This video is dedicated to the movement that has taken place in this country. We couldn't have done it without Barack Obama and the millions of people who work for change everyday...
This year for the first time since the 1960’s many young people have become engaged in politics and now comes a new documentary film that compares today’s youth movement to the one of forty years ago.
The Bay Area’s own Arturo Perez showcases WHERE HAVE ALL THE FLOWERS GONE? You'll journey with him as he takes you down a hilarious and emotional roller coaster as he and his two friends search for the voices of the future. I think it's important for voters to imagine what kind of presidency each Democratic candidate might have based on what we know of them as indicated by the way they have run their campaigns.
Senator Clinton's campaign has accepted funding from lobbyists and special interests but appears to be in fiscal chaos, spending huge sums on perks and running into debt. Some of her staff members have resigned due to disagreements with the candidate, her husband or other staff. The talk emanating from her campaign has been shown to be calculated: outright lies, crying, intimidation, exaggerations and fear mongering. There seems to be a sense of denial regarding the failure of these tactics as evidenced by their repeated use. The former president, her husband, is constantly meddling in her campaign, going off message and making outrageous statements.
Imagine them in the White House. Does she run things the way you think our country should be managed? Do you think "First Gentleman" Bill Clinton will stop meddling?
Senator Obama has taken his campaign directly to the people. His grassroots campaign has raised more funds than Senators Clinton's and McCain's combined! His staff has been solid, dedicated and devoted. His talks are focused on the issues, inspiring, educating, motivating and on message. He speaks truth to power, even though it is sometimes very difficult. His assessment of his winning campaign is realistic without being boastful. His wife, Michelle, is supportive, intelligent, and warm and outreaching to the voters. And she keeps him real!
Imagine them in the White House! Imagine how proud you will be to have them represent you on the world stage when they are meeting leaders of other countries. Imagine how comfortable you will be when you know he is using his skills and working to bring leaders, countries and people together to work on solutions for the growing problems that we all face. Imagine how secure you will feel to know he is working to solve the challenges that face our country and our people.
Imagine President and Mrs Barak Obama! Yes we Can!
A couple of years ago, I was swept up in the "Thoughts Become Things" movement. I admit my fault of electing George W. Bush into office, not once, but twice. I, of course did the exact opposite physically in the voting booth. I do still however take full responsiblity of electing George W. Bush because I thought and thought so hard about how badly I did not want him to be our president.
This time around I am doing things very differently. I have refused to look at polls that show Obama not in the lead, or listen to a newscast that speaks negatively of him in anyway. I just turn off my thoughts if they start to worry that there could be any outcome other than Obama as our President. And today, I take full resposiblity that Obama is becoming a phenomenon of a great and positive nature.
I literally sit and think "President Obama" "First Lady Michelle" "President Obama greeted with flowers in Iraq". I was so racked with guilt in realizing my fault in the 00' and 04' elections, that I have vowed to make as many mighty differences as I can in this 08' election. So here I sit thinking "Obama listens to scientists and cuts emissions 80% by 2020" "Obama creates tremendous job growth" "Obama gives foreclosed houses back to families" "Obama unites country and has 100% approval rating" "Obama saves Earth and so do his supporters"
So, you can blame me for Bush so long as you rejoice in me for Obama!
Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today...
Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religon too Imagine all the people Living life in peace...
You may say i'm a dreamer But i'm not the only one I hope some day you'll join us And the world will be as one
Imagine no possesions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger In a brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world...
Obama 08
Yes We CAN!
Ready for Change
I was inspired by a blog tonight.
Blowin' in the Wind
(o.k., I give up, I've tried and tried, but I can't get a link to work-sorry)
I'd like to continue this lyrical play, a little longer.
There are so many song lyrics that inspire us, the kind that tug at our hearts. There are so many that we could apply to Senator Obama.........
How about a little Janis Joplin?
"An' I don't want much outa life,
I never wanted a mansion in the south.
I just-a want to find someone sincere
Who'd treat me like he talks,
One good man.
Oh honey don't you know that I've been looking.
Oh, one good man
Ain't much, honey it ain't much,
Oh, its only everything.
All right."
Barack Obama is 'one good man', and a 'simple man'; like the Lynard Skynard song:
"And be a simple kind of man. Be something you love and understand. Be a simple kind of man. Won't you do this for me son, If you can? Forget your lust for the rich man's gold All that you need is in your soul, And you can do this if you try. All that I want for you my son, Is to be satisfied." And my comment to the link above: from Bob Dylan, "Blowin' in the Wind " and John Lennon's, "Imagine"
"Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man haveBefore he can hear people cry?"Barack Obama can see and hear us: the average American, the diversity of the nation. Isn't that what we need?"Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls flyBefore they're forever banned?"He opposed this war before it started. He praises diplomacy! Isn't that what we need?"You may say that I'm a dreamerBut I'm not the only oneI hope someday you'll join usAnd the world will be as one"Imagine that! Isn't that just what we need?
With a song in my heart, good night, fellow Obama supporters,
