With 18 days left until Election Day, the Michigan Campaign for Change is moving full speed ahead! This weekend, we're opening a new office in Northwest Detroit, to add to our over sixty offices throughout Michigan. The new Northwest Detroit Campaign for Change office is just another example of Barack's continued commitment to working for every single Michigan vote, because our middle class families can't afford more of the same. Organizers in the office will work with supporters in the community to build support for Barack and other local candidates.
All across Michigan this weekend, including at the new Northwest Detroit office, volunteers will hit the streets and the phone lines to talk to voters about how an Obama-Biden administration will turn Michigan's economy around to provide the change we need. Visit one of our sixty offices around Michigan to join this incredible movement for change! Barack needs you - who this campaign is all about! Visit a Campaign for Change office this weekend:

It's Women's Week in New Hampshire and we'll be having guest blogs by women all week and tomorrow's Women's Wednesday will be kicked off with a phone call from Jill Biden. Michelle Obama also sent out the following email asking women like you to join use for Women's Weekend of Action.
It's hard to believe there are less than 50 days before Election Day.That's not a lot of time. And since women voters could decide this election, we have to take this opportunity to talk to our friends and family about what's at stake. We've seen the power of women throughout this campaign -- educating each other about the issues and building this movement by sharing our personal stories. That's why, over the next few weeks, women all across New Hampshire will be reaching out to one another through special Women's Week of Action phonebanks and canvasses. On every issue important to women -- from access to healthcare and universal pre-school to equal pay for equal work -- Barack is the only candidate who can bring about the change we need.Join a Women's Week of Action event and let other women in your community know why you're supporting Barack.Barack was raised by a single mother and grandmother. He understands the tough choices that working women in this country face every single day -- because he lived it. And now, he and I are raising two young girls. They are the reason we're in this race -- to make the world a better place, full of opportunity, for them and for all of our children.I know that Barack and Joe Biden are a strong team for women and families across the country because they have the record and the commitment to prove it -- but it's up to supporters like you to help get this message of change out into your communities.Barack and Joe will pass tax cuts for 95 percent of American families, ensure that women get equal pay for the same jobs as men, put the needs of working and middle class families ahead of special interests, and change our broken school system so that every single child in this nation has a world-class education from pre-school through college. But they can't do it alone. This campaign is counting on us. If women come together to support Barack and Joe, we can bring about the change we need.Get started today by reaching out to other women in your community:http://nh.barackobama.com/NHwomenswoaThe future of women and all of our families is at stake in this election.Thank you so much for all that you do,MichelleP.S. -- Each Wednesday from now until Election Day, every New Hampshire Campaign for Change office will host a Women to Women Phonebank. Please stop by your local field office and get involved:http://nh.barackobama.com/NHoffices

If you have a few minutes, read this article about Iowa, and what makes this election so special:
Parallel Politics
By MARILYNNE ROBINSON
Iowa City
A LITTLE less than a year ago there was an event in Indianola, Iowa, attended by all the major Democratic candidates for president. They were seated together on a platform in a large, rolling field ordinarily used for balloon launchings. One by one the candidates stood and spoke to a crowd estimated at 12,000 people. It was a glorious September day, there were big white tents where barbecue was being served and there were campaign signs and paraphernalia in Fourth of July colors everywhere. It was a scene that would be recognizable anywhere on earth and at any time in the history of the United States as a moment in the life of democracy.
Iowans are a practiced, patient and attentive audience. That there is a kind of decorum observed on occasions like this one is seldom noticed because it is seldom departed from. That day, however, after Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton had finished speaking her supporters walked out. Their numbers were impressive, as were the discipline and coordination that seemed to be reflected in their leaving as a body before Senators Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Christopher J. Dodd and Gov. Bill Richardson had spoken.
It was heartening for me to stand in an open field on a late summer day and hear important public figures talk thoughtfully and earnestly about issues of war and peace, about the life and soul of the country that has been entrusted to all of us. There was only the political theater of that mass departure to cast a shadow. It was the intrusion of another idiom, an assertion that what passed between these speakers and their audience was beside the point, that elections were determined elsewhere and in other terms.
In Iowa it is sometimes possible to forget how much has intervened between the American people and those who, in theory, represent them. The Clinton campaign came late into Iowa and never reconciled itself to the conditions that prevail here. The campaign was a reluctant visitor adapted to life in another world, a world in which the aura of virtual incumbency would avail more than would, let us say, reflection on the stresses on constitutional order that have resulted from the policies of the current administration.
That other world has now fully asserted its strange power. Its population is no doubt smaller than the attendance at an average Obama rally, yet it decides what matters — what gaffes, what tiffs, what lapses, what successes or failures at fund-raising. Politics, in any positive sense the word has ever had, clearly does not matter by this reckoning. The appeals to thought that are made a thousand times in the course of any campaign do not matter. The conversation a democracy must have with itself is not worth its time or attention, being either cynical or naïve. I am suggesting nothing worse than contempt for the general population.
Then again, perhaps there is nothing worse.

This weekend is the much anticipated, and extremely important Weekend of Action, where across Iowa, hundreds of supporters are going out today and on Monday to talk about Barack and Joe’s campaign to change Washington. We can’t stress enough the importance of these next two days, because they are going to play a big role in the organization we are building in this final push towards November 4th.
In order for our campaign to be successful at not only winning in November, but also at changing the ways of Washington, we must continue our organizing beyond this election. Our work, and the work of the grassroots networks across the country is helping to build an infrastructure that can help keep the pressure on Washington.
There are two days left in the Weekend of Action, and we need you to stand up now to get involved. As a former community organizer, Barack understands that a weekend of action must lead to a renewed sense of urgency to stay involved and continue building our grassroots relationships. Check out this video about a program Barack ran called “Project Vote”— Barack talks clearly about the key to bringing change and shows that by getting involved, you can make the difference.
