When intelligent Libertarians examine Barack Obama they see his high intelligence and intellect as an asset for rational thinking. Combined this with his background as a civil rights lawyer and constitutional law professor who's favorable to voluntary, free community organization, and who as a Senator, took a daring stand against the Iraq War -- it becomes easy to see that Barack Obama is more "libertarian" than not.
A general definition of a libertarian is: "A libertarian is a person who upholds the principles of individual liberty, smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom."
Barack Obama's background favors many principles held by libertarians and Libertarian Party members.
Obama has the "libertarian" advantage over McCain (or Bob Barr for that matter):
-OBAMA Upholds the principals of individual liberty:
Advantage, Obama. For libertarians, Obama's heart seems to be in the right place overall. Here are some of the principals of individual liberty which Obama supports and John McCain does NOT:
-OBAMA Wants smaller government:
Advantage, Obama. Obama's favorable to withdrawl and ending the Iraq [war] occupation saving taxpayers $100 billion+ in war spending. McCain talks a good game on against earmarks and other wasteful spending. But, as Bleeding Heartland points out, the cost of earmarks in 2007 was about $17 billion. The cost of the Iraq war, which McCain wants to both continue and expand, is about $165 billion. And earmarks don't breed new government programs that destroy our civil liberties.-OBAMA Supports lower taxes:
Advantage, Obama wants to lower taxes for MORE people (about 90-95% of taxpayers) that is everyone making less than $200,000 but raise taxes for those making over $250,000. McCain wants to lower taxes for the rich, and lower them less than Obama for the middle class. A hybrid plan would be nice, but unless you are in the "millonaire bracket" Obama's tax plan favors more people overall than McCain and one of McCain's top advisers recently said that, if elected, McCain plans to raise taxes too. (Historical Reminder: Republican George Bush Sr. said, "Read my Lips - No New Taxes" but eventually raised taxes after he was elected.)-OBAMA Wants more personal freedom:
Advantage, Obama. Only one major candidate is pro-choice, against a ban on flag burning and wants to soften drug laws and reduce the use of mandatory minimum sentences.
There's my Youtube video why I'm voting for Barack.

1. If the ((Oil Companies)) were electing a president McCain would win hands down!2. Mr. McCain Claims to be best commander and chief. So please commander tell the American people how your needless war Bankrupted America!3. Mr. McCain Claims to be a expert on foreign policy? So Please John tell the American people what foreign country their jobs went to!4. IF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE VOTE FOR OBAMA!! THEY WILL BE VOTING FOR ((MADE IN AMERICA)) NOT ((MADE IN CHINA))!!!!!!!-Written by: T.W.D., 09/21/08
This article is a publicity stunt, by Karl Rove, to accomplish at least three things:
1. Make it look like the GOP really is at odds with McCain, and therefore McCain really will bring change to Washington.
2. Truly warn McCain to tone down the negativity of his adds because they are making him look bad.
3. Scare Obama away from being more aggressive, which he actually needs to be.

Hii All
I am in high spirits to share with you this portion of information especially for young people who’s their future is being defined by this campaign. Take politics aside and first ask yourself this question; who will make this world better place in the next 8 years and why? The answer is clear like this: Barack Obama is the kind of President the world need now because the best approach needed is in him; Facing real enemies with the well planned diplomacy can yield a best result to both America and the world in many ways. In order to know a person better, you need to sit down with him and talk and this is the best way to know how dangerous your enemy is, and this is what Obama will do. Obama will turn American adversaries to American friends and allies. Proof me wrong fours year after he is elected president.
And this why I judge Obama is a true leader for America
1. For America and the world, Obama will be the right example in bridging the racial differences across America and the world. I am not an America but what I know is that, when Marine goes to war they bled as American but not as people of any color. Young people need to move beyond this notion and to support Obama as symbol of generational change, unity, courage and devotion to the future of America as nation and the world that need solidarity at this stage.
2. I believe Obama is a true hero because bringing poor people from the South Side of Chicago to know what they are doing is a clear vision every America and other concern world citizen should take to support the needy. Because America is the most generous nation in the world, it should show that caring for the poor is a priority and this is what symbolizes the generous America. Obama had shown that very clear in the South Side of Chicago.
3. Being Civil Right lawyer is another big example people should know about him as a true hero who helped people to face a true justice in the free country. Obama stood up for the people who were not able to represent themselves in the court of law and won many cases, these are the characteristics of a true leader who care for his nation and recognize people first.
4. Political Ads may play a big hand to give the wrong information but for me as foreigner, who lives thousand miles out of US, I do consider the legitimacy of your support and other young people across America and the world as not for rhetoric as critics predicts but for what he had done so far.
5. As young person, I need a peaceful world and the world we will consider ourselves as brothers and sisters bearing the God image. To love ourselves and our nations and believe again that this world is going to a right direction.
May God almighty keep all those volunteers in this campaign safe? May all young people helping since the beginning of this campaign last 19 months ago be well as November approaches? I have always visiting this website everyday and watched TV everyday just to offer my support as I will not vote but have a chance to tell you what is better.
You have done but come out in big numbers and knock doors to inform the undecided voters tell your friends and wish all of you good lack
Make the history happen Obama-Biden 2008
God bless you all
Don't let McCain, or Palin, get under your skin. Stay positive all the time, but strike hard.
Don't let the digust of same-old GOP tactics steal your toungue. Expose them, and communicate it with all levels of society.
BUDDY THE HORSE GOES BUGGY FOR OBAMA
I am traveling by Horse and buggy http://hometown.aol.com/vote4barackobama/myhomepage/election.html
I am seeking supporters who will let me stay at their properties over night as i tie buddy to the rear of buggy and he eats hay and sleeps. Stalls are great too and so are fenced fields of green grass. Thats buddys favorite thing. He loves to run and kick his hind legs in the air above his head height as he frolicks with freedom in a pasture.
I do seek to help more in rural appalachia and not big cities as Buddy is not fond of the traffic and Barack has lots of city support.
I also seek someone to do logistics in arranging to find me these locations as i travel south for the winter.
Presently i am in Lancaster county Pa. 5 miles south. I can be shipped by uhaul to cover distances if needed. I seek no pay just help along the way.
PS: My arm was broken 3 1/2 weeks ago and i am almost ready to leave this old dairy barn this weekend and help the campaign.
hugs Danielle Clarke
NOTE: This is about BUDDY GOING BUGGY FOR OBAMA not Danielle and please email me at vote4barackobamaATaolDOTcom but please be serious and helpful asi get too many emails of simple supprt while what i need are emails with logistical help.

Go to the above site. Use the information there to create talking points. People, we CAN win the war of words against McCain. We just need to flood the media with the TRUTH.
The truth is that it will take YEARS to get oil out of the Gulf of Mexico. By that time, we could have created a million new jobs at home -- by investing in solar, wind, and other renewable energy products.
Enjoy.

I still have not got the bad taste out of my mouth that was left by last night's elections in Ohio and Texas. Yes, I know we still lead in pledged delegates and will probably make up what we lost in Wyoming and Mississippi. Yes, I know, that we are still on track to the nomination.
But here is the problem as I see it. Texas and Ohio showed vulnerability. Her negative attacks and negative press worked and it stemmed our tide. As well as the Muslim stuff.
Now is not the time to say, "Doesn't matter we are still going to win!" and leave it at that. Some say we need to start pushing harder against Clinton, bringing up some of the low points in her career, of which there are many. To some this sounds like going negative. I don't think I subscribe to that line of thinking, but I recognize a slippery slope when I see one.
We need to fundamentally change the conversation, change it in our favor, get everyone talking while at the same time, dramatically dispelling the "solutions not speeches" campaign. Looking at the exit polling from Ohio last night, Clinton won the question of, who has a more clear plan? Why is this true? We all know that the Blueprint for Change is as clear a plan as any out there, probably even more clear than Clinton's.
The Blueprint for Change can dramatically change the course of this movement. It is sleek, sexy, and full to the brim with the ideas that Barack is bringing to the table. It looks good, sounds good. I can hardly imagine an undecided voter taking a look at it and not swinging for Obama. It should be as widepread and known as "Yes we can!" Think about it...everyone knows that we chant "Yes We Can!" But I promise you a large portion of our own supporters don't know about the Blueprint, and I guarantee that the electorate as a whole doesn't know about it.
Think what would happen if we gave away copies like candy. At the huge rallies, Barack just picks up a stack and tosses it to someone in the crowd and instructs them to start passing it around. (hehe) Imagine if we gave everyone of those 11,000 + it always seems to be, people a copy of the Blueprint, told them to read all or part of it, and then pass it on to an Undecided voter or a friend. The Blueprint has the possibility of being a phenomena, with everyone passing around copies, people hearing about it and downloading their own, printing one off and passing it around. What if Barack talked about it in a debate, on the trail, to reporters? Everyone would go, "He actually knows what the hell he is going to do to actually change things? Oh...." It would literally silence the biggest criticism of his campaign.
Think about it... we are fighting a battle we by all rights, should not even be fighting. We have a plan yet we are letting them dominate the conversation by saying we don't!
Talk about it in your calls, tell your family and friends, but more importantly, e-mail Barack and HQ, tell them to give the Blueprint center stage for the rest of this primary season! It will provide us with the substance we need to fight the fights taking place in the minds of undecided voters. Hell, Blueprint for Change just sounds cool. This movement should be centered around Barack, you, me, and this document, and how all four of us are going to shatter the status quo.

I really got a kick out of the rally today at the 1st Mariner Arena in downtown Baltimore. I'll write more about it later. For now, at least, I'll say that I feel like I witnessed a significant event in American history this afternoon. What an exciting night this is, on the eve of the Potomac primaries - it sort of reminds me of Christmas Eve when I was a kid.

Students at Claflin University, a historically black college in Orangeburg, S.C., are accusing the school's administration of prohibiting them from forming a "Students for Barack Obama" chapter, yet simultaneously compelling them to attend a press conference supporting his chief rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, Sen. Hillary Clinton. In fact, several students who serve as volunteers on Obama's presidential campaign tell FITSNews that they were coerced into holding Clinton signs and standing behind State Sen. John Matthews, who unveiled Clinton's higher education plan at a press conference held at the school last week.About three weeks ago, an honors student at Claflin University says she approached the administration about establishing a Students for Barack Obama chapter at the school. The student was told that she and fellow students could not form such a group on campus, but no reason was given for the school's decision.ETC ETCETC
Which would probably explain some of the unenthusiastic expressions visible in this photograph

We at the SFBO blog team would like to extend our congratulations to new California State Coordinator, Natalie Rojas. Natalie, a student at the University of California at Santa Cruz, is an active member of the Santa Cruz County Democratic Central Committee, as well as the College Democrats - and serves in the leadership of both.
"California is a very forward-thinking, progressive state," said Natalie. She said that Obama understands the needs of students - from health care to the environment.
Natalie plans to campaign throughout California in order to spread our candidate's message of change. She acknowledges that there are some obstacles that she needs to overcome, but she's ready to work for success. It's clear that with the help of talented people like Natalie, this movement is changing the way that politics is done.
