Protesters With Guns
People who sense change sometimes act
Riotous against anything rather fiction or fact
Obstructing progress to improve they own lives
Taking up guns and replacing their knives
Economy is hard and health care strained
So Government proposes a cure, so why did they complained
They were conned by haters into believing it would
Euthanize granny with Death Panels, clearly the Bill is misunderstood
Regardless to the efforts of the President and his team
Such bitterness pour into our streets with actions extreme
Watered from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants
I would not believe this was Thomas Jefferson’s aspirants
That men would wield guns before their President
Have a misguided fortitude that it makes them independent
Governor once and President would be Palin planted a seed
Under her mischief the bitterness would feed
Nibbling away all good intensions and leaving an evil shell
She has managed to make innocent people blindly rebel
Guns at rallies, Attacks, Using the N word, calling Obama a Nazi, chanting Nazi slogans and even attempting to attack elected officials as they try to moderate the Health Care town halls, it seems the press is moving very slowly to understand who the FEW, the Minority, screamers, racists and right wing nut job, home grown terrorists really are.
Just reported: the SEIU obtained a Tea Party startegy via a Right Wing mobilization conf call.
The summary: Just destroy Obama's plan at any cost....No reasons....just be the party of NO

It is time for those that hate, not only healthcare reform, but also democracy and freedom, to stop inciting riots by spreading lies. The most despicable lie about the new health care bill regards a simple provision that a physician can be reimbursed if a patient wants to have a discussion about how they wish to be cared for if they become extremely ill.
That discussion could be that the patient wants to remain hooked to a machine that keeps them alive indefinitely, or the decision could be that the patient wishes to be unhooked from such a machine if they are brain dead, or the decision could be that the patients wants their spouse, parent or child to make such a decision. The common denominator is that this is a patient decision. The provision in the bill simply allows physicians to be reimbursed when they listen to patient’s decisions.
It’s a compassionate clause. It allows for us to have a conversation with our physician, as we do with our attorneys when we create our will. Lawyers get paid for making wills. This bill simply says that physicians will get paid for helping us during such difficult times. It’s about reimbursement, nothing more.
But horrific organizers against health care reform are causing people to wrongly believe that the bill somehow states that the government will kill you, that the government will mandate euthanasia. That is so preposterous that had I in advance seen that the strategies of these protestors would rely on such a nonsensical plan, I would have not even been concerned that such a far-fetched idea could have a chance of working, that anyone would ever believe such nonsense, such a distorted reversal of the actual facts. But incredibly, fear is a great lever. People actually believe that in the bill, there are provisions allowing the government to kill citizens through health care. And this lie is gaining traction, a lot of traction. The lie is working.
It’s time for intelligent people to say enough.
Enough fear mongering.
Enough distortion.
Enough bringing up Hitler and comparing that horrific individual to our President.
Enough.
President Obama, it’s time to make a significant speech about fear mongering, about the psychology of the lynch mob and why as a decent society we should abhor such insidious tactics. We cannot sit idly by and watch our society devolve into such horrors as we have seen in the past when lynch mobs, rather then the rule of law, governed our land.
President Obama, please bring your eloquence to the table of hatred and help stop this madness.
I was absolutely HORRIFIED to read in the Huffington Post that the slanderous robocalls that accuse Barack Obama of working closely with terrorists that kill Americans are coming from Brooklyn.
This past week, Shoff, a Freeborn, Minnesota Democratic County Commissioner, received the Hollywood call while at work. Because state law dictates that any such calls be made by an actual human, Shoff demanded that he be connected to the supervisor. That official, who worked at the robocall shop King TeleServices in (Red Hook) Brooklyn, New York, said that they had been contracted out by FLS-Connect.Officials with King TeleServices did not respond to messages seeking comment.Asked about the connection to King TeleServices, a receptionist for FLS relayed a message from her supervisors that implicitly acknowledged that they have been working on behalf of the Arizona Republican: "If it is having to do with the McCain campaign or the RNC, you will have to direct your question to them."

This just in, via Obama Rapid Response Team:
Dozens of students from the University of Iowa were kicked-out of the McCain-Palin rally for speaking out for peace and justice and against four more years of the same unacceptable policies of George Bush.
Activists from the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance and the University of Iowa Anti-war Committee engaged in a steady stream of "rolling disruptions" to advocate for peace and justice and highlight their discontent with McSame's pro-Bush policies.
It should be noted that heckling is a constitutionally protected form of free speech. During Palin's rally a group of UI female students (including Megan Felt, Hannah Rounds, Laura Kacere, and Marni Steadham) advocated for women's rights, which are being seriously threatened by the outdated policies of McCain and Palin.
They chanted "our body, our choice", "equal pay for equal work", and "Palin, Palin get off our back, women's rights are under attack!" They also held up a large banner reading "War is menstruation envy!" Following this protest these women were escorted out by the local law enforcement. Shortly after, a second group of protesters (including UI students Robin Berman, Dan Rathjen, and David Goodner) called Palin and McCain out when they blatantly lied to the crowd about the current economic crisis.
In particular, Palin and McCain promised to reform our economy, even though their economic policies are no different than the current administration. These protesters were also escorted out. Toward the end of the speech McCain talked about his pro-war viewpoint. At the same time, UI graduate student, Justin Feinstein, screamed out, "John McCain, you never learn! We lost in 'Nam! We lost in Iraq! You can never win in war!"
The third wave of students (including Feinstein, Brooke Bachelder, Lara Elborno, Naomi Prager, and Anthony Carter) began loudly chanting, "Bring 'em back, from Iraq", "No justice, no peace, U.S. out of the Middle East", "Wars, wars, that's his name, 100 more years with John McCain", and "All we are saying, is give peace a chance."
All protesters were escorted out peacefully and their demonstration isa testament to the 1st amendment rights given to every US citizen. The protesters encourage all people to exercise their right to freedomof speech.

Note from Stephen Fox: I think these students (Megan Felt, Hannah Rounds, Laura Kacere, Marni Steadham, Robin Berman, Dan Rathjen, David Goodner, Justin Feinstein, Brooke Bachelder, Lara Elborno, Naomi Prager, and Anthony Carter) deserve our commendation for their Gandhian courage and their intelligence to do what they did.

McCain stated: "The chairman of the FCC serves at the appointment of the President, and in my view has betrayed the public trust. If I were President today, I would fire him."
[He meant to say FEC, but that's ok, he's getting old and makes mistakes, like picking gun totin' mooseburger-eatin' dimwitted dingbat Governesses of Alaska out of National Enquirer, and McCain's wife expects us to believe that because from Little Diomede Island Alaska you can see Russia, that therefore Sarah Palin can therefore negotiate with Vladimir Putin ---note from Stephen Fox.....]
My name is Shane Valdez and I am concerned citizen that is passionate about politics. I am currently working for the campaign of Blake Cummings who is running against Tom Cole in District 4 of Oklahoma. I have become extremely concerned with the Republicans that have remained in DC to protest and demand that the democrats bring Congress back into session to have an up and down vote on drilling in ANWR and the Outer Shelf. The energy crisis is much more complex than a simple up and down vote on drilling. We cannot allow the Republicans to hijack the energy issue by exploiting our struggles at the pump. However, I do believe that the Democrats should have a strong counter attack ready in case this movement gains ground amongst the general public.
I think that the voting records of those that are protesting should be highly scrutinized in order to find out how they voting on key energy issues over the past 7 years. For example, how did they vote when raising fuel efficiency standards was on the table? If they are so concerned with the problems that Americans are facing at the pumps, why did they vote against raising fuel efficiency standards. If they are so concerned with struggling American families, why did they vote against the minimum wage raise? How have they voted on increasing funding and tax rebates for alternative fuels and research? Where were they when the American people needed them for those votes? They weren't there for us when we needed better mileage in our vehicles or better paychecks to deal with rising costs. But as soon as there is something in it for the oil companies, they are ready to go to bat supposedly for the American people. We have to expose these protesting Republicans for the hypocrites that they are. Where would GM and Ford be today had Congress raised fuel efficiency standards a few years back? Instead, now they are fighting not to go into bankruptcy. The same way that the Bush administration exploited the American public after 9/11 to make a power grab in all aspects of our government and executive privilege, the Republicans are trying to exploit the economic crisis that Americans are facing at the pump and in all aspects of life to make a power grab for the oil companies.
I am against drilling in the currently restricted areas of our country, but I feel that because of right wing propaganda, this election may hinge on that issue. The vote for drilling in these areas may be what the uninformed public wants. What is the strategy to counter this?
I think the Democrats are in a similar situation that the Republicans were in just before they lost office in 2006 when the public wanted a vote on the minimum wage issue, so they presented a minimum wage bill with the elimination of the inheritance tax attached to it. They refused to give an up and down vote on minimum wage. They then accused the Democrats of not supporting a minimum wage increase and heralded themselves as the champions of the little people.
If it comes to the point where a vote is unavoidable, giving them an up or down vote should be out of the question.
I think the bill should be multi-faceted just as the energy issue is multi-faceted.
How about a drilling bill that is attached to things the Republicans would look bad voting against and would expose their true intent. Some of us could stomach drilling if the bill also raised fuel efficiency standards, only allowed companies to drill that gave a specific percentage of profits to alternative fuels research, did not allow these companies to sell the oil overseas, did not allow the debt owed for these leases to be forgiven as they were a few years back for drilling in the Outer Shelf, and did not allow the companies to sit on the leases without drilling just so nobody else drills them.
This election may hinge on the reaction given to the protesters in DC should their movement gain momentum. We need to be prepared to face them head on. Please let me know your thoughts about this topic.
Sincerely,
Shane Valdez
Right now is a good time to "keep your head while all others arround you are losing theirs" (or something like that.
When I saw the news reports showing the Clinton protesters outside the DNC meeting and then read the blog entries on the Democratic Party National Blog I thought, "They're going to tear down everything we've worked for in my generation." The blog entries as the protesters were nothing short of shrill and vindictive, the very labels we couldn't abide as women. Now they're out there for everyone to see. I have been embarassed and ashamed, now I'm mortified.
I will be campaigning vigorously for Obama in the same positive manner the campaign has been run from the start knowing that no matter how the voters and the delegates vote, somebody is going to fly into a rage. It is unfortunate we have gone past the kitchen sink days and into the bathroom.
Since dignity is going to be a rare commodity among some women, I would hope all of us will keep ours. Somebody reasonable and probably just as dismayed as I was posted something I might have thought a bit corny on another day. Today, it seemed just perfect.

Sick and Sad but true!

If you don't understand how propaganda works.. You might say to yourself.. They are not! But this is the trick of propaganda using (word association)
There is no reason on earth to use the words terrorist or al Qaeda in a story about pro-democracy protesters trying to rid themselves of a dictator in Pakistan.
But they do use it multiple times in order to put this (word association) in the minds of the citizens. Soviet style propaganda imported and sadly becoming more prevalent in America!
