Stephen King Under The Dome
Under the DomeBy Stephen King
Stephen King Writes a Spellbinding Supernatural Novel "UNDER THE DOME"On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when -- or if -- it will go away.Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens -- town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician's assistant at the hospital, a select-woman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing -- even murder -- to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry. But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn't just short. It's running out.Stephen King’s Under The DomeBook trailers are an interesting recent development in marketing. The very concept doesn’t make a whole lot of sense at first, seeing as books don’t actually have visual scenes to make a trailer out of, but done properly, they can be pretty effective tools for creating buzz around a new novel. And sometimes, they can be pretty cool. The trailer for Stephen King’s new book, Under The Dome, falls squarely into the “cool” category. The novel follows the inhabitants of a small town that is trapped in a huge, clear dome by unknown forces. Some say King’s best years are behind him; I disagree. That’s not to say I enjoy every last one of his books – hell, the man’s written so many, there’s no way they could all be great. But when he’s on, he’s one of the best writers in modern horror (and sometimes science fiction). To me, it seems that he’s at his best when he gives himself room to breathe, page-wise. The Stand is brilliant; so is It. Both are over 1000 pages. The Dark Tower series, his masterpiece, unfolds over the course of seven increasingly long books. Under The Dome will be 1088 pages long; hopefully, that means we can expect the epic storytelling and surprisingly personal character development the author, at his best, is capable of.Check out the trailer below; it’s short, but it got me kinda pumped for this book.
UNDER THE DOME BY STEPHEN KING
VISIONS OF 2012 DOOMSDAYDear Friend,Are you tired?Tired of all the misinformation out there about 2012?If you've done even one Google search on the topic you know what I'm talking about... SURVIVE 2012Where well-meaning “experts” went wrong... and why all the governments of the world ultimately decided not to tell you the truth. What is really going to happen in December of 2012... and exactly how millions will be devastated, and your world will be turned upside down... forever. How you can safeguard your life... and the lives of your family members. Because you really can survive... and spiritually thrive in the wake of this life-changing event.VISIONS OF 2012 DOOMSDAY - (1)VISIONS OF 2012 DOOMSDAY - (2)VISIONS OF 2012 DOOMSDAY - (3)VISIONS OF 2012 DOOMSDAY - (4)VISIONS OF 2012 DOOMSDAY - (5)The Underground Kingdom of Light - 1Journey Into The Resistance Movement - 2Galatic Wars - 3Liberation of the Planet Earth - 4Vision 2012 - 5It will begin suddenly, without warning. Many scandals that will disclose true backgound about how the System works will shake human masses. Disclosures about how international energetic megacompanies earn billions selling oil, preventing at the same time inventions of free energy to come to public. Disclosures about pharmaceutical trusts that earn money with "healing" diseases that are spread with viruses created in hidden laboratories. Disclosures about efficient cures for AIDS, cancer and other diseases that are known for quite some time, unkonwn to human masses. And about world media and censorship there, which is a logical consequence of a fact that few individuals own most worldly known newspaper, media and telecommunication companies. And finally disclosures about a secret world government that has most prominent politicians as its puppets and which creates profit out of wars and human suffering for millenia, a small group of beings that you work for in your jobs and voluntarily give them a significant amount of your monthly salary. When lists with names, supported with facts will be known, human masses will arise. When facts will be known about what is happening in the stock market and where the money really goes, this will create a world stock market crash and fall of the current monetary system. Riots will begin as a consequence of released emotional energy which was suppressed for so long. In the chaos of those days members of the Resistance movement will reveal themselves to humanity and give guidance and support. They will penetrate to the surface from their undergound realms and bring along technology that will help humanity to get over those critical moments. They will cure most of currently known diseases with their medicaments. With their free energy sources they will end world energy crisis and stop environmental pollution. They will bring information that will open the eyes of people. Finally people will realize that they have lived in quarantine for millenia. Money will disappear and will be replaced with exchange of goods based upon vibrational economy. The Resistance movement will assist in establishing new world government which will be chosen by humanity with its free will and that will lead humanity based on the principles of the Galactic codex. At that point the energy field of the planet will be cleared significantly. Memories of Atlantis will be returning to people and they will begin to create a New Atlantis, a new civillization of light. Buildings will be constructed in a combination of Atlantean and modern architecture which will be in harmony with nature. Many will be in a pyramidal or half spherical shape. Spiritually developed individuals will begin to gather in New age communities, so called islands of light. Everybody there will follow his vision aligned with the divine plan in deep connection with the universe. When people will release the past, everybody will experience clarity of mind, emotional aliveness and physical health. The basic cell of society in islands of light will not be a family of personalities (father, mother and children) but a family of souls (twin souls, soulmates and other members of a soul family). People will connect there energetically and telepathically with angels, guides and extraterestrials. Through islands of light a physical connection between the surface of the planet and extraterrestrial civillizations will be established. There will be teleportation chambers in islands of light through which it will be possible to travel into the Resistance movement, for some people into the Atlantean network and also towards the Pleiadian motherships. When the network of light will be strong and stable enough this will enable mass landings of Pleiadian starships. The Pleiadians will assist humanity during its transition towards the New age and with the process of acceptance of this planet into the Galactic confederation. They will anchor energy columns that will guide planet Earth throuh its transformation during its entry into the inner section of the tachyon belt. When the critical mass of consciousness will be achieved the first wave of Ascension will occur. Motherships of the Galactic confederation will hover as brilliant white clouds above the islands of light, where teleportation beams will descend and lift the volunteers into the motherships. Those volunteers will reappear on Earth shortly in Ascended state in their rainbow bodies of light. Soon afterwards another critical mass will be achieved and the second wave of Ascension will happen. Masses of Ascended masters that will return to Earth will prepare humanity for the third wave of Ascension and for the Evacuation. Great planetary cataclisms will begin then as a cleansing of the physical matter of the planet. At the moment of most intensive cataclisms a polar shift will happen and that will trigger the third wave of Ascension with final Evacuation. Linear time as we know it will end and Earth will enter a new, higher dimension. This is a moment when the Mayan calendar ends, a moment in 2012.
Dear Friends at "Change Begins with YavapaiC";
I'm logging in "Organizing for America" (my.barackobama.com) at least twice daily to find postings by our group members. To my disappointment there are practicaly no postings available. I thouht that this would be the wall that we would all visit from time to time as a bulletin board as means for our communication.
Chip and Lou Ann, also Keren Clark do inform us via email as events are being planned, but I think our group members are missing out by not sharing thoughts as deemed necessary for good exchange prior to any gatherings.
I propose to agree on some form of exchange of thoughts regarding the unfolding of these historical times with Barack. There must be lots of ideas, questions, unknowns, doubts and the like that we together could get some light shed on or questions answered, anxieties calmed. We are missing out here and since we all want the Barack Obama Administration to succeed, we must have a closer tie to be developed amongst our like mindset.
I hope I'm not coming on too strong, but really want to get beyond wishful thinking or just waiting for the next gathering.
Another observation; we have to get to that website, desktop, laptop or mobile and read those posts. I see posts that are begging for replies but there are NONE.
I'm looking forward to see you guys March 1, Sunday at Casa Bonita! See you there.
So...now that we have worked our tails off to bring about change, I have been thinking what role i will serve and want to serve in the new american landscape, and here, wanted to give a shout out to any and all geeks in the columbus metro area who would like to join together to form a Columbus Metro "TechCorp" (like Americorp) to help serve local nonprofit and social services agencies and their clients.
THE POPULATION:Columbus Ohio is the fastest growing tech economy in the United States (Forbes Magazine, 2008), and hosts myriad nonprofit and social services being both the largest city in the state and, being the seat of the statehouse. Without even opening Firstlink's annual directory of nonprofits---which measures inches thick---there are more causes and issue focus group in Columbus Metro than any other locale in the state. A small percentage of those can afford IT staff and they all have IT needs even if they can staff. From traditional avenues such as hunger, health, education, to lesser known but empowering organizations such as---lower popwer FM stations, Linux freeware groups, youth arts programming---in whetver way you produce, support, utilize technological resources---there are likely to be causes your expertise can be aimed to support.
THE NEED:Beyond the idea of a "digital divide", beyond access issues, the Columbus Metro nonprofit community faces unique challenges that will need be met over the comign decade.First, an able and available community of information and communication technology (ICT) professionals ready to serve where they are needed. Despite being the largest potential nonprofit service delivery economy in the state---there are few IT service providers in Columbus dedicated to serving the nonprofit community, and of those few that do operate, their fees place them well out of the range of most agencies. The "circuit rider" movement of the late 1990's have evolved into the "nonprofit technology assistance providers" (NTAP's) of now. Such organizations and individuals are providing a valuable service and I applaud their commitment, their innovation and their efforts, however, I do not fail to miss that their ascendency in the IT economy---is related to the fact that they operate in something like a service delivery vacuum. Who else can agencies call for IT services if they cannot afford to hire staff, cannot find a volunteer with the kind of expertise they require? At present choices are few, but the talent pool and ethic for service is deep in the community. How can we connect?
Second, agencies will have to provide technology realted mentoring, technology training and technological resources to their populations as facilitators of economic growth and community stability. Working with youth in at-risk and public educational settings, adult learners in college and organizational settings---has led me to the conclusion that we need people to go out to agencies to provide expertise, insight, concern, care and resources to enhance and cultivate the creative, anaylytical and critical thinking skills that youth and career re-trainers both---will need to enter and maintain themselves in the future workforce. Youth are starving for opportunities to use technology in a meaningful way, and agencies desire the ability to better understand and relate the role technology will play in shaping their service delivery goals in the coming decade. We need teacher and technology evangelist, creatives and coding polyglots. We need presenters and mentors.
Third, in the columbus community, there are presently no opportunities to connect technology students and practioners with agencies in a meaningful way. I can name three agencies that collect data by paper and that spend months of work-hours---collating that data to provide it to donors and grant providers. Tech wisdom would say, implement a MiS database, but where is talent to do so? I can tell you from my own exprience, that no local university has a dedicated staff to connecting young technology professionals with ICT related service opportunities, in Columbus, you cannot even find a local NTAP chapter at a local university---which says alot to me about the market. With such a large pool of talent, and a great need for such talent, I hold that we need to connect those with the talent with the agencies in need. Utilizing blogs, wiki tech, cellular tech, for those who want to serve---I believe it would be easy to create a network to those with a need.
YES WE CAN ...WAYS WE CAN MEET IT NEEDS IN COLUMBUS NONPROFIT SECTOR:If you are graphic designer...agencies need websites, brochures and annual review designed...lots of range! If you are a creative in multimedia design----teach a workshop once a year, kids and adults love showing off their creativtyIf You are a programmer---help design agency toolsIf You are A+ certified---take tech calls on site or offIf You are MiS---develop a reporting database system If You are a funder---give more money for technology related goals, help steer resourcesIf You are administrative---volunteer to define and proliferate IT boards at agenciesIf You are Project Mgr---help agencies understand how to define policy to deliver on tech goalsIf you are UI---help agencies understanding usabilityIf you are disabled---become a advocate for agencies to increase accessibility via web and tech routesIf your dance card is full...know that most agencies open labs at evening hours and on weekends, and that some are even open all night.
GETTING TOGETHER If any of this is making sense, and you know you have the talents to play a role, please contact me to take part. I have a place we can meet, have server tech to get started, and a network of agencies that could use our help and would likely welcome us by spreading the word. If successful, we could also start a NPO of our own dedicated to this cause through local innovation grants.
If you believe you can play a role, or know folks who might want to, be in touch or pass this along...
Looking Forward.Lance Odittlanceoditt@gmail.com

You can start now.I am also inviting you to come to our first group (7CD34) meeting on Wednesday at 7:00 pm, on 801 East 4th St/Hewitt L.A. CA 90013. Please come this Wed. 9/17/08, before 7pm to chat prior to the meeting, call me 213-765-0074, email me at asilocreo@yahoo.com. I am a Data Manager for my group 7CD34 - Deputy Field Organizer, for my 34th Congressional District. A member of the Southern California Latinos for Obama, and active in the battleground efforts in the state of Nevada. The 2008 Presidential Election - which is less than 50 days away - is the best chance we have had to set our country on a new path in 40 years. We have the candidate. We have the support. Our challenge is to organize that support to do what we have to do to win the election. You can get started now.Because Barack Obama's vision is one of shared values, common purpose, and working together to change our country, we can articulate those values, define common purpose and work together - as voters, supporters, volunteers - to build a winning campaign. You can start today."The problem of democracy is not the problem of getting rid of kings. It is the problem of clothing the whole people with the elements of kingship. To make kings and queens out of a hundred million people! That is the problem of American democracy."-F.C. MorehouseThis campaign for change is built upon three principles: Respect, Empowerment, and Inclusion, which is the mantra for our campaign and organizing. I embraced these values almost six decades ago. I am committed to respect myself and others, and include myself in this campaign for mutual empowerment. One of the greatest gifts from Senator Obama to all of his supporters is his clear and detailed statements on the issues that matter to the American people. You can find more policy information on Iraq, Energy, Higher Education, Jobs, Health Care, Labor, Support a Woman's Right to Choose, Foreign Affairs, Defense, Faith, Immigration at www.barackobama.com/issues.My issues are Faith, Labor, Jobs, Healthcare, Women Choice, Education, Immigration.FaithObama laid down principles for how to discuss faith in a pluralistic society, including the need for religious people to translate their concerns into universal, rather than religion-specific, values during debate. In December 2006, Senator Obama discussed the importance of faith in the global battle against AIDS.LaborObama will strenghten the ability of workers to organize unions. He will fight for passage of the Employee Free Choice Act. Obama will ensure that his labor appointees support worker's rights and will work to ban the permanent replacement of striking workers. Obama will also increase the minimum wage and index it to inflation to ensure it rises every year.JobsObama will create an Advanced Manufacturing Fund to identify and invest in the most compelling advanced manufacturing strategies. The Fund will have a peer-review selection and ward process based on the Michigan 21 Century Jobs Fund, a state-level initiative that has awarded over $125 million to Michigan businesses with the most innovative proposals to create new products and new jobs in the state. HealthcareObama's Plan to Cover Uninsured Americans: Obama will make available a new national health plan to all Americans, including the self-employed and small businesses, to buy affordable health coverage that is similar to the plan available to members of Congress. The Obama Plan will create a National Health Insurance Exchange to help individuals who wish to purchase a private insurance plan. The Exchange will act as a watchdog group and help reform the private insurance market by creating rules and standards for participating insurance plans to ensure fairness and to make individual coverage more affordable and accessible. Insurers would have to issue every applicant a policy, and charge fair and stable premiums that will not depend upon health status.Support a Woman's Right to ChooseObama understands that abortion is a divisive issue, and respects those who disagree with him. However, he has been a consistent champion of reproductive choice and will make preserving women's rights under Roe v.Wade a priority as President. He opposes any constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court's decision in that case. Higher EducationObama will create the American Opportunity Tax Credit, which will make college affordable for all Americans. This universal and fully refundable credit will ensure that the first $4,000 of a college education is completely free for most Americans, and will cover two-thirds the cost of tuition at the average public college or university and make community college tuition completely free for most students. ImmigrationObama wants to preserve the integrity of our borders. He supports additional personnel, infrastructure and technology on the border and at our ports of entry. Obama believes we must fix the dysfunctional immigration bureaucracy and increase the number of legal immigrants to keep families together. "It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to where we are today, but we have just begun. Today we begin in earnest the work of making sure that the world we leave our children is just a little bit better than the one we inhabit today."-Barack ObamaThe story of Obama for America is the path our candidate has followed - starting with his roots, and his childhood in Hawaii and Indonesia, through the South side of Chicago doing community organizing, through his tenure as president of the Harvard Law Review, through the Illinois Senate, now as the Democratic Nominee for President of the USA.My story is the path I have followed - starting with my roots in Puerto Rico, and teenage-hood in New York City, through "El Barrio", Boricuatown in Manhattan doing community organizing, through my tenure as English-Spanish translator of the San Francisco Immigration Court, and home business as translator-writer for political refugees and asylees, and now online business as creative political and spiritual writer-translator, as well as community and political activist in Downtown Los Angeles, CA.The key to my motivation is understanding that my values inspire action through emotion. My emotions inform me of what I value in myself and in the world and enable me to express my motivational content to others. In other words, because I experience them emotionally, my values are what actually do move me to act, not just think I ought to act. I am an emotional womyn, highly motivated to do all that I can do to look after my six grands, three children, myself and others."To exaggerate is to weaken."-Jean Francois de la HarpeIn all of the Presidential elections that have happened since 1789, several have been elections of note: 1796 (Thomas Jefferson & John Adams were within 3 electoral votes of each other), 1860 (Abraham Lincoln), 1940 & 1944 (FDR's third & fourth terms respectively), 1960 (Kennedy & Nixon's first televised debate), 2000 (hanging chads) ... And when the history books are written, 2008 will be listed among them. Barack Obama has audacious plans to change the electoral map. You can be part of it."Our country, right or wrong. If right, to be kept right; when wrong, to be put right."-Carl SchurzIf you have any questions please call me and/or email me anytime. You can't win a debate or bring about a discussion if nobody takes the discussion seriously. Too many people simply ignore alternative views, and often merely bad mouth, name-call, and mock people with other political stances. Also, How can we reach people who are just getting interested in politics, who have only been influenced by negative propaganda but not by rationality? I have created a group for this very purpose.
With the proper discussions, I have faith that we would choose the best Candidate; I have faith that our Candidate is right, and therefore with proper discourse on the actual issues we could bring others to the same conclusions. I have created a group for opening up that middle ground. Please, join up and share your views with the members (must have/create a myspace account to be able to join).

Hello New Smyrna for Obama,
We're up against it again with another battleground skirmish in Indiana and NC.
This one is so reminiscent of previous chances to put the nomination away that you are needed more now then ever before and Indiana is the place.
It's so easy to help Barack directly in Indiana by phoning from home with the numbers and dialog, supplied real time if you wish, on you're my.barackobama.com page. Just log on, scroll down and select 'call Indiana'. It will guide you through the rest.
I do understand that many of you put in long days and just don't have the time and energy during the week but a few calls this weekend could make a big difference.
For those of you that are continually over worked and under timed, there's another option right here in your New Smyrna for Obama group. Fundraising is key to this thing and any, and I mean any, donation of $1, $5, $10, $25 (or if we get very fortunate, more) is of great help to Barack. (Those of you that donated at the group site recently, I know your tapped out and your generous $$ are greatly appreciated.)
Please support our group and Barack by donating to his cause in any amount at our group link:
As a little gift 'back at ya' for donating, head to our group blog at:
Please help!
YES WE CAN!!
A Maine based website has been created as a communication/information hub for Maine Obama supporters and can be accessed at:
http://teammaineforobama.googlepages.com
Team Maine for Obama is a group that was started by a small number of individuals from Knox and Lincoln county who are:
"working to secure Barack Obama's nomination and election
as President of the United States through activities in Maine and elsewhere supporting his candidacy."
Please check out the site! There are great resource pages for writing letters to the editor and op-eds, countdowns for upcoming primaries, links to Obama for America home pages, much of the latest online news, blogs, articles, etc. Suggestions, comments, and contributions are welcomed! Just click the "Email Team" link and let's continue to strengthen our sense of the community and unity in the great state of Maine!!!
I will be more than happy to add pages to help provide central locations for meeting minutes, activity planning, etc. for other local groups.
As Margaret Mead said,"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
Join us and Barack the Vote in '08!
Hey,
So I'm a member of all these teen-based groups, but I was wondering how practical it is for us teens who support Obama to be split up into various groups all with the same goal... Perhaps we could just create one universal group for teenagers across the U.S. and the world who want to support Obama in every way that he/she can. It seems to me that it would be more beneficial if we could all be posting blogs on the same group as opposed to switching through multiple. We would be able to increase our strength in numbers and have more potential for hosting/participating in teen-initiated obama-fan events and fundraisers. I don't mind creating a group, but I was wondering what others think of the idea?

Hello all members of the New Smyrna for Obama group!!
I see many new names on the group listing.. That's great!!
Please take a minute to say hi on the blog and get on my friends list so we can get messages out and your ideas in to all members and friends quickly.
It looks like we're going to have a re-vote so it's critical we get organized and get our lines of communications open!!

It’s interesting, I’m starting hear the term “cult” used when referring to the organized support for the Obama campaign. Ironically from the GOP side; yes the group of people who are best known for their methodical collective of ignorance. I truly believe that we the Obama supporters have come to terms with the fact that we need a collective force, a hard hitting and yes, almost cult-like force. I am in no delusion about the reality of what could happen if Obama were to get into the White House. He could be another Jimmy Carter. However unlike Carter; Obama has a great instinct about the world and the understanding of what it takes to mobilize people and resources which then can translate into votes for policy changes. Let it be known, our so-called “cult” does not follow a leader, but is built from the collective force of the masses; this is the future, where people interconnected can set the tone and bring the force and focus to a message and a campaign. This is true social politics.
Well we've had our first successful meeting of Senator Obama supporters this past week! Yippee! And what's even better is we've having a 2nd one next week! About 17 people organized all over the internet!
