RUMOR:

You can’t request an absentee ballot after Wednesday, October 29.

FACT:

Wednesday was the last day to ask for a ballot to be mailed to you. But you can still ask someone you trust, like the Obama campaign, to pick up a ballot for you from your Supervisor of Election. Fill out this form to give to them.

 

RUMOR:

You can’t vote if you haven’t received your official voter registration card. This is false.


FACT:

If you registered by October 6, you can vote. To be sure you are registered, call your county Supervisor of Election.


 

RUMOR:

It is not safe to early vote or to vote by mail (sometimes called "absentee" voting). This is false.


FACT:

Your early vote or vote by mail ballot is secure and will be counted. To find your polling location or request a ballot go to voteforchange.

 

RUMOR:

You can’t vote unless your current address is on your ID when you go to vote. This is false.


FACT:

The address on your driver's license and registration address do not have to match. Officials only need your ID to verify the photo and signature. MORE

If you're a registered Republican, you can't vote for Obama/Biden. This is false.


FACT:

Any registered voter can vote for anyone for any office in a general election. Vote Obama-Biden!

 

RUMOR:

You can’t wear your Obama button or T-shirt while voting. This is false.


FACT:

Voters can wear a campaign button or T-shirt. Only campaign workers/officials can’t, within 100 feet of the poll. MORE

 

RUMOR:

After you vote for Obama, you need to vote a “straight Democratic ticket” or your vote for president won’t count. This is false.


FACT:

There is no “straight ticket” option at all in Florida.
