due Friday before Election Day (October 31).

Early Vote:
Early Vote is available. It begins 14 days before election (October 21). No excuse is required.
