Where do I vote?

Vote where you are registered. If you moved within the same county before October 6th, 2008 you should vote at the polling location for your new address.

Problems at the polling place?

If you have registered by the October 10th deadline, you have the right to vote even if your name is not on the voter list. If a poll worker says you are not registered, you should ask the election official if you are at the right polling place or call 877-NC-4CHANGE (877-624-2426). If you are at the correct polling place but your name is not on the rolls, ask for a provisional ballot.

If anyone questions your right to vote, don't leave the polling place without voting a regular or provisional ballot. Afterwards, be sure to tell an Obama Voter Protection volunteer or call 877-NC-4CHANGE (877-624-2426).

Poll workers cannot ask you about personal financial matters. You have the right to vote no matter whether you have unpaid bills; parking, speeding or other tickets; overdue taxes; or a home under foreclosure.

Disabilities, age or medical concerns?

If you are sick or disabled and cannot go to the polling place, you can have a close relative ask for an emergency ballot in person at your county board of elections. If you are elderly or have disabilities, you also have the right to vote curbside from your car, or have someone assist you at the poling place.
