I firmly believe that the WASP members of the Silent Generation and older Baby Boomers are afraid that an African American will be elected to the high office of President of The United States of America.I believe that their fears lie in the thought that they may be punished for their thoughts,words and actions in the past,present and future.

For too many years the media and general population have preached political correctness and acceptence of all races as being one blood.I see the anger building in the Mid West and parts of the Good Old Boy Democratic South,particularly Florida.Fear is rising huge that a black man,not an American,but an African American will probably be the next president and with a landslide of 10% plus of the vote.

That day is almost here and then,and only then,can the healing of centuries old wounds on all sides begin to heal.I am so grateful that I was alive for such a momentus turning of the tide.How we as individuals handle this will determine the future of America.Are we the strong backbone of the world or are we just a bully that runs around the world preaching one thing and living another?

Most of you are too young to have lived through our own apartheid and I am here to tell you that it was a shameful time in our lives.Racism is alive and well today,it has just been relagated for the most part to the back of the closet.

Now is the time to fully examine our own motives,fears and goals for our children and to put aside any thoughts that someone who is different in color only ,is not capable of being a true American and capable of leading this country through these extrememly difficult times ahead.

For me it was never an issue to begin with and I am a baby boomer. My husband is a veteran and several of his veteran friends who served in the military for many years are voting for Obama as well. They are in their early 60ies as well. But when you have speeches that ctreate a mob mentality what can you expect to happen? So far it has not worked. I have always tried to be respectful to the other candidate but this time they have crossed the line. What worries me is that one unstable person will try to commit murder, being egged on by this mob. I go to the VA hospital and I ma here to tell you that the majority of the Veterans are not pro McCain and just because he was a POW,that doesn't make him a qualified candidate.That he has mental issues over his captivity are undeniable unless he is the one sole exception.I think that he needs to be honest with himself and his campaign in that issue and I would love to be able to look into his medical records and examine those issues.

His volatile temper is a great concern to me, also his Keating Five association. Many people are not familiar with that history. We care deeply about the future of this ountry and for anyone to even suggest if you don't vote for McCain you don't love this country is ludicrous. We have many Veteran friends as well who are not voting for McCain, one served in the Air Force AND Navy. He was a pilot. slavery was a big mistake by our leaders of the past, and we will always pay the price for that

Personally I don't care if the next president is green as long as he or she has the interest of the american people at heart

what we need now is to put the past behind us and come together as a nation or we will never have peace

thus far from what I have seen of McCain, he is a very bitter and angry man, I believe he does have deep rooted issues and that he needs to seek counseling to learn how to find peace within himself, and yes he is only hurting himself by bashing his rival

in any event I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens
