Change Has Come
In the 60's Sam Cooke sang so eloquently about a change comin,’
Dr. Martin Luther King visualized it and kept everyone drummin.’
In the 80's, Rev. Jesse Jackson personified it and started runnin’!
In 2008, Sen. Barack Obama exemplified it and got the voters hummin,’
It was an arduous 2 year uphill battle an all encompassing task,
He skillfully debated Sen. Clinton and McCain and he still didn’t bask--
Because he is a community organizer at heart but now just on a larger scale.
Who has beautiful women behind him like Sasha, Malia, Marian and Michelle!
In 2009, he took the oath and his platform of unity, hard work, family first and sacrifice,
To the White House with the mantra of YES WE CAN which should surely suffice-
For a country divided by everything underneath the sun,
From the war in Iraq, to women’s rights to the control of guns.
But thank goodness we have a well versed intellectual as the first in command,
Who wants all of us to get in on ground zero, roll up our sleeves and use our hands--
To rebuild this great nation and fulfill the promises that our forefathers spoke of.
Because first and foremost he is a family man, and his ideals are rooted in love.
On that note, I will close, and say a prayer for our 44th president,
Who has more than a clue and more than a hint
On how to get this country back on track,
For everyone not just the poor or the rich or white or black.
After I wrote my friend I realized that the phrase Happy New Year like Our Lord Jesus also had 12 letters. This number 12 was starting to seem even more important. When I think of the things I wanted to pray for my family and friend this New Year, I came up with these during an early morning soliloquy.
Happy New Year
Here are 12 letters, 12 lines and 12 things in A Prayer For You
A prayer that all Your Earnest Prayers Come True
Peace And Goodwill to you and your fellow man
Prayers for Good Health and to be the best that you can
Your family and friend’s True Undying Love
Nurturing for Spiritual Growth from our Father above
Every Day Contentment and that you find early
Wisdom to help guide in times of uncertainty
Your mind, body and soul, I’ll pray for His Healing Touch
Every Blessing Bestowed you and none be too much
At this turn of the year I pray for you Great Prosperity
Ring in 2009 with my prayer for God’s Promise Of Life Eternity
Today I voted
Today was a day of history in the making
Today is the day, there shall be no more taking
Of my rights and privileges
I made a statement beautiful and bold
Today couldn't have been more perfect
Even the weather just right, not cold.
We chose right, others chose wrong
Only in my eyes because I thought very long
Of the candidates that were given
It wasn't a black or white thing to me
It was about health, education and oil
Also how to keep the middle class financially free.
My children went with me
Inside the voting booth, we walked in liberty,
The sacrifices of our forefathers have paved the way for us
My children were quite amazed; someday they"ll share with their own kids
How we voted for the first black president
I pray that a lot of people did.
Cause change is what we need
And this man God has in His hands indeed
To lead this nation and restore it back to order
Today I voted, for whom I feel will help this nation
Whose politics are right side up not upside down
Like the former administration.
Today I voted! Did you?

Oh what an evil web we weave when first we practice to deceive. I have been watching how Bill O’Reilly was dropping all the positive comments for Barack Obama over the last week, I was sure to lure him into the clutches of Fox. I never wanted Barack to appear at Fox, especially prior to these primaries in Indiana and North Carolina, not because Barack can’t go toe to toe with the likes of Bill but what purpose does it serve sitting down someone so bent on destroying you under their terms. Barack went on Fox with Chris Wallace but apparently that wasn’t enough for Bill O’Reilly. Is it that he alone has a monopoly to the Fox viewers?
Hillary Vs O’Reilly
Have I missed the argument at its core
Is it everyone’s opinion that she was good, even more
Looks like everyone but me gives her a grade A
Lots of evasiveness with chuckles, a calculated display
All crafted to paint this false picture
Reaching demographics which eluders her
You’d never expect these two to plot
Vying to put Obama on the spot
So like you I dismissed this until Bill’s spout
Obama on the Miller segment was being called out
Repeating that Barack no longer can stay away
Except he wants to be their easy prey
I knew for days O’Reilly was weaving his web
Looks like he’d managed to get others “in bed”
Let me warn the Obama’s campaign to avoid this attack
You must be careful if you are going to expose Barack

PARIS FRANCE
As I read more and more about Obama, I sincerely believe that he IS the person that can heal not only our country's standing in the world but can approach the problems of the world in a more thoughtful and inclusive manner. We, as Americans NEED this pivotal person to lead us away from the 'old boys' network of politics.
I know Mr.Obama is not an isolationist.
I know Mr. Obama's philosophy incorporates a more holistic worldview.
I respect his apparant integrity and worldview. My hope is for YOU, Mr. Obama!
