On Saturday September 27th, I decided to leave a little early from Lakeland Farmers and Flea Market to attend the Obama Rally and Voter Registration Drive at Lake Bonny Park in Lakeland Florida where Forest Whitaker was the celebrity guest speaker. In addition to displaying Obama flyers on the issues and providing useful information regarding early voting etc for local residents, I have been doing fundraising for Obama for America on saturdays at the market by requesting donations for my crocheted Obama hats, caps and other handmade creations.
Last Saturday September 20th, I also decided to leave the market a little earlier than normal and teamed up with another person to do three hours of door to door canvassing of unregistered voters in Lakeland. That allowed me to reach another group of people in another proactive way.
Similarly, attending the Obama Rally and Voter Registration Drive also gave me the opportunity to reach another segment of the population. By attending this event I was able to observe a younger and energetic crowd! The weather was beautiful and the youths were fired up. They were very enthusiastic!
Before heading to the stage where he made a significant but brief speech, Forest Whitaker stopped by the table where I had some of my handmade crocheted Obama hats and caps displayed. He commented that he liked them and had not seen any other hats or caps like those elsewhere. In a quick response, I mentioned that they are my own creations and I do them for fundraising for Obama for America. After leaving the rally, a young man who came to the event and was walking alongside Mr Whitaker in the entourage returned from the parking lot to the table and stated Forest Whitaker wanted to purchase one of the hats, but did not have time to do so earlier. I did not have any large sizes left, so the young man picked a small medium size crocheted Obama cap for Forest Whitaker.
I tip my hat to Forest Whitaker for all his great accomplishments on and off screen and for taking the time out to speak to the youths. They are the future.

As we all know an educated mind is the seat of wisdom and an indispensable, essential and an integral part of national development. It is very difficult for an educated person to be easily manipulated by sensationalism and dogmatism.
My main reason for writing this very short response to the Obama’s rally in Sewell Park on the campus of Texas State University is to reiterate my support for his plan to initiate the national youth service scheme or program in the United States of America. It will be a unique and very honorable plan to engage the American youth with a pragmatic approach to being of service to the nation. As he always said, “we shall invest in you, and then you in return will invest in America”, this call should be the hallmark of his quest for patriotism, nationalism and conviction that the youths after all can be dependable, against the popularly held opinion that they are reckless and irresponsible.
The Obama movement and ideology is the best way forward for a country in search of identity and reclaiming of its past pride and glory. It is now time to prove to the world at large that, America indeed has come of age and full realization of the enormous responsibility it must not only carry, but actually deliver for the betterment of the world. The effect of the foundation Obama is building especially among the youths will become conspicuously obvious from about 10 years from now and beyond. When you considers the call to serve by JFK and how many young Americans then opted to volunteer for the peace corps and relate it to Obama’s call for a national youth service scheme, it will essentially become manifest that, it is America and its interest that is been considered first and foremost.
I am hoping that, we shall all look beyond party divides, blue and red States demarcation and support this program for the sake of the country. It will be a wise thing to have to encourage our youths with educational incentives, devoid of the pseudo- mandates of going to war, in order to pay for colleges and other forms of education.

Hilary is promising universal healthcare that will be free for all Americans! Good as it may sound; most unfortunately it is not realistic, period! How do you pay for such a colossal anticipated cost and what about the Insurance companies, their employees and employers? What the people of America most honestly need to happen in the healthcare industry is first and foremost; its affordability should become very easy and comfortable to all class of people; low income as well as middle class income families. Furthermore, the quality of the healthcare services must not be compromised but enhanced to meet the current challenge of being one of the best in the world.
As was rightly pointed out by Obama, many leaders may mean well for the country, however, without the capacity to take on the lobbyist and special interest for the sake of the people of America has been the bedrock of the failed policies we have so much become accustomed to in the country.
With the overt influences of the special interest and lobbyist hanging around Hilary, it will indeed as a matter of fact by tantamount to fabrication for her campaign and her to claim to have the solution to the ambiguous and enormous problem facing the nation.
In light of the above few observation, may I kindly turn my attention to the essence of this article, the “youths”. Ours is the society that hardly recognized the undesirable elements heaped on the youths, especially of this country. We hold a lot of them to contempt and cynicism and hardly give them the opportunity to manifest their outmost desire to right the wrong and prove that they are capable of taking up the challenge of being the future leader of the country.
Of all the contemporary presidential contenders, none and I sincerely and pragmatically said without doubt but with total conviction that none believed in the capacity, capability and ingenuity of our youths the way Senator Obama do! It may not be a surprise that, Obama could easily identify the latent positive potential that our youths not only have , but are waiting for an opportunity to reveal them to the nation, most probably because he is the youngest of all the presidential candidates.
Can America afford to take the youths of this country for granted? Of course not any more, with the way and manner they have participated in the Obama movement of change and hope for a nation suffering from so many miscalculated policies and even actions which are adversely affecting the people and making their lives a living hell of a time.
Obama believes in our youths and behold, they have rewarded not only him, but America as a whole by taking up the mantle of future leaders, as is evident in their wholesome participation in the current political dispensation. This development was not an accident on the part of Obama, but rather an informed decision based on his personal conviction and past and present involvement with the youths.
We may recall, how Obama have so eloquently campaigned against the wanton loss of our youths in the war in Iraq, as against their going to school; The mutilation of our finest young men and women in the war in Iraq has become a tremendous burden on the nation as a whole, with no adequate provision for their healthcare, welfare and even benefits.
As I look at what is happening in the country, my heart is full of joy and pure exhilaration for the reclaiming of the hearts and zeal of our youths again.
Obama is undeniably a win, win situation for America. Many of these youths shall lead the country in the future in a manner and ways reminiscent of the likes of Abraham Lincoln, JF Kennedy locally and Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Gandhi internationally.
America, rejoice in Obama, for behold the country have a future!
America, rejoice in Obama for hope and change is coming!
America, rejoice in Obama for the nationalistic movement!
America, rejoice in Obama for the unity in diversity manifesto!
America, rejoice in Obama for raising the consciousness of the nation!
WE MUST SUPPORT THE OBAMA MOVEMENT TO BRING ABOUT THE TRANSFORMATION OF OUR NATIONAL IDEOLOGY TO THE LEVEL THAT WILL FURTHER POSITIONED IT TO EMPHATICALLY TAKE OVER THE LEADERSHIP OF THE WORLD.
