Just a little disclaimer and some more info about us here...
First, if you think, looking at the picture of me and my horse, that I don't look disabled, think again. That picture is nearly 10 years old, and if you look closely, I was wearing a back brace then. Since then I have had 3 cervical discs replaced with "spacers" (the FDA has not yet approved the actual disc replacements yet - see the next paren), and been diagnosed with 5 herniated lumbar discs (awaiting FDA approval of surgical techniques successfully used in Europe for years), emphysema, arthritis and a myriad of other health problems, including a TBI (traumatic brain injury) that affects my cognitive abilities.
My poor old horse ain't gettin' any younger, either. He was mildly foundered years ago, and has an arthritic shoulder from a fall we took. The last time I was on his back was to ride him to the polls, fully tricked out in banners and flags for our candidate, on Election Day 2006 to vote for Texas Governor. The 5 mile round trip was about all either of us could manage. Both our tails were dragging by the time we got home - but we made our statement!
Second, I am not noted for my tact nor my political correctness. Just to support that statement, I'll say that Jack Nicholson and Bill Mayer are two of my favorite celebrities. That should tell you something! So, if you're easily offended, you can leave - don't go away mad, just go away. Don't complain; I do enough of that all by myself!
On the other hand, if you're serious about helping elders and disabled persons obtain better living conditions, then you'll just have to overlook my abrasive personality, and look at the beauty of this plan. Yes, of course, this is a self-serving enterprise, but if I can help myself AND help others at the same time, I can die peacefully, knowing I have left a legacy of good.
Http://savingtails.blogspot.com only outlines the PAL Community; I have published more details of the plan in other places, but I'll be darned if I can remember where ... I guess I'll have to re-write it. (A mind is a terrible thing to lose.)
Finally, I am in serious need of organizational help for this project! If you have the skills and/or funds necessary to help us obtain 501c3 status, funding, grant writing, advertsing, lobbying, or just want to help by being a supporter, please join my team in groups, blogs, causes, or wherever you find me. I may post on Facebook (see Critter Link), MySpace, Twitter, and wherever else I am.. Meanwhile, you may be able to find PAL by Googling "savingtails" , "critterlink", "Critter Link" or "PAL Community".
Addendum: My keyboard is worn out and sticky, and I'm a lousy typist, so I make lots of typos that i don't always catch. Please pardon me; I do the best I can.

BUDDY THE HORSE GOES BUGGY FOR OBAMA
I am traveling by Horse and buggy http://hometown.aol.com/vote4barackobama/myhomepage/election.html
I am seeking supporters who will let me stay at their properties over night as i tie buddy to the rear of buggy and he eats hay and sleeps. Stalls are great too and so are fenced fields of green grass. Thats buddys favorite thing. He loves to run and kick his hind legs in the air above his head height as he frolicks with freedom in a pasture.
I do seek to help more in rural appalachia and not big cities as Buddy is not fond of the traffic and Barack has lots of city support.
I also seek someone to do logistics in arranging to find me these locations as i travel south for the winter.
Presently i am in Lancaster county Pa. 5 miles south. I can be shipped by uhaul to cover distances if needed. I seek no pay just help along the way.
PS: My arm was broken 3 1/2 weeks ago and i am almost ready to leave this old dairy barn this weekend and help the campaign.
hugs Danielle Clarke
NOTE: This is about BUDDY GOING BUGGY FOR OBAMA not Danielle and please email me at vote4barackobamaATaolDOTcom but please be serious and helpful asi get too many emails of simple supprt while what i need are emails with logistical help.
I want to thank you all who responded to me in the other first blog. I will get a diary and write in it every day. I hope to ride him from southeastern lancaster county to noerthwestern lancaster county on july 5th and 6th to pick up my carriage. I will surely take pics as soon as i can get a digital camera.
Today was a great day for me and Buddy (my horses name) :) I harnessed him and at first let rebeca an amish teen show me how to drive him with the cart and then she went back to the house while i drove him another 2 times around a 30 acre farm trail and then back to the barn. That was the first time i ever did this. Oh i had rode a jenny when i was a teen in N Calif. I then got on his back after rebeca did. I had to use a bucket to get on.. i am fasting 2 days now and plan to lose 20 lbs and get back down to 155lbs or less soon. I was bareback and well buddy was tired. He was so sweet and then i took him over and washed him down. I now realize he is only gonna be 3 in febuary so i can't really ride him much even though he is a big halflinger. When he is 3 it will be ok. However he can pull a carriage for about an hour a day for the first week and then 2 hours the next week and then 3 hours thereafter. In time he may be able to go more but i have to go slow and let him grow. Of course he and i will always stop and rest at places and meet new people and i am sure i will have to watch him carefully as time goes by. Oh i also have been cleaning his hoves and making sure the thrush isn't there and i did shoe a horse when i was a teen. Well i just wanted to say hi and thank you all and well i will be surlely working on the amish vote as i help them with loading hay and picking crops etc etc etc in hopes i get places to hang for a day or 2. I did load 500 bales for another amish farmer last week. We did that by horse drawn carts and gas powered baler. Me and the father and 2 sons and one daughter did it all in 4 hours and loaded it in the barn. 6 carts filled. Yes i worked very hard and lifted bales over my head and i got many blisters ...ouch...
Anyway i will try to stay in touch and i am hoping to be able to get online at least once a week. Eventually i do plan to get my way down past gettysburg and into maryland and into the shenadoah valley virginia. I then hope to be able to settle in west virginia this winter.
hugs love Danielle :)))))))
Hillary led in the African American community until two weeks ago when she said Martin Luther King and Barack Obama were just talkers and dreamers- not doers. "It took a president." she said.Today she said- "I'm a work horse, not a show horse." But what are the facts?
I've gotten sick of this criticism so I did some research- seems as if there are two horses working. One a little better than the other: Hillary Clinton has sponsored 350 bills since Jan 22, 2001, of which 304 haven't made it out of committee (Very Poor) and 2 were successfully enacted (Average, relative to peers). Clinton has co-sponsored 1706 bills during the same time period (Average, relative to peers). Source: www.Govtrack.com Barack Obama has sponsored 129 bills since Jan 4, 2005, of which 120 haven't made it out of committee (Average) and 1 were successfully enacted (Average, relative to peers). Obama has co-sponsored 529 bills during the same time period (Average, relative to peers). Source: www.Govtrack.com
Hillary sits on 12 committees:
Member, Senate Committee on Armed Services Member, Subcommittee on AirlandMember, Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and CapabilitiesMember, Subcommittee on Readiness and Management SupportMember, Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works Chairman, Subcommittee on Superfund and Environmental HealthMember, Subcommittee on Clean Air and Nuclear SafetyMember, Subcommittee on Transportation and InfrastructureMember, Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Member, Subcommittee on Children and FamiliesMember, Subcommittee on Employment and Workplace SafetyMember, Senate Special Committee on Aging
Barack sits on 13 committees:
Member, Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Chairman, Subcommittee on European AffairsMember, Subcommittee on African AffairsMember, Subcommittee on East Asian and Pacific AffairsMember, Subcommittee on International Development and Foreign Assistance, Economic Affairs and International Environmental ProtectionMember, Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Member, Subcommittee on Children and FamiliesMember, Subcommittee on Employment and Workplace SafetyMember, Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Member, Subcommittee on Ad Hoc Subcommittee on State, Local, and Private Sector Preparedness and IntegrationMember, Subcommittee on InvestigationsMember, Subcommittee on Federal Financial Management, Government Information, Federal Services, and International SecurityMember, Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs
Don't believe the hype, Barack Obama is a strong candidate with a strong record. He has worked hard for all of his constituents. Regardless of race or gender. In Illinois: Sponsored 233 bills pertaining to Health Care Sponsored 125 bills pertaining to Poverty and Public assistance Sponsored 112 bills pertaining to Crime, Corrections and the Death Penalty Sponsored 97 bills pertaining to Economy, Business and Finance Sponsored 62 bills pertaining to Education Sponsored 60 bills pertaining to Civil and Human Rights Civil Rights Lawyer, Community Activist, Professor of Constitutional Law... More than 800 bills sponsored in 8 years in Illinois, passing tough Legislation on the Death Penalty, Video taped Interrogations, Health Care, Racial Profiling, Job Skills Training, Campaign Finance Reform, Privacy for Sexual Assault Victims etc...
