The Black Holocaust is one of the more underreported events in the annals of human history. The Black Holocaust makes reference to the millions of African lives which have been lost during the centuries to slavery, colonization and oppression. The Black Holocaust makes reference to the horrors endured by millions of men, women, and children throughout the African Diaspora. In sheer numbers, depth and brutality, it is a testimony to the worst elements of human behavior and the strongest elements of survival.
Yet no monuments have been made and apologies have been few. Worse still, most of the descendants of those who suffered, struggled and died, are unaware of this Holocaust while others seek to ignore it. One can only imagine the terrible damage placed upon the psyche of a people who seek to ignore or forget the tragedies of their past.

It seems that there's serious desperation on the parts of Arab racist & Muslim fascist propaganda machine, wether originating from 'Palestinian' Pallywood or using the Arab "palestinians" to further the radical Jihadization of their people by the false perception of being the "victim".

Not so long ago it was the usual tirade of terminology like: "massacres", translation, each time the Arab Palestinian butchers (in the name of bigoted Islamism and and/or racist Arabism) failed, or rather succeeded in causing civilian casualties, the Zionists are automatically blamed for the deaths, the higher the civilian casualties, higher is rated their propaganda, such "massacres" have been orchestrated for years.

Then it grew to the term "genocide", it doesn't help how careful Israelis are to minimize civilian casualties by notifying civilians to leave and by risking young soldiers' lives in going door to door on a selective mission to root out terrorists, Israel was, still is, blamed for Palestinians dirty tricks to cause casualties, seeing that the term "massacre" is no longer "fresh", the "genocide" slogan started to appear more and more on 'Palestinian', Islamic mainstream media.

The latest "bombshell" they came up with, all in an attempt to "shock" us is shouting: "Holocaust", translation, Israel's fight against Arab Muslim genocidal campaign in a clear set out goal of total annihilation, is branded so "atrocious", labeling that unique crime title on cowardice (their powerful weapons, which Israel does NOT have are the women and children they hide under) Palestinian (or Hezbollah) lost battles.It entails a few fascist points, First: it seeks to dramatize the fallen as if it is not a battle but a "cold blooded campaign", second: it seeks to diminish the uniqueness of that most outrageous crime in history, that of WW2 (where there was a clear plan to erase an entire creed from the face of the earth, there were no attacks from Jews upon Germans, nor were there any "battles" between the Nazis and all the 6 million or the 1.5 Million Jewish kids slaughtered only for pertaining to a certain origin), third: it seeks to hurt feeling of ALL Jews in the world.

Why? You ask? because they hate, because their hatred of the "other", in particular of the one that is neither all Arab nor all Muslim but pluralistic democracy (though primarily a shelter for Jews seeking refuge), this tiny innocent "entity" in the middle east is too "different" from the Arab Muslim reign of racism, bigotry.

The only silver lining in it is that, they have used up all our sensitivity by now, there's no room for more drama since they have pretty much "used" it all, including the ultimate word though so ridiculously in even mentioning it on their desperation in between their lost attacks on innocent Israelis.

I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Rabbi Arnold Jacob Wolf, who was not just our neighbor, but a dear friend to Michelle and me. We are joined in this time of grief by the entire Hyde Park community, the American Jewish Community, and all those who shared Rabbi Wolf's passion for learning and profound commitment to serving others. Today we bid farewell to a titan of moral strength and a champion of social justice.

Rabbi Wolf always remained true to the meaning of being a rabbi: he was a teacher. He took great pleasure in delving into Judaism's ancient texts, drawing out lessons about right and wrong, and inspiring young people to engage the world and strive to improve it. He transformed the historic tradition into a catalyst for Tikkun Olam - the sacred pursuit of repairing a broken world in our own time He taught us by example that we must pray not just with words, but with deeds - and that we must truly live the meaning of "love thy neighbor as thyself."

In the great Rabbinical tradition, Rabbi Wolf was passionate and provocative in this work - and my conversations with him were always lively. You knew that if he disagreed with you, he would let you know in no uncertain terms - especially if he thought you were overlooking the moral dimensions of an issue, or rationalizing your own failure to live up to the highest moral principles. But he did it with kindness, and often with a smile or a laugh to let you know that even though you were just plain wrong, and had no idea what you were talking about, he still loved you.

Rabbi Wolf's commitment to justice started early in life. As a young rabbi serving at a turbulent time for our nation, he was determined to fight discrimination of any kind, and his involvement in the Civil Rights movement alongside Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel helped strengthen the bonds between the Jewish and African-American communities.

Rabbi Wolf embarked on an historic experiment with the founding of Congregation Solel on Chicago's North Shore. Solel, which means "trailblazer," describes him well. He was proud to have Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as an honored guest speaker. He was among the first to introduce to Chicago the writings of Elie Wiesel and Holocaust studies. And he never shied away from controversy or challenge when he saw an opportunity to advance the cause of freedom throughout Chicago and in Jewish homes and classrooms across our country, Rabbi Wolf's name is synonymous with service, social action, and the possibility of change. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, an engaging teacher, a kindhearted shepherd for the K.A.M. Isaiah community, and a tireless advocate of peace for the United States, Israel and the world.

And I will always be personally grateful for the support he showed me as I embarked on my own journey. In a piece Rabbi Wolf wrote on my behalf months ago, he wrote that he was proud to be my neighbor and that he hoped to someday visit me in the White House. In the end, however, the honor was all mine. And while he may not have lived to pay that visit to the Oval Office, I hope that his spirit of love, his love of learning, and his deep dedication to serving others will live on in the work I do each day. May his memory be a blessing and a comfort to us all and an inspiration for the generations to come.

Holocaust's unholy hold

The deeper we are stuck in our Auschwitz past, the more difficult it becomes to be free of it.

Reporting from Nataf, Israel — Even today, when economic storms are shaking markets around the world, posing a threat to the stability of entire countries and societies, Israel continues to conduct its business far from the turmoil, as if swimming in a private ocean of its own. True, the headlines are alerting the public here about the crisis, and the politicians are hastily recalculating their budgets. But none of this is dramatically changing the way we think about ourselves.

To Israelis, these issues are mundane. What really matters here is the all-important spirit of Trauma, the true basis for so many of our country's life principles. In Israel, the darkest period in human history is always present. Regardless of whether the question at hand is of the future relations between Israel and our Palestinian neighbors in specific and the Arab world in general, or of the Iranian atomic threat and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, it always comes down to the same conversation. Every threat or grievance of major or minor importance is dealt with automatically by raising the biggest argument of them all -- the Shoah -- and from that moment onward, every discussion is disrupted............

Report: Auschwitz blueprints found in Berlin apartment

Original plans for the construction of the Nazi extermination camp of Auschwitz, including a gas chamber and crematorium, have been found in a Berlin apartment, a newspaper reported Saturday.

The daily Bild published copies of some of the 28 plans, which the head of Germany's federal archives, Hans-Dieter Krekamp, called "authentic proof of the systematically planned genocide of the Jews of Europe."

Bild gave no indication of where, when or by whom the plans were found.
It said they were dated between 1941 and 1943 and stamped, "Waffen-SS and Police Construction Directorate." Some were signed by senior SS officials and one initialled by the head of the Nazi ideological corps, Heinrich Himmler.

Kreikamp told the newspaper the documents were "extraordinarily important."

One plan, drawn by a detainee as early as November 1941, when experiments in eliminating prisoners were already under way, had a gas chamber clearly labelled, Bild said.

Another showed a crematorium with places for ovens marked, and storage space for bodies.

The "final solution to the Jewish question", namely the extermination of Jews living in Nazi-occupied Europe in what became known as the Holocaust, was decided by officials of Adolf Hitler's regime in January 1942 at a conference in the Berlin suburb of Wannsee.

More than one million Jews, gypsies and others deemed "subhumans" by the Nazis were killed at Auschwitz, near the Polish city of Kracow, out of a total six million slaughtered up to the fall of the regime in 1945.

Advancing Soviet troops liberated Auschwitz in January 1945, but camp authorities had blown up the gas chambers, and Holocaust deniers have claimed there was no proof of the camp's purpose.

Could Fox News Start Another Holocaust?

Dear Friends/family/acquaintances,

I wrote this with many of you in mind, and I am sharing it with as many other people as I can find. I am not mentioning any names here. Those of you who watch Fox national "news" will recognize I am talking to you, and those of you who don't, will recognize my public warning to all.

I am so worried about this country, I don't know what else to do.

I know that the vast majority of my friends, and millions of people like me, would never take Fox national "news" seriously (I am not talking about the local stations here, but the national one on cable). We know that it is entertainment, and we know that the Fairness in Media act does not apply to it because it is cable. With the deregulation of the airwaves and media these last eight years, anything goes. We know that Fox "news" is deliberately extremely biassed to the right, and that its content is designed to get people to support the interests of big business and to to be brainwashed against their own self-interests. We know that they deliberately slander anyone who advocates for the "little guy", because that undercuts the profits of the corporations who pay them to throw their mud. We know no intelligent person would ever think it is "fair and balanced". How could they possibly???????

But they do. Millions and millions of millions of Americans, who still have not gotten the memo that it is merely "entertainment" rather than real news. Millions and millions and millions of people who actually think that because they say the words, "fair and balanced", they actually aspire to be so. I am concerned that if the large corporate interests that give the world Fox news ever wanted to commit a Holocaust, or witch trials, or massive public lynchings, or something as evil as these things, they could seriously get away with it.

I sometimes make myself watch Fox "news", although I know that I will get upset watching it after a very short time. I make myself watch it because I firmly believe I should "keep my friends close, and my enemies closer". So, I force myself to watch it, and I imagine myself getting all of my "News" from this station. If I did, I would probably become very paranoid. I would think liberals and unions were nuts, and minority members were evil. Every "news" story is presented, edited, and exaggerated from that angle. Every story, twenty-four hours a day (I know that because I have watched it all night at times.) The same corporate lies are presented all night long, just like they are during the day.

Lately, I have been sickened by the whole ACORN story, for example, because it is so heavily sensationalized. The lies are fantastic. There were 8 or 9 "news" stories about this, or mentions of it, every hour on Fox "news". Never mind that every credible, sane, unbiassed agency has said that this story is not accurate, and that the lies have been hugely distorted. Fox "news" says it is true, so millions of Americans think it is true.

I recently shared my concerns with an intelligent male friend of our family. This man is a college graduate, has a job with a great deal of responsibillity, and has a great family with several children. He is a mildly religious person, pays his taxes, and is a good all-around citizen. Even though this man in intelligent, I was the first person who told him Fox "news" is not real news. Two weeks later, he said to me, "I have to admit, I did start to notice after awhile that what you are saying is true. Fox is the only "news" station that perpetuates the "stories" they report. All of the other stations are very different. I did not realize that until you pointed it out to me.

What do we do? Imagine if Hitler owned a tv station on cable, and used "news" anchors that were always emotionally charged like the ones on Fox "news". Psychological research shows that when information is presented in ways that evoke emotion, it is remembered more easily, and people are more inclined to act on that information. Fox "news" does this in every segment. If Hitler wanted to motivate people to kill others, he would certainly have started using Fox "news" had it been available to him. Their method of delivering lies and distortions would have made the job easy and effiicient.

"People are too smart for that", some of my friends tell me. These are the same friends who say they do not understand where all of the irrational sentiment is coming from about Barack Obama, or why people bring monkey dolls to McCain/Palin rallies. They don't understand why people are falsely being accused of being "terrorists", and why violent racist acts are increasing all over this country.

But I do understand it, because I have many dear friends and relatives who watch Fox "news", and watch it regularly. They cannot be the only fifteen or twenty people who do. They are religious and secular people alike, peopje who have jobs and families, pay their bills, and are otherwise good citizens, and great people. Not only do they watch it, they believe it, and they don't even question what they are watching. They truly believe that watch they are watching is "news".

I am very worried about this country. I am worried that millions of Americans are psychologically addicted to a "news" source that constantly plays on their emotions, brainwashes them, and feeds them lies about the world. I am worried that if Fox news had any other agenda than their current one of getting people to vote against their own economic best interests, they have enough believers, and they could do pretty much anything they wanted to do, and a sizeable minority of the population would simply follow their suggestion. This is how Hitler attempted to take over the world. Who is the next Hitler? Does he watch Sean Hannity?

There is a saying, "If we don't know history, we are destined to repeat it". One of the most significant events that led up to the Holocaust was the German economy collapsing. Germans needed a scapegoat for their fear.

You may laugh at this suggestion, however, let me remind you of two recent news stories. In one, a man who regularly watched Fox news (books written by some of their frequent guests and anchors were in his home in prominent places), walked into a Unitarian church during a children's pagaent, and murdered a number of people, wounding many more. He said he did it because he hated liberals, gays and black people. This man left a letter saying he had just lost his job and needed a scapegoat.

A month later, a similar story happened when an unemployed man shot the leader of the Democrats in Arkansas.

Even more concerning than just the occasional crazy people who are pushed into acting on their impulses, I am worried about the complacency of the majority. Most of the people who read other newspapers and who know how insanely biassed Fox "news" is, don't recognize the danger in ignoring them. They are not remembering the lessons of the Holocaust. They do not do anything about the daily brainwashing by Fox "news", except to shrug it off and say with a smile, "Come on, people are smarter than that".

Smart people killed millions of Jews, gypsies, academics, homosexuals, developmentally disabled people and others in the Holocaust, too, and not that long ago. Other smart, decent people saw it coming and did nothing.

Pass this on if you care about this country. Or don't. The choice is yours. I hope we don't regret our complacency later.

He Is Not Like Us

Sarah Palin has been telling anyone who will listen that Barack Obama is "not like us." The Republican rallies are becoming increasingly venomous. Barack Obama's middle name--Hussein--is used as a slur, to prove his differentness, and to foster the idea that he somehow has ties to the Arab world, and by extension, terrorism. It's working. Audience members shout that he should be killed, that he is a terrorist. Even uniformed police officers, who should know better, fan the flames.

Speaking for McCain, Michael Goldfarb berated Obama's sentiment inscribe in the visitors' log at the Israeli Holocaust Memorial Yad Vashem. The McCaine spokesperson said, "Today he says 'never again.' A year ago stopping genocide wasn't a good enough reason to keep U.S. forces in Iraq. Doesn't that strike you as inconsistent?" McCain has fail to renounce Goldfarb's comment made on his behalf.

A year ago, Obama indicated that United States cannot use its military to solve the world's humanitarian problems. If McCain believes that it IS the United States' duty to use our military to stop humanitarian genocides, then why hasn't McCain pushed for military intervention elsewhere. Iraq reportedly was responsible for the genocide of almost 25,000 Kurds in 1986-88. A horrible number, but not as great as elsewhere in countries where McCain failed to support US intervention.

Indonesia killed over 100,000 Papuans, but McCain never suggested US military intervention in West New Guinea for humanitarian reasons. Mengistu killed over half a million in Ethiopia, but McCain never suggested US military intervention for humanitarian reasons. Since we have been in Iraq, the Congressional Human Rights Caucus report by Rep. Tom Lantos and Rep. Frank Wolf reported on some of North Korea' genocides, "Hundreds of thousands of North Koreans have crossed the border into the Peoples Republic of China....China's policy has been to repatriate defectors back to North Korea where they face imprisonment, torture, and execution for the "crime" of leaving their homeland.". This is only of of North Korea's genocides. US Congressmen attended the North Korean Genocide Exhibition in 2004. The US Committee for Human Rights in North Korea, issued a report in 2003. He reported "extreme phenomena of repression ... unique to North Korea." Korea practices "ethnic infanticide", forced abortions and murder of inter-racial babies ( North Korean and Chinese) to create babies with the pure blood of the "master race", North Korean. In neither case has McCain called for US military intervention for humanitarian purposes. The lists goes on and on where McCain has not called for US military intervention to stop genocides, Darfur, Tibet, Chad, and Zimbabwe.

Perhaps McCain doesn't understand Jesus' teaching in Matt 7:5, "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck of sawdust from your brother's eye."

Chapter 12

Three of Mrs. Downs’ history classes were reading about the

Holocaust. They were discussing the events that led up to War World

II. For the next six weeks, the classes would combine for two hours

in the media room.

Mrs. Downs looked at the children’s faces. This was a very

sensitive topic, but it was an important part of history. She wanted the

class to understand the depth of Hitler’ hatred and how he used that

hatred to manipulate a country and commit mass genocide.

She thought about recent hate crimes and knew that the potential

of a mass genocide was always possible, as long as people continued

to judge their neighbor based on their race, class, or religion. Children

that were considered outcasts, different from the main stream, were

responsible for several mass school killings. They were children in

pain. She thought if children could understand the consequences of

hatred and cruelty, a dialogue could help prevent another tragedy.

Mrs. Downs began her lecture. “Leading up to today’s lessons, we

have been discussing Hitler’s first failed revolt and how he used the

decline in the economy to turn Aryan individuals against the rest of the

population.

“Hitler took advantage of the German economic struggle to

convince the Aryan population that the Jews and other racial and

religious groups were responsible for their financial woes. He

promised more jobs, greater profits and a stronger army. He

convinced them that in order for them to be successful, they would

have to rule Germany and he would be their leader. Adolph Hitler took

office January 30, 1933 as Prime Minister of Germany.

“Hitler believed that the only group of individuals that should live

had blond hair, blue eyes, and were of Germanic heritage. These

people were called Aryans. He believed in racial purity, and

superiority of the German race.

“The Holocaust was not just about Hitler’s hatred of the Jews. His

genocide extended to Romanians, Serbs, Jehovah Witnesses,

Homosexuals, Communists, the elderly, handicapped, mentally ill,

beggars, Russian prisoners of war, Gypsies, African-German

children, and individuals born deaf and blind.”

Mrs. Downs concluded her talk by reviewing a bulleted time-line.

* March 1933- the first concentration camps were opened.
* May 10, 1933- Twenty-five thousand books with “un-German”

ideas were burnt. They included books written by Albert Einstein,

Sigmund Freud, Ernest Hemingway, Sinclair Lewis, Helen Keller and

many others.

* 1935- The Nuremberg Race Laws were passed declaring that

Jews were no longer citizens of Germany. Many of them were fired

from their jobs and ordered to sell their property and businesses to

Germans at lower prices.

* March 13, 1938- Hitler took over Austria
* November 9, 1938- Kristallnacht (The Night of Broken Glass)

SS members looted Jewish stores and homes. Synagogues were

burnt. Jews were murdered.

* September 1, 1939- Nazis invade Poland.
* May 1939- Voyage of St. Louis – Nine hundred and thirty-six

passengers escaping the Nazis were denied entrance into Cuba and

the United States. The ship turned back to Europe. Passengers sought

asylum in Belgium, Holland, England and France. Only the two

hundred and eighty-eight that sought refuge in England survived the

war.

* September 1, 1941- The Nazi killing squad executed four

thousand women and children, one million Jews and hundreds of

thousands of innocent people.

* November -1941- German army moved Jews to ghettos. They

were forced to wear armbands to identify themselves as Jews. Cattle

cars were filled with a hundred people at a time, killing them with

poisonous gas. Men were led into bathhouses where poison pellets

were dropped in through an opening in the ceiling. The bodies were

later burned. Others were shot and tortured.

* May 8, 1945- Germany surrendered. The Nazi’s had murdered

six million Jews, of which 1.5 million were children. thirty thousand

Gypsies, individuals born deaf and blind, five hundred African–

German children, Romanians, Serbs, homosexuals, communists, the

elderly, two hundred thousand handicapped, mentally ill, beggars, and

Russian prisoners-of-war.

Jennifer was in tears. “Mrs. Downs, how could this happen? Why

didn’t anyone help? Why did the United States deny the passengers

entrance into our country? We have immigrants from many countries.

Why did we let so many people die before we entered the war?”

The bell rang. Mrs. Downs hated to leave the class like this. She

called Jennifer to the front of the class after it was over and spoke with

her. She made sure she was okay, and wrote her a note to return to class.

“Class, quickly take your seats. We have two guests with us today,

Devorah Rosenberg and Maria Manning, both survivors of the

Holocaust. Children, please welcome our guests. I will let each visitor

introduce herself.”

“Good morning. First of all, thank you Mrs. Downs, for inviting me

to tell my story.

UNHEARD VOICES

“I was born in Germany in 1925. I am Jewish. My father owned

a neighborhood bookstore. I had two brothers, Daniel and Aaron.

“Our lives were filled with joy until 1933 when Hitler took office.

Hitler blamed my people for all of the economic problems in Germany.

He ran on a platform based on hatred for any group that was not what

he considered to be the perfect race.

“At first, people continued to shop at our store. In March of 1933,

people were prohibited from buying from Jewish stores. That May,

Nazis broke into my father’s store, threw all the books into the street,

and burned them.

“My parents were brave. I heard them cry all night in their room.

My father had no other livelihood. We were barely surviving. Hitler

had opened concentration camps in Dacha, Germany not far from us.

I was afraid we would be next to leave our homes. My father was

trying to get us out of Germany. He still had a few connections.

“In 1935, a law was passed declaring that Jews were no longer

citizens of Germany. All Jews were fired from their jobs and forced

to sell their business and their property. The Nazis forced us to sell our

property for almost nothing. Our only hope of survival was to leave the

country.

“The Nazis came for my father and brothers first. I watched as

they put them in a freight car with many other people and drove away.

My mother and I ran after the car crying, knowing that it might be the

last time we saw the rest of our family.

“The car stopped down the road. At first we thought they had

changed their minds, and were going to allow them to stay with their

families. We waited for what seemed like hours, and then saw them

drag out dead bodies and load them onto a truck.

“My mother screamed. I collapsed in my mother’s arms not truly

understanding what had happened. My mother tried to get me away

from the scene before I saw my brothers and father’s dead bodies

dragged out onto the street. As I saw them bringing out my brothers,

I froze. I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. All I could see was

my brothers’ faces.

“The Nazis took the rest of us to the ghetto. My father had hidden

what little money we had to help my mother barter her way out of

Germany. It was a long wait, but finally we were smuggled out of the

country.

“By this time, there was no escape from Hitler’s reign. He had

seized most of Europe. We prayed that we would escape death at the

hands of the exterminators. We knew we could just as easily die from

starvation as execution.

“My mother was very ill and couldn’t hang on any longer. She

knew her fate, so she took her own life rather than die at the hands of

the Nazis.

“I was left an orphan. My aunt did her best to feed and care for me

as if I were her own. Many of the young girls were raped by the Nazis

and forced to work as their maids.

“That is how I survived until the end of the war. I cooked and

cleaned the gatehouse for my keep. I would sneak food back to the

camp for as many as I could help. After the war, I was able to leave

and come to the United States with my aunt. It was only then that I

was able to mourn the death of my family and many friends.”

As Mrs. Rosenberg told her story, the children saw tears in her

eyes. At certain moments she would pause, gather her composure,

and begin again. Jennifer went up to Mrs. Rosenberg and hugged her.

They just looked at each other as tears rolled down their cheeks. Mrs.

Downs gave Mrs. Rosenberg a few minutes before they continued.

Later, Mrs. Downs introduced Mrs. Manning. Mrs. Manning had

blue eyes and blond hair. She looked like the people that Hitler

described as “perfect.” Why was she here? Why was she a Holocaust

survivor?

“My name is Maria Manning. I am a Holocaust survivor. I was

born in Germany in 1925. My family and I are Jehovah’s Witnesses.

My father was a religious man. In our religion, we believe that all races

are equal in the sight of God. Jehovah’s Witnesses do not support any

movement motivated by racial or ethnic hatred.

“When Hitler took over as chancellor of Germany, my father was

one of the first to speak out. He would not support “Hitler’s campaign

of hatred.” We knew that the time would come when my father would

be forced to pledge his allegiance to Hitler or be arrested. We knew

my father would never join Hitler’s army.

“We continued to meet with other Witnesses and spread our word.

My mother wanted my father to hide, but he refused. My mother

would not support Hitler, but she wanted her family to be safe.

“Finally the day came that my father would make the ultimate

choice. The SS men banged on the door. They spoke with my father.

He refused to join the army and was arrested. He was labeled an

enemy of the state. My family was sent to a concentration camp. The

Nazis felt that in time they could break my father’s spirit.

“Five thousand, nine hundred and eleven Jehovah Witnesses were

arrested from 1933 to 1935. Over two thousand were executed. My

father and brothers were executed on March 24, 1934. I survived,

despite malnutrition and bad living conditions. It is as true now as it was

then, just like Mrs. Rosenberg, that my faith has sustained me.”

“Thank you so much for coming to our class Mrs. Rosenberg and

Mrs. Manning. If you don’t mind, the children have some questions.”

Rita raised her hand. “Mrs. Rosenberg, do you hate Germans?”

asked Rita.

“I won’t lie to you,” replied Mrs. Rosenberg. “The day I saw my

father and brothers murdered, I hated the Nazis with everything in me.

I wanted to kill them. Thank God my mother was a woman of great

faith. She would not allow me to retaliate. I finally realized that if I

continued to hate, then I was no better than my father’s executor.

“Mrs. Manning, I know that your dad was a religious person, but

you were a child. How did you feel about your father’s sacrifice? Did

you feel cheated?” asked Randy. “I mean if your dad had joined the

army, he might still be alive.”

“Although I was young,” replied Mrs. Manning, “I respected and

believed in the doctrine of the church. My dad was the head of our

household. If he had compromised his beliefs, then our religious beliefs

would have been founded on a lie. If my father had turned his back on

his religion to save his family, he would have been dead to himself. My

father would not have shot another man or pledged allegiance to Hitler,

even if it resulted in his own death.”

The bell rang and the children slowly exited the class. Jennifer

stood in the doorway thinking. It was too much information to process

at one time. The scariest part of the lesson was that even today there

are people that hate others based on their color, religion, or class.

People hated people just because they were different.

Mrs. Downs always said if we did not study history, it would repeat

itself. Would there be another Holocaust in our lifetime? She prayed. silently that we would learn

from our past.

This profound display of theological buffoonery approaches the outer limits of incredulity. This is the Mecca of relativism as regards scriptural interpretation. Jeremiah 16:16 has been related to the Egyptians of antiquity, the Chaldeans, the Persians, the Medes, and even the Apostles of Jesus. The reference to the holocaust is just one more addition to the litany of scriptural assessments that have amassed to cloud the original meaning in a lasting and eternal doubt. Whatever Jeremiah had in mind, we may never really know. The best take would be to relate something in the immanent future or recent past within the time of this prophet. That would favor the Egyptians or the Chaldeans. Taking it to the Hitler regime is going beyond the irrational to pure conjectural stupidity.

At the crux of this resounding idiocy lies the eternal bid to align a loving God with the existence of evil. Trying to legitimize a fallacy yields repugnance. What is even more repulsive about John Hagee's remarks is the mental captivity of the thousands if not millions of people who regularly listen and attend to this lunacy. As if there is no further to go, we have the ambitions of a man seeking the presidency of the United States driving this high office into associations that border on insanity, explained and excused by the pragmatism of national politics. Stranger bedfellows have rarely surfaced. Despite the belated rejection of Hagee's endorsement, John McCain exposed a sickly and dangerous rift in the fabric of human intellect bogged down by the ignorance of the masses which demands capitulation to the irrational dialogue of religious intransigence.

To signal the absence of an end in sight to this madness, Hagee goes yet another furlong by bringing in an aging Jewish "authority" to stand with him and rubber stamp the catastrophically ridiculous mix of the holocaust with the prophecy of Jeremiah. I thought that church and state were to be separate entities within the framework of a government dedicated to freedom of speech and protection from religious incursion. I still think that and shudder each time the ugly head of religious insolence rears itself in politics at the national level.

John McCain is not a religious fanatic seeking to trumpet his zeal to a spiritually thirsty constituency. He's at best a moderate looking to win a campaign. He, like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and anyone else seeking the office of president must find a connection to the hundreds of millions of Americans who live by faith one way or another. This violates Article 6 of the Constitution which shields office holders and seekers from any test of religion. Article 6 continues to be overlooked in elections which constantly demand from the candidates, a high profile salute to the seemingly immortal reign of religious intolerance.

So, tell me if I understand this right: it had to take resounding admiration of Adolf HItler and the Holocaust for John McCain to reject John Hagee's endorsement of his campaign? And this man says he has the judgment to be President ... or has he just been having a long senior moment? (Please, no offense intended to seniors!)

I originally brought up this subject earlier this month and judging by the comments and the public awareness, but I recently saw these comments played on Countdown and Verdict on MSNBC. So, I thought his would be a good time to revisit this critical issues. Please read the following message and spread the word to everyone you know. Hello all,

I don't know how you all feel about John McCain, but I'm pretty sure you find the Holocaust as one of the most horrific events in history. Well, I urge you to watch this video of John McCain supporter, John Hagee in which he claims that the Holocaust was a justifiable, God created event, through absolutely outrageous language that can not and should not be tolerated. John McCain actively sought out the support of Mr. Hagee throughout the Republican primary, and his willing association with a man who could make such comments says something very significant about his judgment. Please watch this video, take a stand and make the public aware of such a willing association, and such hateful speech.

May all of Senator Obama's supporters follow his example and actual words about the Holocaust, genocide, Israel, and anti-semitism. Barack Obama's official statement on May 2, 2008, Holocaust Remembrance Day:

"Today, we remember the light that was brought into the world by each of the six million Jews who lost their lives in the Holocaust, as well as the terrible darkness of the Nazi genocide. We also renew our commitment to combat the scourge of anti-Semitism everywhere, and to stand up against extremism and prejudice of any form.
Let us resolve to confront genocide and work to prevent mass atrocities, beginning with greater action to stop the killing in Darfur. And let us stand with the Jewish State of Israel, a strong and resilient democracy that emerged out of the shadow of the Holocaust, but which still has enemies that threaten its destruction.

My comment added to Senator Obama's statement in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day:

The word 'genocide' had to be invented to describe the enormity of the crime of the Holocaust. More than 10 million people were targeted for state-sponsored mass murder by the Nazis, including six million Jews as determined by 'racial heredity', not by religious practice. The other four+ million included Roma (gypsies), homosexuals, Slavs, communists, and many good people of Christian faith who tried to say no. I would like to remember the countries who took European Jewish refugees when no one else, including the United States, would: Sweden, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and China. I also want to honor the memories of all the righteous Christians of Europe who risked their lives to save their neighbors and friends, especially Raoul Wallenberg, the Swedish diplomat in Hungary who helped tens of thousands of Hungarian Jews, and then disappeared into Soviet prison camps.
