Missouri Voting Rules
Voter Registration Form:

Deadline to Register:
5pm on the 4th Wednesday prior to the election (Oct 8, 2008).
Voter Eligibility:
In order for an individual to vote in Missouri they must: be at least 18 years of age by Election Day; be a US citizen; be a Missouri resident; not be confined under a sentence of imprisonment; not be on probation or parole after the conviction of a felony; not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor connected with voting or the right of suffrage.
Identification Requirements:
Individuals do not have to submit any ID with voter registration, but must bring form of ID to the polls. Forms of acceptable ID include: identification issued by the state of Missouri, an agency of the state, or a local election authority of the state; identification issued by the United States government or agency thereof; identification issued by an institution of higher education, including a university, college, vocational and technical school located within the state of Missouri; a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government document that contains the name and address of the voter; driver’s license or state identification card issued by another state.

How to Register Others:
In order to register others, one must fill out the Registration Form for Voter Registration Solicitors. This form can be found here.

Absentee Voting:
Absentee voting is available. Excuses are required.
Excuses: Registered voters may vote absentee for the following reasons: absence on Election Day; incapacity or confinement due to illness or physical disability, including caring for a person who is incapacitated or confined due to illness or disability; religious belief or practice; employment as an election authority or an election judge at a location other than your polling place; or incarceration (provided voting rights are retained).

Applications should be returned to the voter’s local County Clerk’s Office. For a list of County Clerk’s Offices click here.
If planning to vote absentee, voters must submit a copy of ID with absentee application.
Applications must be received by 5pm on the Wednesday prior to the election (Oct 29, 2008). Absentee ballets must be turned in to your local County Clerk’s Office by 5pm the day before the election (Nov 3, 2008).
Early Vote:
No early voting is available.
