"Many people took out loans they were never going to be able to afford, never! That means somebody knew from day one they were never going tobe able to pay back the loans." The bankers approved these loans and used the money to pay themselves bonuses and payed our government representatives to look the other way…that’s where we are…any suggestions for getting us out of the mess are welcome…but if you just want to play the blame game…where does that get us?

Give me a break! I applaud Senator Obama's reaction to the latest "phony outrage" from the McCain camp.
I have the good fortune to work a 4-day week, which frees up Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to do my own thing. With the kids in school, I have the opportunity to watch the various news shows and go online to watch live streams of the candidates' speeches as they happen. One thing I've noted is the substantial difference between McCain's campaign events and Obama's. If more registered voters had the same opportunity, this race would not be in a statistical dead heat. Whereas McCain continues to run solely on his war record, Obama presents a clear vision for the future of America.
Vision - that's the key that the media buzz is missing.
I'm a 20-year Navy veteran, and during that time I had many Commanding Officers, some good and some bad. Make no mistake, you don't get to command a multibillion dollar nuclear submarine if you're a dumbass. It just won't happen, because the consequences are too severe if one of those Commanding Officers makes a mistake. The same can be said of the presidency. So how can I say that one Captain was bad and another was good?
It all comes down results. Every Captain wants a smooth running ship. He wants the equipment maintained properly, he wants the crew performing their duties flawlessly, and he wants his men eager to willingly take the fight to the enemy without question, regardless of the danger, in high spirits, and convinced that they can win regardless of the odds. That's a hard thing to do when you consider the inherent danger of operating a ship underwater. It takes more than just cheerleading and patriotism, because the men are already adventurous in spirit and ardent patriots, or they would never have volunteered for submarine service in the first place. Let me be clear, we never actually engaged an enemy in wartime, but we went into many dangerous situations that could have easily changed that. I knew when my shipmates were ready to follow the Captain into the gates of hell and when they weren't. What I found repeatedly, is that some Captains were better than others at inspiring their men and getting results. Every good Captain had one thing in common. They all had vision.
Vision is certain knowledge of what the future holds and what needs to be done to get there. The truth is that a rare few are able to see with such clarity that they can see a clear progression from where they are to where they need to go. Most of the rest of us can see it once its pointed out, but would have missed it otherwise. The rest of us will never see it, no matter how hard we try.
Vision is what empowered Franklin Delano Roosevelt to guide us out of the great depression and through most of World War II. Vision is what enabled John Fitzgerald Kennedy to set his eye on the moon. In both cases, neither of these men knew precisely how these lofty goals were going to be accomplished because neither the technology nor the agencies required were invented yet. But they knew what needed to be done, and they were able to convey their vision and and lead us in the right direction.
I see the same vision in Barack Obama.
Senator Obama, you are my Captain, and I will follow you through the gates of hell and back. The Obama State Office just opened in Phoenix, and I am now on a mission to win the hearts and minds of fellow Phoenicians, Latino or otherwise.
The photo says it all!
BTW, I heard Senator Obama speaking this morning about the "lipstick on a pig" CONtroversy. When Barack said "Spare me the phony outrage," I was jumping around the room! Way to smack 'em back, Barack!
