Welcome to Small Business for Obama

Small businesses have long been the engine of our country's economic growth. Yet, for the past eight years, our needs have been neglected and ignored, despite the fact that small businesses comprise over 25 million enterprises and over 99% of employers in the country. We are a diverse group, representing everything from start-up ventures to family establishments and from small Midwestern farms to minority-owned metropolitan businesses. Regardless of region or industry, our needs are largely the same: we struggle with the rising cost of providing healthcare to our employees; with finding affordable access to capital; and dealing with the Bush Administration’s current policy framework that stifles innovation and inhibits our entrepreneurial drive.

We are members of the small business community who refuse to accept the status quo. Energized and inspired by Senator Obama's vision for our businesses and for our America, we pledge to unite our families, colleagues, and our local small business communities behind his bid for the presidency. We intend to add to the collective nationwide movement for change by acting as leaders in our respective small business communities.
