I noticed that the more we go deep in President Obama agenda, the more we do encounter a stronger resistance, not only from pure Republican machine, but also from some Democrats who still not understand the message of change. We should fight and achieve our objectives in Healthcare, Education, Energy, and keep the economy going. The more we demonstrate our focus, all our opponents will finally believe in our commitment, and it will be difficult to continue their resistance movement.

"Many people took out loans they were never going to be able to afford, never! That means somebody knew from day one they were never going tobe able to pay back the loans." The bankers approved these loans and used the money to pay themselves bonuses and payed our government representatives to look the other way…that’s where we are…any suggestions for getting us out of the mess are welcome…but if you just want to play the blame game…where does that get us?

We are all likely guilty by association if anyone in our high school, or college, or any organization we've ever belonged to commited a crime. Ted Bundy went to high school once. Does that make his entire high school also serial killers or "known affiliation with a serial killer"? This reaching to throw mud sickens me.
Carry that down to community level. I think we all need to think carefully before claiming guilty by association.
It is my perspective that certain people are going to vote Republican no matter what. All we can do is make sure to be out there in force, enforce our right to vote, outnumber in more ways than one, peacefully and democratically (pun intended), and get Obama into office.
Our government is so entrenched in secrecy and bad intentions and has been at least since the Cold War. I fear if someone not tied to those old allegiances does not shake out that insidious element to the nation, it will be too late.
Senator Obama, I dearly hope you will come to know what happened in the 1970s relevant to government abuse of its own citizens. Senator Ted Kennedy is well aware since he was part of the original investigation. I am counting on you to have people working to red line all those programs hidden deep in the belly of the beast. Too many innocent citizens have had their lives impacted by these underground government abuses.
Many survivors are counting on you. I'm one of them.
i just want to share my thoughts on further De-regulation of our industries/systems as Sen McCain has suggested
Some call it "Big Government" But Alll I want is competent Government" you know.....
a Gornment that works........
My understanding has always been that by regulating the industries in our country, our government was protecting our citizens from those who would do us harm either thru carelessness or simple greed.
Pls note that, people, in too many instances, are easily influencesd to do the selfish or greedy thing when striving and or achieveing success. trickle down economics doesn't work because if not forced to, those at the top don't necessairly share their wealth with the masses at the bottom.....(No table scraps for you)
If not for regulation, there would be no minimum wage, someone would pay you 2.00 per hour just to cut costs.......and wouildn't provide health insurance, you couldn't get FMLA for emergency situations and preserve your job.
I would almost equate De-regulation with lawlessness.....it's like saying we've taken away most of the rules, aND ALL OF THE MONITORING TO SEE WHO IS FOLLOWING THOSE THAT ARE LEFT, NOW GO PLAY...........'nO REFS, NO WHISTLES, PLAY BALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL-----"(DOESN'T SOUND GOOD NOW HUH)
without regulation and adequate funding of our government regulators Americans are left exposed to tainted Food,
(Bush had left out funding for the FDA in his most recent budget),
until people in multiple states died from tainted tomatoes.....yes read that again, left out funding for the govt dept that over sees FOOD SAFETY IN AMERICA.....
unsafe financial markets, predatory lending programs, and con artist who are not being policed in anyway.
DURIng THE BUSH YEARS, WE HAVE HAD OUR ENRON'S AND OUR FEMA MORONS ALL GIVE GLARING EXAMPLES OF WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE CHECKS N BALANCES THAT MAKE US a great nation and allows the USA to HAVE THE MOST TRUSTED AND STABLE FINANCIAL MARKETS IN THE WORLD, SOME OF THE SAFEST FOOD IN THE WORLD, AND EXCELLENT DISASTER RECOVERY PROGRAMS (oh sorry we get foreign aid across the ocean way befroe we can get an air drop toe the Gulf or even the mid west)
Are de-regulated, not monitored, and allowed to run amuck unchecked....those with power will use their advantage to increase their position and only their position nothing ever trickles down....and tell me what self respecting American wants a trickle down I am not afraid of hard work. I just want my government, for whom we as citizens are the biggest contributors (via taxation), to keep an eye out to be sure I am not robbed of my hard work....
i don't want to ramble so I will end with this.
Regulation as well as checks n balances are absolutely necessary if order to maintain a fair system of competition. Regulation is designed to even the playing field a bit so that none can take an unfair advantage. Regulation is absolutely necessary because even in our free market system, those with alot of resources have a distinct advantage over those with limited resources....and the primary way to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to legitimately achieve success is via "Regulation"
I work at a Job Corps Center. For those of you that may not be familiar, Job Corps is the nation’s oldest and largest federally funded job training and education program for economically disadvantaged youth ages 16 through 24. It was established in 1964.
I bring this up for a couple of reasons.
(1) The opposition appears to think Senator Obama is unaware of this program and that he has even made suggestions to start similar job training/educational programs, while never acknowledging the fact that a nationally funded program already existed. Apparently Senator Clinton has made similar suggestions as well. I don't know if this is true, but let's resolve that.
(2) There are changes in our culture, specifically affecting our nation's youth, that contributes to the challenges teachers now face in our school system. These changes include poor-behavior, disrespect, and indifference that our youth now demonstrate that not only affects their future employability and competiveness in the marketplace, but leads to few remaining opportunities to complete their basic education. Organizations like Job Corps and other 2nd chance opportunities have been trying to tackle these issues for years and fill in where family structure has not. However most notable, is the Glen Mills program in Pennsylvania and their successes. Their Normative Culture training is extremely effective and now being taught at Job Corps to help staff learn how to develop positive behavior and change the culture on their Centers.
As President, I think Barrack Obama should look at Normative Culture and how it can help our nation develop a responsible community of young adults. While Normative Culture has been developed and proven to shine among 2nd chance opportunities, it could certainly be tailored more as a preventive measure, beginning in the homes and in the early school systems, where positive norms would best be established. Training opportunities could be made available to parents and early-childhood development teachers and would of-course continue on in every level of education, where the teachers, parents, and young adults each learn to take responsibility for the group behavior. 2nd chance opportunities like Job Corps and Glenn Mills would continue, but hopefully, if successfull in the early education systems, the numbers of youth that need to attend those programs would drop. As a result, we would hopefully see a surge of educational excellence in our schools again and the vitality of our youth return.
In the end, it's about developing communities and taking responsibility... I think that fits nicely with Obama's vision.
We CAN be the change.
