On Tuesday, 20th, OFA volunteers will gather at " Time to Deliver" call parties and neighborhood outreach events across the country.
Our goal? 100,000 calls to congress placed or commited to in single day. It's an ambitious goal, but the stakes couldn't be higher-and if we hit it, we cannot be ignored.
President Obama will be joining a call party and then speaking directly to all the other events that evening via an exclusive live webcast, sharing the latest info on the fight for reform and our campaign for change.
We need volunteers to help out at our Central Washington state fair booth in Yakima, Washington especially September 25 to October 2, 2009. The times available change very quickly but they will be between 11 am to 10 or 11 pm. You and your friend will each receive a FREE fair pass for each four hours volunteer time. So go to www.barackobama.com and click on the evens like to RSVP you and your friend NOW...

It seems to me that during the election and right after the election, everyone was excited and ready to get things done. Now it seems like it's hard to even find a meeting in which people can get together and discuss how we can help make changes happen. I am not finding any events in my area or people that would be willing to come to an event if I were to host one.
I have spoken to people (that said they wanted change) who have given up on our president (who they voted for) and everything we have worked so hard to accomplish. Their reason for this - they have not seen any change. This I can not believe is coming out of their mouths... really. It has been what, just months - MONTHS. Do they have any idea what so ever the amount of clean-up that needs to be done?? Do they really and truly think things will change over night?? Especially since they have given up and that means more work for everyone else to do. These people believed in and voted for Barack Obama. How can they give up so easily? How can they not see the work that needs to be done and their roll in it as an individual that wants change? Why dont they understand? These things frustrate me beyond belief. But the answer is, we need to find a way to help them understand. Help them to see what needs to be done to make change happen. Sometimes people just don't get it, they don't understand, they can't see it. So it is our jobs as American citizens to help our fellow Americans understand. We need to be talking to our friends and neighbors. Tell them to call their senators and tell them what they want for their communities. There are many things we can be doing.
People want change, but it's like they want other people to make it happen for them. This is your country, you want change then stand up and say so. Do something to help make it happen. Those people in office are there working for YOU. You put them there to represent YOUR voice. What is it you want them to say that YOU want??? Tell them what you want. It's what being American gives you the PRIVILEGE to do!
So maybe we are all sitting around thinking the same thing. We 'want' to do something, but we might have questions on how to get started, or how to approach things - or whatever the question might be. That is why we get together and talk about it, put our heads together and come up with great solutions. We are Americans and can accomplish great things - together.
Remember we are the UNITED states of America.
Perhaps because we are best when we come together.
We had lots of participation in our Health Care Matters Day Kick off on June 6, 2009 in San Dimas, CA. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTA86CDHhcI
Our group sprang to existence out of the Obama grass roots campaign. We are currently working on an event on May 9th - Eating Right When Money is Tight. I am trying to create a Sign-in sheet and Evaluation and thought it would be nice to have a logo at the top.
It is gonna be ALL ABOUT shameless SELF PROMOTION! I tell you this so that you may (if you want!) to deal yourself out, were we playin' "Five card Texas Hold 'em"! But we're not, so I hope you'll play along!
As many of you already know, I have an "EVENT" for which you can sign up (and I hope many more of you do; it is VERY EASY to do so; see "events" to the right? A quick search SHOULD yield a result that lists my shameless pluggery!
I am currently LIVING as opposed to the miscontsrued perception of what Hospices are really all about!
They are NOT a place where people "go to die. They are a place where one goes to live, thrive, and in my case, create some of the finest "Artwork" I've ever put out!!

SCHOLARSHIP ALERT:
2009 Tylenol Scholarships
Hello friends,
I am just going to let you how my first time as an event's Host went. To tel you the truth it was not like I expected it to be, but I learned from it, and next time I will be more prepared. We went to a K-Mart store located in Bellflower on Rosescrans and McNab , CA and we could not hand out pledges because for them to let us do so, we have to contact their headquaters, and since it was week-end headquaters was close. Also I expected 8 people who sign up for the event, , and only 6 peoples showed up, only 3 was from the signed up list. and I am wondering if there is something that I did wrong or if the event was not advertized enough. How do people actually get more people. The weather was not favorable so we could not really do much. but it was my first time I guess, I hope next time will be better. I am counting on any of your advises, strategies in how you made your event more successfull. I will be reading your post with interest.
Thank you
Salma

Young and Powerful for Obama: http://www.yp4obama.com/
My hope, prayers and belief in Barack Obama's ability to do a great job running this country caused me to sacrifice many volunteer hours over the last 13 months for his campaign and I was ultimately sent to the battleground state of Ohio where I worked as a Vote Corps Field Organizer. I spent the last 5 consecutive weeks of the presidential campaign in Ohio and helped to turn it into a “Blue State”, literally knocking on thousands of doors and making almost as many phone calls! Unfortunately, there's no way to show that on my Dashboard on this site, but oh well. :-) The experience in Cleveland, OH was probably the hardest, yet most rewarding experience of my lifetime to date, & I’ll probably never be the same!
I titled my bog post "Wow! - MY Road to Change" because of my experiences with this campaign. I am now very inspired to become even more involved in politics and help elect more people who will help to pass laws that are good for our district, our state and our country. I absolutely love what this campaign has done in terms of unity for our country and the world, thus far, and I want to become even more involved because I now realize that, truly, "WE ARE THE CHANGE THAT WE SEEK.” Accordingly, I have applied as a candidate for an Assembly Delegate in my district (AD15). Who knows where that road will lead . . . maybe eventually to me running for President one day! (smile)
So, if you or anyone you know, was a registered democrat in AD15 on or before October 20th, 2008, I solicit your votes on Saturday, January 10th, 10:00am - 12:00noon at the UDC Headquarters, 1501 N. California St., Walnut Creek, CA. I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR VOTE! Check here to see if you're in AD15: http://192.234.213.69/amapsearch/framepage.asp THANK YOU.
I'm annoucing my first online radio broadcast. This one on the "Obama Inauguration". The idea is to have a one-stop, hour-and-a-half tallk show on "How to attend the Inauguration." To that end, I'm inviting people hosting special events to be guests call-ins. Please send an email -- my email is listed at the bottom -- or call at the number below.
I'm also sending a guest invite for those involved in event planning or hotel marketing to call in as a guest. Please email or call me me if you're interested.
Here's the show link, or you can go to http://www.zennie62.com and click on the link there. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Zennie62

With the Senators and Congressmen taking requests from friends and family, many of Obama volunteers and supporters may be left in the cold. So, why not take the lemons and make lemonade? One group here is suggesting to host our own parties. I agree and want to take it one step further (thanks Anthony). I hope the Obama team will use their clout to talk to stadium owners to let supporters watch the inauguration throughout the DC area and the country. That way, we can tailgate; have free concerts; and do not have to spend a lot of money for dress-up clothes.
What are your thoughts?
