National Health Care
Day of Service

President Obama has said that working as a community organizer on the south side of Chicago was the best education he ever had -- and from the moment he decided to run for President, he guided his campaign with the understanding that real change always starts from the bottom up. It all begins with people like you, serving your country and your community.

Why Service?

Organizing for America seeks to activate a volunteer base across the country to advocate for the President’s policy agenda while building a sustainable grassroots volunteer organization on the ground. Service projects are a great way to achieve both of these goals. Right now we're organizing for real health care reform, so we encourage you to create a service project related to health care.

A sustainable grassroots organization is a product of healthy, vibrant communities. Service projects build and strengthen our local communities and help us further the President’s goals by making us more effective advocates.

Please get started creating a service event by entering your zip code on the right.

When we know -- and connect with -- the people most directly affected by the policies and programs we’re trying to change, we grow even more empowered to change our neighborhood, our politics, and our country for the better.
