"Many people took out loans they were never going to be able to afford, never! That means somebody knew from day one they were never going tobe able to pay back the loans." The bankers approved these loans and used the money to pay themselves bonuses and payed our government representatives to look the other way…that’s where we are…any suggestions for getting us out of the mess are welcome…but if you just want to play the blame game…where does that get us?

Every undecided voter I've spoken to likes Obama, but are repelled by his stance on abortion.
I think Obama's public discussion of abortion, so far, is inadequate. But Obama has left his view on abortion a little wiggle room, such as, when during the PA debate he said he was unsure about when life began. Then, during the Faith Forum, he said this difficult question was "above [his] pay grade."
I agree with Hillary's comment that abortion should be rare and safe. I think Obama should welcome a vote, once he becomes president, to overturn Roe vs. Wade to state law, and communicate this within the next 45 days to undecided voters.
When Obama was asked when does life begin and Obama made some comments of the difficulty of the issue and then stated that the decision was beyond his pay scale, I believe there was some confusion about the response.
I believe Obama meant that the question as to when life begins, can only be answered by God. Man can only guess as to what is the true answer.
McCain gave the popular answer of "at conception." But McCain went on to say he supports using fetal cells for transplantation to save adult lives.
His answers left McCain straddling the line and trying to say the "right thing" to both questions. He gave no indication that he had any problems with how his answers posed some conflicts.

Virtual fence scrapped.
Patreus
I'm not military, but Petraeus is now the Chief of Central Command (Cencom). What does that mean?
Pay Discrimination
Senate may consider unequal pay bill
Globalization
This is an interesting take on it, factoring the underground economy, but I wouldn't consider it the sole contributing factor: Globalization’s Aftershocks.

Under current law, veterans with 20 years of military service are entitled to receive retirement benefits from the Department of Defense. In addition, veterans who incurred service-related disabilities are entitled to receive disability compensation benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Under an 1891 law, If a veteran has both 20 years of military service and a service-related disability, the veteran’s military retirement benefit is reduced on a dollar-for-dollar basis by the amount the veteran receives in disability compensation.
This reduction in the veteran’s retirement benefits is commonly known as the “Disabled Veterans Tax.” Effectively, the disability compensation received by these veterans is taxed at a 100% rate.
Why should a military member have their retirement pay reduced because they sustained a disabling injury during their dedicated service?
Which candidates will eliminate the Disabled Veterans Tax?
Your comments on this issue?
I was reading about social security on NOW's website and came across this staggering little gem:
The cumulative effect of sex-based wage discrimination is that women reach retirement age short-changed by hundreds of thousands of dollars that should have been available to them for retirement savings and investments. The Institute for Women's Policy Research estimated the impact of sex-based pay description over a 15 year time frame. Taking into account women's lower work hours and their years with zero earnings, the study found that women workers in their prime earning years, 26 to 59, make a total of only 38% of what men are paid. Across the 15 years (1983-1998), the average prime age working woman earned only $273, 592 while the average working man earned $722,693 (1999 dollars). A shocking difference!
So, day-to-day it's 77%, but over a lifetime it falls to 38%. So much to look forward to!
Fortunately, Obama's on it. After the jump you will find an excerpt from a response letter from Obama on fair pay and links to blogs I've done on rights and equality for women. (I highly recommend reading the excerpt--it is extremely education as far as understanding what each legislation does. Gives some insight into how the gov't is working for us! :) )
