As Americans we can not effectively end child abuse without first recognizing the abuser and then providing them with rehabilitation, in addition to protecting abused American children.
Focusing on how we can end abusive cycles for future American generations is a public health crisis that often goes over looked and silently accepted. "oh, she is just a Broken Mom, she will never change." We believe that it is unacceptable to let a Broken Mom go without recognition and treatment. We have seen some of the most Broken Moms who never thought change was possible, their families gave up on them, their kids still do not speak to them...but with the help of our Ministry we have seen miraculous changes in these Recovering Broken Moms. Ultimately this translates into healthy productive American Citizens....American Mothers, the back bone, the heart, the strength of America. We work hard to lift up Broken Moms as our American duty to the millions of Broken Moms who feel they have no voice, we speak up for them, won't you join us? www.brokenmoms.com
The First Step Towards Change Is Awareness. The Second Is Acceptance.
Our organization is a nationwide public awareness campaign that was created in 2006 through the vision and courage of Founder Liana Preble. We are dedicated to reaching moms who are struggling in motherhood and suffering in silence due to shame, fear and the stigma that is attached to struggling moms in our society. Over the past two years through our online communities we have provided and successfully intervened thousands of mothers in hundreds of circumstances who were suffering in silence. Regardless of your childs age, if you are suffering and need help please reach out to the services we provide or contact us. You don't have to suffer, help is available.

Last night members of Moms for Obama, an online grassroots constituency group created through MyBO, gathered at the Obama Campaign New Jersey headquarters to make phone calls and speak with voters about Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s campaign for change. “The mothers in our organization are supporting Senator Obama because he has spoken to our concerns about the economy, healthcare and family leave,” said Michelle Schultz, a New Jersey member of Moms for Obama. “We are committed to doing everything we can over the next two weeks to elect Senator Obama, because he’s the only candidate committed to changing Washington in the ways that are important to us.”
Cara Laitusis and Dana Kooistre call voters for Obama. "In March 2002, I watched the U.S. march into a war in Iraq. My husband and I were astonished that we heard a call for war over and over again from President Bush without any sound explanation,” said Dana Kooistre, a mom from Lawrenceville. “I’m very excited to vote for Barack Obama who has the judgment and temperament to be able to know when to use military force. I have two sons. I don’t want a president who would commit American troops to war unless all other options were exercised.” Read Barack Obama’s plan to end the war in Iraq.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE OCTOBER 20, 2008momsforobama@sbcglobal.net
MOMS FOR OBAMA/BIDEN TO HOLD NATIONAL RALLY DAY--Hundreds of Mothers, Husbands, and Children Expected at Rallies to be held across America on November 1 at 12:00 pm PST (3:00 pm EST)
Chicago, IL – Mothers and families are signing up by the hundreds to plan and participate in a rally being organized as a show of support for Barack Obama’s candidacy just days before Election Day. Moms for Obama, a national grassroots organization, are coordinating the event, billed as “National Rally Day” by its organizers.
On November 1 at 12:00 pm PST, mothers and their children will participate in marches and rallies across the country. The event is designed to allow mothers to make their voices heard in their own community rather than traveling to a single rally location. Moms for Obama believes that as supporters join hands and hearts for America’s children in small towns and big cities across the United States, our voices will echo from sea to shining sea.
“This time, this moment, our future is worth fighting for Barack Obama's message of hope, action, and change offers a vision and promise America can believe in.” shared Moms for Obama Administrator, Tamara Burrell. “Under his leadership we will see a conclusion in Iraq, healthcare resolution for all, and economic solutions that will benefit our families.” “Join Moms across America on November 1 in standing up for change.”
The list keeps growing of cities in which mothers are coordinating rallies and marches to show their support for Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Currently, more than 17 cities across America are participating. The group expects to have nationwide participation with multiple rally locations in each state.
Moms for Obama formed in February 2007 as a core group of mothers determined to make a difference in the 2008 election through grassroots organizing. Members felt the need to take action and get involved in the political process in order to make their voices heard after watching the Bush policies of the last few years that have abandoned America’s children in favor of special interests. There are more than 100 million mothers in the United States and the demographic is one that is respected and valued by candidates based on mothers’ consistent turnout on Election Day and their commitment to the issues that affect our children and country.

Everybody's talking about "Joe, the plumber." How about "Joe or Josy, the parent." Let's talk about what it is like to raise children and the worries of this great country's parents. On one extreme some parents, often mostly mothers, make just enough to get the rent paid, and what is leftover gets split between clothes, food, and medical care. These parents work long hours and don't have the luxury of taking time off from the job to be there for their kids' school play or sports event. And they also have to choose between time off from work and taking care of a sick child. And it isn't just the money. Most employers don't consider time off for fami;y reasons an acceptable fulfillment of responsibility.
Mothers and fathers have to choose between how much parenting they will neglect, or how much of their professional development they will ignore. Women's health, especially, is always affected by the stress of keeping too many balls in the air - dishes, mops, school lunches, office paperwork, the sick cat, and the calender with last week's missed orthodontist appointment. We sharpen our kids homework pencils with one hand and check work messages with the other. We try and instill good values at home and at work and find ourselves cheating in the corners because we are just so tired.
At home our kids are frightened by environmental stress. They fear that the earth will no longer exist as they know it. They worry that the planet is going to implode. They ask about their parents' jobs, and can't be sure that their mother or father will keep working. They want to know what the Great depression is. School is everything to our kids, but only some of them really get the best of what education has to offer. Mostly they are upper-income and largely white, and even then, the most important things that any child could learn about citizenry, responsibility, the arts, humanities and the higher principles of science are overshadowed by the trivialization of humanity on televsion, computer games, all the other electronic media that has made a brisk walk in the woods something extraordinary and wierd.
Sarah Palin can shoot all the wolves she wants and the pregnant teenager of a governor will likely have her medical, food and rent bills paid and a job to go to when she wants it. John McCain can air quote women's health endlessly but it doesn't change the reality that women's bodies can be worn down by all the laboring and loving of childrearing in a manner no man will ever understand.
The truth is that somebody has to raise the children who are our next generation. We can't outsource this job. We don't want to outsource this job. Forget Joe the Plumber and his whining about having to possibly pay new taxes on his $250,00 business.
What about our children? What about making sure that they have an earth upon which to live, and education that will prepapre them to prosper in the generations to come as well as an economy that can stimulate new technologies and create jobs for everyone?
Barack Obama has a good plan for people who wish to parent. He supports legislation that takes care of parents so they can care for the children who are this amazing country's future. Joe Biden knows about taking care of kids because he took care of his boys after his wife and daughter died. Barack Obama knows because he was raised by a single, struggling mom. Joe the Plumber also knows about parenting because he is raising a child of his own. But --- instead of focusing on the reality of how difficult it is to parent and what we may be up against as our economy worsens, McCain picked another unvetted campaign partner to rile up Americans about his tax problem. Joe the Plumber's problems are nothing compared to what awaits our children's destiny if we don't change this country's failed polices - now.
I asked my husband to create an Obama Mama ringtone for me and thought I'd share. It is free to download and brightened my day.

I want to thank each and every one of the members of this great Illinois group! We are the 2nd largest group in Illinois with 280 men and women, young and old, all working together to make history and bring change to our country! Our member activity is always high and the blogs and events are creative, diverse and much appreciated!
We started this adventure on Feb, 18 2007, not long after Barack announced his candidacy on that freezing morning in Springfield, IL! Most of us had never been involved in politics of any kind! At that time the website was a lot different than it is now and the only way we had of getting things going was to talk to each other, brainstorm for ideas, and reach out to others locally and nationally!
One of the very 1st people I met was a republican who liked Obama! She is one of the co-admins of this group and the admin of Moms for Obama, a very successful national group! Thank you Mid-America Mom!
We don't have too much time left before election day. Yet, we won't be saying good bye because I'm sure PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA will have plenty for us to do to help him change our country back to what it should be and put the government back into 'our' hands! I am very proud of each and every one of you, thank you, again, and I look forward to many years of working together!
