It's been quite a while since I updated this blog, but felt like enough has happened recently that an update is due. I've been busy following all the recent events with the economy and of course I watch Obama's speeches when they happen. This past one inspired me to not only create some stuff around the whole "nobody messes with Joe" slogan, but also made me start a new blog devoted to all the products that end up being created when events like that happen.
My most recent blog is about another seemingly popular topic that comes around this time of year. I remember last year, Irish Obama stuff was all over the place during St. Patrick's Day. I don't see things slowing down in regards to this love of both green beer and Obama, so I wrote an article on Barack Obama's St. patrick's Day t-shirts. It's interesting that on the site I use for all my designs, "Obama Irish t-shirts" are the very first thing you see on their St Patricks Day t-shirts page. He's got to be poplular if he's getting that much attention. It makes me with I had designed some shamrock'ed out designs myself. Maybe next year :/
In other news, I think Obama's first 4 days of being in office were sensational. There were so many reversals of Bush's laws that happened in such a short period of time that it was amazing to witness. The fact that he jumped in and changed things right off the bat makes me think more and more that he's got an idea of the direction he wants to take things toward. I think Bush not only lacked direction, but with what direction he had, he was poorly misguided.
Obama's Change.gov is also another major shift in the way of government. There's something truly beneficial to having all the expenses of government in the close scrutiny of the eyes of its citizens. My only hope is that not only do they keep the information public, but that they also make a way to comment and/or submit feedback on various expenses. I have a feeling the large US population will be able to spot waste more efficiently than a handful of people in the whitehouse.
I'm going to try to update this more often as I get the time, but until then, I wish everyone who reads this the best in these crazy times.
I had quite a bit of fun during this past election process making t-shirt designs. Designers everywhere were inspired by Obama and there weren't any shortages of designs out there to show your support with. I was half tempted to buy one of the official limited edition shirts by Pharrell Williams that I saw on this site a while back. Anyways, I wanted to share my favorite t-shirt designs inspired by Barack Obama. It's a short list of shirts but they're all top notch designs.
In no particular order...
Since I just mentioned it... The Pharrell Williams t-shirt design:

I wanted to let everyone know about a range of t-shirts I have designed in support of Barack Obama in the UK... As a UK citizen I unfortunately cannot vote on November 4. However, after having lived in the States for a couple of years, I was keen to somehow get involved in the movement and this is my way of contributing to the campaign and spreading Obama's message. The t-shirts are available at www.barackobamatshirts.co.uk and are priced at £16.99 (I will hopefully generate enough sales in order to cover my costs - I do not anticipate making any money from this venture). I am encouraging customers to make an optional donation in the region of £5 / $10 through the official campaign website (Please note that as I understand it, only US citizens are allowed to donate). I hope that you like the designs and that this is of real interest to all you Obama supporters in the UK! Go Barack! Steve UK Barack Obama T-Shirts
Hi all, please get the word out about these campaign buttons and get people to wear them in battleground States! Also, if it will be faster, make your own, or get them made locally!

Here's what I think their strength is: we'd all like to persuade others to vote for our candidate, but most normal people don't go approaching strangers and giving them their opinons. These buttons at least invite the stranger to ask. I think this person-to-person outreach has been one of Obama's campaign's biggest strengths from the very beginning. These buttons can help amplify that effect!Sure, you like wearing your Obama button, but you wish it would do more than just say a name, don't you? Here's how.http://www.cafepress.com/electobamastore/5995528Pass it on!

That's right. I don't think Obama could have made a better choice for his running mate and to help him through his presidency. With that being said, not just is Joe Biden my Homeboy, but he's my homeboy's homeboy!

I make Rhinestone shirts and have beautiful Obama designs! I love Oprah so much. I think she is the most amazing teacher on the planet and great role model. People make fun of me because I frequently mention what I have learned from her show, book recommendations, etc. But I have learned to live with it and know I am not alone. I want to give a couple of my rhinestone Obama shirts to Oprah and Gayle since they will be attending the convention and have rented a house in Denver. Does anybody out there know how I can get them some shirts for the DNC? I would appreciate serious suggestions. Maybe somebody who actually knows someone living in the area of the house they are renting? Thanks All!

Some friends and I designed some Obama shirts to raise money for the GA Campaign for Change. We would really appreciate it if you could help us spread the word! We just slapped together the site this weekend (it is still a little janky - although you can order shirts with no trouble) so check it out at http://www.ObamaRad.com if you are interested and feel free to spread the word if you dig them.
By the way, we are donating 25% of all money to the campaign and then just covering our supply and operating costs so I promise that this isnt some annoying spam crap. Promise!!! -Ryan
Hello, everyone. We are in Miami, and we have been cooking for a couple weeks at these other sites:

http://fullbodytransplant.wordpress.com/
We have sold five shirts already, and they will be worn proudly along with ten more we sent as donations, in Pennsylvania!
We made our first cash donations to the campaign today, $48 total.
We can't wait to keep track of our progress, on all four websites.
Onward!
Rian and Nina Fike.
These things must be sellin' like hotakes but they managed to get them to me before the holiday weekend. Thanks! I thought ahead and bought a large and a medium so i'll wear the better fit, and give the other one away to a worthy supporter.
I plan to wear it to work on Monday, even though my boss is a hardcore Repub. Once, a copy of Entertainment Weekly with Al Gore on the cover was sitting on the kitchen table at our office. When i went to the kitchen at lunch time, the magazine was gone. (i had kinda expected it to be.) What i didn't expect was that i'd find the inside of the magazine in the trashcan. The cover had been torn off and was nowhere to be found! I can't be 100% sure it was her doing, but the kitchen was right across the hall from her office, and she is just that rabid. Yikes.
I'm not worried about reprisal though. I'll leave it to her side to be fearful. I'm on the team of hope.
I was hopeful, considering the explanation that the shirts "run small," that I could get an XL green O'Bama shirt and it would fit me - or at least I could shrink it to fit. Well it was pretty big and only 50% cotton so it barely shrank (shrunk? shrinked?) at all.
Today, I mailed it to my buddy in Denver and ordered a Medium and a Large. I'm hoping to get it by Monday, but even if I don't, I'm at least supporting the campaign, union labor, and the postal service.
And apparently my buddy is gonna give the shirt to a "husky" Republican friend who's voting for Obama.
NICE!
I have a great resource for printing up to 6x shirts to wear in support of the cause. I've been using www.spiritshop.com to send my own designs to be printed on 6x shirts. I'm not affiliated with spiritshop.com in any way, it's just the place I found on Google to get 1 really big shirt printed for a reasonable cost. I wish I could buy them directly from the Obama site, but alas, they are too small, for I am a big, very big, supporter of Barack, 6x big. I'm a graphic designer so If you want me to send you the design to use, just let me know and I'll email it over. -Zach
Using the beautiful Obama logo, "hope on the horizon", I created a simple patchwork design and thanks to my friend's website, I'm offering these shirts as a way to raise funds for the campaign!

Obama Project is a clothing company with a purpose.
This is from their website:
Obama Project, Urban Style Barack Obama T-Shirts for the NOW generation Sure there are other sites out there that have Obama Shirts, but Obama Project has the best Obama Shirts around. "Change." It's an old cliché wielded by presidential candidates who, all to often, support exactly the opposite. Here at apb clothing, though, we've always disdained the status quo while also preaching hope for the future. Call us naive, but we still believe that "change" is possible. We've just been waiting for the right man (or woman) to come along. And now he has. That's why we're launching the Obama Project, a collection of cool shirts supporting Barack Obama. We are proud to promote a candidate who has both the desire and ability to change the ways of Washington. Putting our money where our mouth is, 10% of the profits from these shirts will be donated to groups and organizations that support Obama in 08. Now you can make a difference -- and look good while doing it. Obama Project, your source for Barack Obama Shirts, Gear and Stuff. We are at the tipping point so represent, register and vote.
They seem legit.
Check them out and let me know.
