Stephen King Under The Dome
Under the DomeBy Stephen King
Stephen King Writes a Spellbinding Supernatural Novel "UNDER THE DOME"On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when -- or if -- it will go away.Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens -- town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician's assistant at the hospital, a select-woman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing -- even murder -- to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry. But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn't just short. It's running out.Stephen King’s Under The DomeBook trailers are an interesting recent development in marketing. The very concept doesn’t make a whole lot of sense at first, seeing as books don’t actually have visual scenes to make a trailer out of, but done properly, they can be pretty effective tools for creating buzz around a new novel. And sometimes, they can be pretty cool. The trailer for Stephen King’s new book, Under The Dome, falls squarely into the “cool” category. The novel follows the inhabitants of a small town that is trapped in a huge, clear dome by unknown forces. Some say King’s best years are behind him; I disagree. That’s not to say I enjoy every last one of his books – hell, the man’s written so many, there’s no way they could all be great. But when he’s on, he’s one of the best writers in modern horror (and sometimes science fiction). To me, it seems that he’s at his best when he gives himself room to breathe, page-wise. The Stand is brilliant; so is It. Both are over 1000 pages. The Dark Tower series, his masterpiece, unfolds over the course of seven increasingly long books. Under The Dome will be 1088 pages long; hopefully, that means we can expect the epic storytelling and surprisingly personal character development the author, at his best, is capable of.Check out the trailer below; it’s short, but it got me kinda pumped for this book.

VISIONS OF 2012 DOOMSDAYDear Friend,Are you tired?Tired of all the misinformation out there about 2012?If you've done even one Google search on the topic you know what I'm talking about... SURVIVE 2012Where well-meaning “experts” went wrong... and why all the governments of the world ultimately decided not to tell you the truth. What is really going to happen in December of 2012... and exactly how millions will be devastated, and your world will be turned upside down... forever. How you can safeguard your life... and the lives of your family members. Because you really can survive... and spiritually thrive in the wake of this life-changing event.VISIONS OF 2012 DOOMSDAY - (1)VISIONS OF 2012 DOOMSDAY - (2)VISIONS OF 2012 DOOMSDAY - (3)VISIONS OF 2012 DOOMSDAY - (4)VISIONS OF 2012 DOOMSDAY - (5)The Underground Kingdom of Light - 1Journey Into The Resistance Movement - 2Galatic Wars - 3Liberation of the Planet Earth - 4Vision 2012 - 5It will begin suddenly, without warning. Many scandals that will disclose true backgound about how the System works will shake human masses. Disclosures about how international energetic megacompanies earn billions selling oil, preventing at the same time inventions of free energy to come to public. Disclosures about pharmaceutical trusts that earn money with "healing" diseases that are spread with viruses created in hidden laboratories. Disclosures about efficient cures for AIDS, cancer and other diseases that are known for quite some time, unkonwn to human masses. And about world media and censorship there, which is a logical consequence of a fact that few individuals own most worldly known newspaper, media and telecommunication companies. And finally disclosures about a secret world government that has most prominent politicians as its puppets and which creates profit out of wars and human suffering for millenia, a small group of beings that you work for in your jobs and voluntarily give them a significant amount of your monthly salary. When lists with names, supported with facts will be known, human masses will arise. When facts will be known about what is happening in the stock market and where the money really goes, this will create a world stock market crash and fall of the current monetary system. Riots will begin as a consequence of released emotional energy which was suppressed for so long. In the chaos of those days members of the Resistance movement will reveal themselves to humanity and give guidance and support. They will penetrate to the surface from their undergound realms and bring along technology that will help humanity to get over those critical moments. They will cure most of currently known diseases with their medicaments. With their free energy sources they will end world energy crisis and stop environmental pollution. They will bring information that will open the eyes of people. Finally people will realize that they have lived in quarantine for millenia. Money will disappear and will be replaced with exchange of goods based upon vibrational economy. The Resistance movement will assist in establishing new world government which will be chosen by humanity with its free will and that will lead humanity based on the principles of the Galactic codex. At that point the energy field of the planet will be cleared significantly. Memories of Atlantis will be returning to people and they will begin to create a New Atlantis, a new civillization of light. Buildings will be constructed in a combination of Atlantean and modern architecture which will be in harmony with nature. Many will be in a pyramidal or half spherical shape. Spiritually developed individuals will begin to gather in New age communities, so called islands of light. Everybody there will follow his vision aligned with the divine plan in deep connection with the universe. When people will release the past, everybody will experience clarity of mind, emotional aliveness and physical health. The basic cell of society in islands of light will not be a family of personalities (father, mother and children) but a family of souls (twin souls, soulmates and other members of a soul family). People will connect there energetically and telepathically with angels, guides and extraterestrials. Through islands of light a physical connection between the surface of the planet and extraterrestrial civillizations will be established. There will be teleportation chambers in islands of light through which it will be possible to travel into the Resistance movement, for some people into the Atlantean network and also towards the Pleiadian motherships. When the network of light will be strong and stable enough this will enable mass landings of Pleiadian starships. The Pleiadians will assist humanity during its transition towards the New age and with the process of acceptance of this planet into the Galactic confederation. They will anchor energy columns that will guide planet Earth throuh its transformation during its entry into the inner section of the tachyon belt. When the critical mass of consciousness will be achieved the first wave of Ascension will occur. Motherships of the Galactic confederation will hover as brilliant white clouds above the islands of light, where teleportation beams will descend and lift the volunteers into the motherships. Those volunteers will reappear on Earth shortly in Ascended state in their rainbow bodies of light. Soon afterwards another critical mass will be achieved and the second wave of Ascension will happen. Masses of Ascended masters that will return to Earth will prepare humanity for the third wave of Ascension and for the Evacuation. Great planetary cataclisms will begin then as a cleansing of the physical matter of the planet. At the moment of most intensive cataclisms a polar shift will happen and that will trigger the third wave of Ascension with final Evacuation. Linear time as we know it will end and Earth will enter a new, higher dimension. This is a moment when the Mayan calendar ends, a moment in 2012.
More money needs to be allocated by Governments toward PROMOTION of climate change evidence. Plenty of television programmes have been produced to underline the impact on the planet of global warming, the melting of sea ice, rising sea levels, the knock-on effect of weather patterns from melting ice, destruction of habitat and wildlife such as in the Amazon rainforest and the impact on human life etc. With more funding various top networks could be utilized to broadcast these programmes on a dedicated climate change television and internet channel. Many networks only show programmes which get high ratings, so the creation of climate/environmental television and internet channel must be created to get more support, to generate more investment in alternative energy industry, and to broadcast energy saving initiatives to the public.
Government could easily find more money for a climate-only television channel. For example, the amount of money spent on defense spending could be reduced by a mere 1 or 2 percent to make funds available to get a climate channel going. The World Bank could be used for the creation of a dedicated climate channel in many countries, and to have it broadcasted via the web. A proportion of alcohol and cigarette tax could be allocated for a climate fund, to assist in the initial stage of the creation of a climate change channel. The public needs to be educated more on these issues, and investors will follow the trend of alternative energy creation very quickly if the climate issue is promoted more and more.Russell S.Wyllie of http://www.Youtube.com/RealClimateNews
One of the joys of the 2008 campaign season was seeing the development of donor participation for those of us of limited means. Just about anyone could be a player in the great game of the life of the nation. And with those words, I have put myself on the side of those who wrote the Declaration of Independence, who often horrified those who felt administration should always lie in the hands of the few.
I am one of those Baby Boomers, end of the first crop, who grew up believing in the ideals we were taught in school, the public system designed to prepare the masses for industrialized society, the one which led the majority of citizens to believe we were solidly in the middle class, that it was indeed the norm to consider Americans as a whole to be middle class. The 1950's were quite a snow job. Women were herded back into the home, the OSS became the CIA and the government moved right - being right(wing) was being right(All-American). And if you thought otherwise, HUAC might be at your door should those thoughts be spoken publicly.
So much was built on the psychology of propaganda, perfected by artists such as Riefenstal - I first saw her "Olympiad" broadcast at or after midnight on a New Year's Eve around 1960. People didn't used to believe me, but I found an item published on the showing somewhere along the line. That was Kansas, the epitome of conventionality, during the final spurt of HUAC's bile. Only in the last few years did I learn of the connection between HUAC and the Free Speech Movement. So much of history goes unreported as it is made, and much of it after...
Reifenstal has always seemed a bizarre figure to me - so creative, yet creative in support of hate. She never reneged, either. Art is generally life-affirming... I do not really want to get inside her mind, to understand her that deeply, and yet, I think there is a key. We certainly did pick up propaganda in a serious way in this country after WWII. It pervaded our society. The elephant in the American living room is denial... and society-wide advertising supported it in a very deep way.
Somehow, "consumer" became a badge of pride - pride in the ability to spend - which is rather bizarre, if you really think about it. And the ideas pervaded our society. We actually, in practice, became a nation of gamblers, focused on duplication of throw-aways. And we were told that this was good. We were also told that God loves those who earn Big Bucks and that those who retain Big Bucks are truly the angels. And if you think those to be lies, ask a CPA about our tax system.
And so I truly value the arrival of internet tools for the small donor - I believe Act Blue is one of the truly democratic institutions we now have. Two of the 3 funds I follow and can occasionally donate through are powered by Act Blue. And thank Emily's List, who pioneered the concept in pre-internet days. Whatever your politics, learning how to draw in the masses was pioneered by them.
There is so much to be done. We have just-in-time tools to achieve survival, not much leeway. Let's dig in!

They're not much happier about a revised version that aides to Sen. Jay Rockefeller, a West Virginia Democrat, have spent months drafting behind closed doors. CNET News has obtained a copy of the 55-page draft of S.773 (excerpt), which still appears to permit the president to seize temporary control of private-sector networks during a so-called cybersecurity emergency."

Any politician that votes for, or is in support of, this bill (or any resemblance of this bill) will lose my vote and should lose every vote. DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE Washington. I will personally go door to door and convience any and all voters that all supporters of this idea should be fired. I know I will not get them all, but I have a feeling no one can afford the votes. What good is health care without liberty (on or off the net)?

Just read this post a while ago: http://markcrispinmiller.com/2009/08/att-blocking-dissidents/ about a blogger who was denied access to certain sites during the 2004-2005 elections. Well then, the block was due to his ISP, AT&T, that required him to use an annonymous proxy to get to his sites.
Anyway, is there a pattern here? People like JFK Fan and Taz gets put down while hacker blogs take free reign of the Community Blogs. Strange blocks, take downs, and post blocking (blog posts that fail to show up) on the Community Blogs, and the final blow with the shut down of the Community Blogs, well, could this be a pattern to a complete Internet shutdown?! Like a Prison Planet?
Something to think about.

Hi,
I'm Mike. I just started to really get rollin' with this new laptop. Up until now, I had been limping along on a 12 year old computer with a ten year old operating sytem from a half century old operator. After quite a bit of setting up time, it's time to Rock n Roll, or Rise n Shine.
Speaking of Rise and Shine, the group "Chicago Rise and Shine, Change is Coming", recently met just before I purchased my new laptop. This is an extraordinary yet well grounded group that has been meeting monthly upon the grace of the administer, Elsie.
Elsie has managed to bring some fascinating guest speakers on timely issues. As this group has struggled to get traction, turnout has been resilient. The diversification of the group belies the broadbase interest in uniting.
The most recent meeting hosted guest speaker Frank Edwards of the Chi-Town Daily News. An on-line community newspaper of high journalistic integrity. Frank spoke of the era of newspapers (on paper) being transcended by the technological advances trending toward electronic journalism. The topic inspired discussion on the need to work at maintaining (and providing) ethical standards in realm of information saturation.
To the Chi-Town Daily's credit Frank also signed up some in the group to take classes on journalism fundamentals and ethics that are offered as a necessary step to being a volunteer reporter for the paper er, online news (there I go again with the old school).
Greg, a group member that has already successfully done community organizing, was extremely interested in technological strides providing more positive opportunities for individuals to focus. I (Mike), pointed out that government and regulations tended to be reactive and needed to start getting "a little ahead of the game". I think the group generally indicated support for the idea of putting together some statement regarding the internet restructuring improvements that could provide for a level of authenticity, that perhaps heightens ethics while at the same time filtering some of the vile content, as a recommendation.
While this group has had rich discussion at each meeting, there remains a sense of isolation that I feel in part is due to the lack of support for the non-partisan. I am not talking financially as much as philosophically. The push of late is for the group (or at least members of the group) to participate in OFA (Organize for America). This would be fine and dandy if there wasn't underlying indoctrination of the DNC. This in the minds of our independant, as well as republican members is distasteful and counterproductive. Don't get us wrong, all of us adore Obama. We strain to keep from gushing on him from time to time. Some of us though, want the DNC to just leave us alone and work on getting their own house in order, while we continue to try to focus on our multitasking.
Hoje durante a aula com o Prof.Jairo ele tocou em dois pontos que eu pretendo utilizar bastante no desenvolvimento de meu projeto final. A Democracia e a Internet.
Part 1 of an article I wrote for jewishinstlouis.org
Every art student learns about the fair use principle, granting us permission to use any image in our artwork as long as we transform it so that it conveys new meaning. But beyond that all-encompassing definition, we don’t know what transgressions, if any, we are actually committing.
Recently in the news is the preemptive lawsuit artist Shepard Fairey filed against the Associated Press. According to Fairey the AP threatened to sue him unless he pays royalties for the image that he used as source material for his now famous campaign poster of Barack Obama. Fairey argues that he is protected by the fair use principle. He claims that his intention was not to reproduce any particular image, but instead was to capture a specific gaze representative of the ideas of hope and change.
In an interview on NPR, Fairey declared he was going forward with this suit on behalf of all artists, the thousands of artists that created their own campaign images in the same grassroots manner, pulling images from the web in support of the message of hope, change and a new administration in Washington.
screen shot of: first page of google image search results for "Barack Obama"
I am fascinated by Fairey’s implication that the process of appropriating and re-contextualizing Google image search results might be considered a grassroots action. As an artist, I frequently use images that that I find on Google. Like Fairey suggested, my motivation for using these images is to highlight the search itself, not the derivative image.
Perhaps then, these cyber Robin Hoodian actions—using and transforming Google image search results—are capable of changing the structures that control the dissemination of information. After all, the order that information appears in Google searches is determined by the amount of people searching any given topic. And as a result of the Fairey’s appropriation, his campaign poster may be forever linked to Obama’s presidency.
email from President Obama
Obama’s popularity can be credited to his skillfully constructed presidential campaign that effortlessly linked his name to hope. I was quick to jump onto Obama’s online campaign message of hope. Like many others, I subscribed to his twitter, facebook, and YouTube pages. I now get weekly emails from him and I even have a blog on his site…
My ideas in reforming the U.S. health care system will relies, also, on the Information Technology (IT) and prevention as developed in my previous blog " Organizing Health Care System: Time is Ripe for Action". I will like to bring to your attention this report as following posted in consulting firm blog.
"Upon assuming office, U.S. President Barack Obama made it clear that reforming healthcare is a top priority for his new administration. But unlike past attempts at healthcare reform that concentrated on the cost of coverage, it appears that today’s healthcare reform debate will revolve around the delivery of healthcare itself. Many experts in the field, such as Dr. Paul Grundy, director of healthcare transformation at IBM, believe this approach is ideal for tackling issues from the quality of care to the cost-effectiveness of medicine. “There is a real understanding this time that there needs to be an adult conversation around ‘what is it we buy,’” he says. “This is the first time we’ve really begun to focus on that issue as part of the reform.”
Technology provides the basis for sweeping reform"Despite the current state of healthcare, Grundy is optimistic about the new administration’s emphasis on modernizing the field with technology, as he notes that developments in technology are poised to make reform economically attractive. Using IT to make healthcare smarter, he explains, may save billions for American businesses—and provide employees with a better quality of life. “We have huge issues around errors and medical errors, which are hugely expensive,” Grundy says. “In a system where you have something as simple as electronic prescribing, you see a 90 percent reduction in medical errors because you have a system in place that identifies, warns you, prevents you from having that error occur.”
"As an example, Grundy points to pilot programs such as the ActiveCare Network pharmaceutical program, which can lower the cost of drug therapies by up to 90 percent by ensuring that the right drug is used on the right patient at the right time. These kinds of programs, he says, are being closely examined by the Obama administration as models for how to prioritize healthcare. “We have the pyramid upside down,” he explains. “We take our money, and we spend it on heart transplants and MRIs until the money goes away—and it never reaches down to covering comprehensive, robust prevention and primary care.”

Thanks so much for your comments and attention on this blog.
I was again amazed at President Obama's eloquence in his address to Congress tonight. It's almot uncanny how he seems to just know what's on my mind. With a mother on medicare, a 6-year old son, and a career in homebuilding, his focus on health care, education, and energy hit all my high notes. But just how is it that he is so tuned in to the issues on Americans' minds? How is it that his vernacular, the language of his administration, seems to mirror a collective consciousness more than many presidents before him?
And then, as I watched CNN"s post-game wrapup, it occurred to me. With nods to Facebook surveys and Twittering by Senators during the speech, CNN embraced the world that Obama has already seamless integrated into his administration. Obama gets the Internet, the wireless world. He uses it daily, just like us working stiffs. And he and his team have developed an online presence, through this site, Recovery.gov, and others, that allows milllions to feel heard. Even me.
It has made the president suddenly accessible. He is listening to us. And I, for one, really like it.
