Hundreds of supporters filled the streets at the Grand Opening of the Arizona Headquarters for the Barack Obama Campaign on September 11, 2008 in Phoenix, Ariz.
Many in the crowd had brought homemade signs, brandishing them as way of applauding, waving them in time to the Obama's signature campaign slogan, "Yes, We can!" which broke out spontaneously from time to time, and using them as shields against the blistering sun.
Wow what a crowd! Over 150 supporters came to celebrate Senator Obama's 47th birthday and the official opening of the Manchester, New Hampshire Campaign for Change office. There were many special guest speakers including Democratic Chairman Raymond Buckley, Rep. Mike Brunelle, Jim Demers, Senate President Sylvia Larsen, Sen. Lou D'Allesandro, and Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter.
The walls were covered with signs from all the Democratic candidates: Obama, Jeanne Shaheen, and Carol Shea-Porter. Sign-up sheets on the back wall were filled with people signing up to volunteer, write letters to the editor, and house out-of-state volunteers.
The theme of the night was the urgency of everyone to get involved to support the coordinated effort to turn New Hampshire blue and elect all the Democrats down the ballot. Mr. Buckley noted the power of this campaign and the excitement of everyone who was involved during the primaries and the importance of the great state of New Hampshire in deciding the outcome of the 2008 Presidential election. The time is now! Get involved.
If you missed the event or live outside of Manchester, find an office near you.

Here is a snippet of what we heard during the opening ceremonies for the Barack Obama Georgia State Headquarters. Even if you don't live in Georgia, I encourage you to listen. I hope that you forward this email to those who have not been involved to inspire them to action. If each of us just register two people, and one of those people vote for Barack Obama, we can change this country. Yes We Can!
Featured speakers: David Adelman, John Lewis.Transcript of video:John Lewis, August 2, 2008 at the GA HQ Obama Grand Opening (paraphrased): "I was in Las Vegas and it was very warm there ... last weekend... campaigning for Barack Obama . It may be hot now, but if we win on November the 4, it will be cool. Now, each and everyone of us must go out and do what we must do and register the unregistered, organized the unorganized, not just here in Fulton County, here in Atlanta, but throughout the state of Georgia. This is our moment, this is our moment! ... We are more than lucky, we are very blessed to live at this time. As I said last weekend some of my friends, some of my colleagues, some of my brothers and sisters, died for the right to vote. You won't be beaten, you won't get arrested, you wont go to jail .... There too many unregistered voters in Fulton County, in Dekalb County, in Clayton County, in Cobb County and throughout this state. So let's get out there and push and pull and we can do it; and when we elect Barack Obama the next President of the United State, he will look out for all of us and no one, but no one, will be left out or left behind."

WE NEED YOUR HELP:
PHONE BANKING – we need to begin recruiting potential volunteers and speaking to Undecided voters, Hillary supporters and Leaning McCain supporters. We have four months to persuade these voters that their voice can be heard through our candidate. These votes are crucial to our success here.
VOTER REGISTRATION– we need to register as many people as possible to vote! Our campaign has thrived off of registering every single potential voter in every state, we want to ensure that every vote is heard. This is how we can win - every single phone call makes such a big difference.
CANVASS – one to one contact with voters is among the most effective ways to discuss and persuade voters to understand the importance of their vote. Please help us knock on doors, talk to voters and drop off important and informative literature.
JOIN MYBO GROUPS – the grassroots movement in every state is the backbone to this campaign. We have a helpful way to stay connected with each other and the campaign staffers through mybarackobama.com groups on our website. You can share stories, post events and discuss the issues of the campaign. Please go to mybarackobama.com and search under “groups” for your zipcode and join!
HOUSE AN OBAMA STAFFER OR FELLOW – we will be having many more staffers and volunteers flooding into New Mexico and will be needing housing! Please let us know if you have any extra space available. We promise we are great houseguests!

YES WE CAN!
Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. - BARACK OBAMA, Feb. 5, 2008
Working together Friday afternoon, I could feel us already becoming a team - 6 year old Cassidy and I totally bonded putting together the kids' space. Our storefront is so deluxe that we have a room just off the phone bank area set aside for youngsters. Cassidy and her brother made signs and hung posters, then Cassidy and I put together a shelf for an assortment of toys and art supplies.
We also got Miz Ida Bean's portrait hanging in a place of honor on the front wall. She was the matriarch of Democratic activity here for many many years, and died just a couple months ago. She would have been so happy to see this happening, though I'll bet she was a Hillary supporter.
The whole place was abuzz with energy as we got ready for the big event Saturday. The Democratic Club here has never had an office on the square, let alone a presidential campaign office. We had trouble even getting bumperstickers for Kerry in town. So this is a huge step out for Democrats and Obama supporters. Our Obama staffer, Mike, has made a huge difference. He has great skills and amazing focus, and being an outsider I believe makes it easier to just forge ahead without all the baggage. But still, it was hard to imagine how many people would show up on a Saturday morning...
Mike was imagining 100 people, and sure enough, we had 105 sign in. Some I knew, some I knew but never knew they were Democrat. Many I did not know. The mood was jubilant and yes hopeful. The speeches were good, and volunteers signed up. We sold all the t-shirts on hand and lots of pins and bumperstickers; yard signs for the local races went out the doors. Kids played in the playrooom. The speeches were good, and volunteers signed up. I wished Milt Wright could have been there; he was trying to change his allegiance to Obama when he died after Super Tuesday. He would have loved all the visiting and the food.
So I say - yes we can! We can bring in the votes in rural Missouri. I believe that in this conservative Republican stronghold there will be at least five votes cast for Obama for every person who comes out as a supporter. We may not win over the plain ol racists and single issue voters, but I believe that many people - working people, poor people, those who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan and ther families, anybody who has to buy food or fuel - I believe many people are seeing the light. And we're here - right here on the court house square of West Plains - to turn up the wattage.

Our Idaho headquarters office opening happened on November 1, but seeing pictures and media accounts of the opening is probably still of interest to many people. Check out this post by Brett Adler, one of our core volunteers:
"The grand opening of the Idaho Headquarters of the Obama for America campaign was a huge success!Nearly 100 supporters, community leaders, and elected officials gathered to support the opening of our Idaho Campaign Headquarters. They toured our office, met our staff, and signed up to get involved. Speakers included District 19 Rep. Nicole LeFavour, Obama For America Western Caucus States Director Ray Rivera, and Obama for America Idaho Field Director Joey Bristol. Ray flew in from Colorado just for this event and Joey, a native of eastern Washington, recently moved here to lead our efforts to win the caucus in February. We also heard from Boise locals TJ Thomson and "ObamaMama" Kassie Cerami, who both played a vital role in turning our local grassroots efforts into an official campaign headquarters.Check out this other media coverage: Idaho for Obama account - hereDaily Kos Blog - here Red State Rebels Blog - hereObama National Blog - here Idaho Statesman - hereBoise Weekly - hereChannel 6 News - hereChannel 7 News - here Idaho Business Review - herePride Depot - here Some Event Photos - here and hereFor more information or to see the local website, check out www.IdahoForObama.org Brett Adler, Volunteer"
