I've been in a financial hardship for the past several months due to a major job loss. In this time, I have consistently put in resumes, conducted follow-up calls, and made in-person visits hoping to land a stable position. Unfortunately, the economy is not cooperating with me; nor are prospective employers, who can't afford to take on more workers. So here I am...I'm hanging on by a thread but I still believe that our President, for whom I voted, is still going to turn this country around in a positive way.
That's why it's so critical that even if you're not in the best financial shape, healthy constitution, or otherwise, we must ALL do our part by participating in EVENTS that make a statement and create a buzz to generate REAL support for the issues in which we believe. My primary goal is to get a universal health care program installed in our governmental system -- if all else fails, I'll opt for the public option -- meanwhile, some politicians and media talking heads are trying to say that it can't be done.
They're trying to say that we "can't" have it.
They're trying to say that they don't care about us.
They're trying to say that we don't matter.
Well, we DO MATTER. And God willing, if we put our hearts, minds, and spirits together, we CAN get this thing off the ground. Sittting at home yelling at the news channel is not going to accomplish anything. Sitting at our desks, keying rants and raves about how we feel is not going to get it done.
The ONLY WAY we CAN GET REAL HEALTH CARE REFORM is if we PUT OUR THOUGHTS and WORDS to ACTION. Participate in events, organize events, help orchestrate a candlelight vigil, a rally, a sit-in, a march...DO WHATEVER IT TAKES to MAKE THEM LISTEN.
We will not go gently into the night. We will not fade into the sunset...TODAY IS OUR TIME. WE ARE THE ONES WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!! LET'S GET GOING!!!
Peace!!!
The Right Wingers are resulting to threats/violence and hate...We need to take charge and not stand there shocked....Take action....Yes, they are winning the attention war....We are losing the facts war because the legends that the RNC spins have become fact.....Thus, the myths become facts

O.k. I've had this idea for a while now but have refrained from posting it out of deference to our new Organizing Director. However we have heard nothing since the annoucement from David and we need to become active NOW, because if we continue to wait it will be too late when we finally do. So here is my suggestion. It was our ground game that won this election and had the Republicans shaking in their boots. Yet we are all acting like now our job is done and it's somebody elses responsibiliy. NO IT'S NOT; IT'S STILL OURS!!! We need to reactivate our ground game and direct it towards the organization of events across the country simply titled "ENOUGH!" All across the country we need to get all the Precinct Captains re-activated and contact as many Americans as we can to join together at central locations in every city and town to send a message to our government. Make signs with that simply message and even if people have to work they can also participate in the same manner by simply having a sign or a button. They could do so during their lunch breaks and after work where ever they are. Shop owner could post signs in the windows. Housewives and the unemployed in fact all families can tape American flags to their window or hang them outside their windows with the "ENOUGH" written across it. 100,000's thousands at a location and 10's of thousands more just walking the streets in their areas all sending the same message that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! It's time to support our President. He has stood up for us and now WE must stand up for him. People President Obama can only succeed if we make it clear to Congress, and the media, that they need to get on board with the President or face the consequencs. We should pick a day make this happen. If we don't the Republicans will continue work to erode his standing, and if we don't work with and for him they will succeed. The only thing necessary for evil to prevail is that good men people do nothing!! WHAT ARE WE DOING??
Guys what I'm thinking of is an action that will not only have a central point of gathering but which will also encompass an entire city or town should anyone not be able to get to a specific location at a specific time. Imagine seeing everywhere you look people and shop windows confronting you with the same message ... "Enough" We can do this. We only need to get people on the ball in every community where they live and then have one person responsible from that community to link up with a command center of sorts to coordinate the logistics. We need to build our own infrastructure of Activism for America and for our President. Dems and Reps are hurting in this economy and Financial ruin is and equal opportunity destroyer. So all American no matter what their affiliation should be standing up and saying "ENOUGH!!" Let me know you are with me and I'll get down to telling you how we get this thing off the ground ..... See I've already got that part partially figured out too LOL .... But I need help ;-)
Here is the e-mail address I set up specifically for this cause: enough.2009@yahoo.com
Please send anyone who has questions to this mail address. I also am in immediate need of a graphic artist!!! I have a wonderful design from one of our fellow bloggers Cynthia, it's fantastic bur Cyn' it not a Graphic Designer and it needs to look more professional. I want this to be our logo.
People is time to stand up!!! We've all given so much, but the road is long and we need to give more. Our children are depending on us to fight for their futures!!!! LET GET AT IT!!!
We also need to select a date ... Suggestions? I think we need at least 3 weeks to ramp this up properly.
Never as any one person created such a feeling of hope and joy as was created on election night by Barack Obama. Armed with pots, pans, a snare drum and a trumpet, four of my fiends and I set off for Red Square on the University of Washington campus in Seattle. When we got there, we found it was surprisingly empty. Despite having no audience, we got together, played the national anthem as best we could with the instruments at our disposal and then continued off to cheer through campus. As we reached the road to head home, we noticed a few block up a massive group of people, hundreds of college students large running towards the heart of campus. We realized then we had no choice but to follow them in celebration. We ran, beating out pots and pans, setting off cheers of yes we can and O-BA-MA. We once again reached Red Square, running through the now 500 people where were there, and while standing in front of the gothic style library’s stairs, started to sing. Starting as just a small murmur, we began to play the national anthem once again, my friend with the trumpet playing the melody, us the percussion. Soon, all 500 people were singing with us in the most moving rendition of the Star Spangled Banner I’ve ever heard.
After we finished, people started to run towards one of the near by bridges. We had no idea where they were going but decided that, once again, we had to follow. Because we were the only people setting a driving beat (unfortunately, in all of the confusion, we got separated from our trumpeter friend, leaving us four “percussionists”) we ended up leading the march to some unknown location. We crossed the university bridge, now blocking traffic in the south bound direction, slowing north bound traffic as busses, taxies and cars all slowed down to cheer for our march. As we began to talk to those around us, still beating our pots with spoons, we learned we were heading to capital hill, a total of four miles away. By now I had broken my spoon (twice) and was beating my pot with a large stick my friend had found on the side of the road. Our arms and voices were tired, but we had to continue. The crowd continued to respond to out beat, with more “yes we can”, “Yes we did” and “O-BA-MA.” People poured out of their houses and the local bars, joining us in our celebratory march. The realization that just a few decades ago marches of this magnitude occurred to end segregation had turned into the celebration of the election of the first African American president was an incredible feeling.
Finally, after much singing and marching, we reached out destination: 500 more screaming Obama fans in the heart of capital hill. My three friends and I formed a single-file line and snaked through the supporters, continuing the chanting until we reached the center, leading about 1000 people in the happiest celebratory mob in history. Wine and champagne flowed freely and fireworks filled the sky (all while the wonderfully understanding Seattle Police Department blocked the road and allowed us to celebrate). After much singing, we finally decided at 1:30 it was time to head home (as it was a school night). This decision was met by a random stranger offering us a full bottle of wine to stay, expressing that we were the backbone of the celebration. We kindly declined and with smiles on our faces, started the trek home, still beating out pots and pans, still causing cheers from anyone near us. Luckily, another friend of mine who hadn’t joined us came to pick us up so we wouldn’t have to make the long trek home at 1:30am.
I can honestly say I’ve never felt happier in my entire life. The next morning, my entire body hurt. I could barely walk or lift my arms my muscles were so sore. But it was entirely worth it. I would repeat everything if given the chance.

(all pictures copyright to Samme S. Samareta)This is Samme blogging from Sacramento, capital of California at the Rally on Repeal Prop. 8, Marriage Equality March. Thousands of people, men, women, teens and children rallied peacefully around the Sacramento Capitol that started around 10:30 AM. This rally is also organized around cities large and small in America and around the globe who would like to show their support for love, equality and human rights. Proposition 8 won on the Nov. 4 election which bans same sex marriage and it fosters discrimination and hate not just for our gays and lesbians brothers and sisters but it is also a violation on people's basic human rights and constitutional rights. The fact that this peaceful rally is happening around the globe is a testament to love, positive change and oneness. Love will prevail and love will win. All of my photos from this rally are now uploaded at my Flickr account. Check out my Sacramento Marriage Equality Rally photos at Flickr by clicking here. Men, women, teens and children marched shouting, "What do we want? Equality! When do we want it? Now!" Let us hope that Prop. 8 which is a proposition of H8 (hate) be repealed and overturned. Love and equality to all! Thank you, SammePassionately blogging for peace, love and equalityThe following photos are just a few of my selected ones that I uploaded to My Gaia Photos. It is not all of it, otherwise it will take time to load this page. : ) More Change Is Gonna Come!Kudos to the Street Team volunteers!!! We will see how this will turn out in the Obama administration.
My vote for the OBAMA fight song! (Mosh - by: Eminem)
"Come along follow me as I lead through the darknessAs I provide just enough spark that we need to proceedCarry on, give me hope, give me strengthCome with me and I won't steer you wrongPut your faith and your trust as I guide us through the fogTo the light at the end of the tunnelWe gonna fight, we gonna charge, we gonna stomp, we gonna marchThrough the swamp, we gonna mosh through the marshTake us right through the doors
All the people up top on the side and the middleCome together lets all bomb and swamp just a littleJust let it gradually build from the front to the backAll you can see is a sea of people some white and some blackDon't matter what color, all that matters we gathered togetherTo celebrate for the same cause don't matter the weatherIf it rains let it rain, yea the wetter the betterThey ain't gonna stop us they can't, we stronger now more than everThey tell us no we say yea, they tell us stop we say goRebel with a rebel yell, raise hell we gonna let em knowStomp, push, shove, mosh, 'forget' Bush, until they bring our troops home
And as we proceed,To Mosh through this desert storm,In these closing statements, if they should argueLet us beg to differAs we set aside our differencesAnd assemble our own armyTo disarm this Weapon of Mass DestructionThat we call our President, for the presentAnd Mosh for the future of our next generationTo speak and be heard!"Many may question my judgement by posting Eminem's song lyrics on my blog...but like many of us...I often look to music to express how I am feeling. Although Eminem wrote this song for the last election...four long dark Bush years later...the lyrics still ring true (shocker).
1) We must remember that loving our country and loudly disagreeing with the current administrations policies is AMERICAN! Sick and tired of this anti-American defense the GOP keeps slinging around.
2) I want our troops out of Iraq. That statement does not diminsih my unwavering support and utmost respct for our troops abroad!
Let us speak and be heard! OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT!
This blog is short and sweet just click on the link to the video and enjoy. I hope this will motivate us to get out there and and do all the hard work it is going to take to get Obama elected into the White House:

Yes, nearly $5 million to Mark Penn's company. Read about the March 2008 DEBTS here.
Hillary's $5 million dollar loan hasn't been paid back.
On interesting figure, she received receipts of money from 86,513 people in March. Not too many new people giving money. And if you look closely, you'll notice that 86,513 are not uniques, it's all receipts, including multiple $10-$15-or $25 dollar donations from the same person. I would guess it's around 30,000 individuals contributing....a whole lot less than the 500,000 new people, added in the past 4-6 weeks.

LETS MARCH ON
Lets keep moving on people with our heads up high, lets march on people for the victory will be ours. Lets keep our face towards the sun no matter the mud being slung. Lets keep stepping to that new day begun. They will call us dreamers and laugh at our Faith, they know not what we see, a better America in a better place. It is up to us now to show them the way and with every vote they will here us say,
Enough of the lies, enough of the war, enough of the division that rots us at our core. Enough of the insanely rich getting richer off the poor. It’s time to unite America and settle the score.
1 People
+1 America,
+1 USA
+1 NATION under GOD!
That’s zero for the opposition and America 4.
Today we had over a dozen Obama supporters march with the Citizens For Peace and Justice to mark the country's 5th year in Iraq. We gathered two pages of signatures from attendees who want to join the Obama movement! Also, thanks to great banner provided by Victoria and Christopher Law, we received local media coverage (KTVL/10-Medford). Thanks to all who braved the rain and cold to make our presence known in the community and support the CPJ!
Many thanks to the organizer of today's event, Allen Hallmark (CPJ)! It was nice of the group to allow us to join them at their march and rally!
Ya'll have an awesome weekend! Denise
Have you ever wanted to time travel to a place and a when that was purer, innocent, joyous and filled with the excitement and anxiety of adventure? Have you ever wanted to be able to relive an experience that perhaps you weren't even present for?
Then, maybe, this invitation will allow you to experience a magical time, a time you can explore and revisit time and time again. Whenever you need to be reminded of how far this campaign has come. Whenever you need to be reminded of the courage of those - most pointedly Barack Obama - who placed his entire political future on this gamble. The belief that millions of people would understand his vision and step forward to fund it and propel it.
Do you want to live on that shore? That moment when this was just a crazy idea of some Senator carrying on in Springfield, Illinois on a bitter cold February day? Some crazy black Senator whose momma was white and his daddy was African. Crazy.
If you'd like to do that kind of time travel... you can visit every campaign stop. You can see how the earliest supporters - I bet all of them are still active here now - blogging about their excitement and their near fear to even hope the incredible..... - you can visit their profiles and ask them to be your friends but first, you want to scroll to the bottom of the page when you go to "View All Blogs" (click on My Blog in your right navigation and then you'll see it). At the bottom of that page, you can click on "LAST".
The last...is the first. The first page of blogs on this website. This website unveiled shortly after Obama announced his candidacy and people began to donate building up to the 1 Million + donors here now.
Please... take time to restore your faith. Go back in time and visit the beginning.
Good morning Obama '08 supporters. I have posted often about one of the reasons I support Senator Obama is the work he has done on behalf of our Veterans, especially the homeless Iraqi war vets and those being denied their earned health care benefits by the VA.
Veterans for Peace are among the 1400 organizations that are planning pot lucks, marches and rallier on March 19th~the 5 year anniversay of entering Iraq to look for Weapons of Mass Destruction that were not there.
Interesting look at WMD at True Majority if you have a few moments to watch an animated cartoon type clip from Ben Cohen.
If you can join one of the groups rallies on March 19th be sure to wear your Obama gear. If you are unable to join the rally, I invite you to join two Blog Action Days. Theme: Peace. I am so tired of Hillary's election war, esepcially when my community brings her constant attacks here. I wake up with knots in my stomach afraid to check the news for fear of her latest attack. That is why I come here first and many are happy to keep me updated on what I do not want to do.
Please join a cyberspace March for Peace on March 15th and/or March 19th by blogging about peace.
Share your favorite Peace quote with us. Share your Top Ten List of Peace songs. Give us your tips on finding peace and quiet in a chaotic household. Tell us a story of how you resolved an explosive situation with a neigbhor or co-worker in a peaceful manner. Tell us about your favorite Peace Pilgrem.
Blog Action Day: Peace, March 15th and March 19th. Join us. Pass the word. Thank you.
Good Morning!
Here in Southern Oregon we are busy working for the Obama campaign. We also take the time to lend our support to other groups when it is needed. On Saturday, March 15th, we will be taking part in a peace rally/march to let it be known that the War in Iraq needs to stop-NOW! The theme is "5 Years Too Many". As you know, Senator Obama has opposed the war since the beginning. The event is being sponsored by Peace House and Citizens for Peace and Justice (CPJ). Please wear your Obama gear, make/bring signs and join us on the 15th at the Alba Park gazebo in Medford, Oregon about 10:45 Am. The event will be about 2 hours. Thanks! Denise
