Eight years ago, I watched in horror as Cheney met in secret with those same oil and gas companies, and planned our energy future. Which was: The energy path of the past, endless tax breaks for Cheney's friends, and a rosy future for Halliburton. It was the centerpiece of Cheney's criminality (I use the word carefully but with conviction), and the outrage never rose above a whisper. Now, finally, Obama's here to set it right.
He also targetted subsidy of corporate agriculture, and emphasized there will be a fight in store, and he's ready:

And in his Tuesday speech to congress, he raised the battle flag against the biggest direct corporate beneficiary of all: Defense contractors. He wants to scrutinize weapons systems like the F-22 and the "star wars" space shield, systems which have no concievable use in any foreseeable wars or defense of our shores. The M-I complex may lose the free reign they have enjoyed for far too many years.
George Bush was plenty pugnacious too, but for all the wrong causes and usually against all reason. This time we have a president who'll actually fight to restore economic balance in America. And even better: If he succeeds? The whole world is watching, waiting for a leader to show them the way. So, could be that the USA will be only the first of many to benefit, and restore itself to the world leadership role it has lost.

WHO IS THAT GUY BARACK OBAMA? HE IS US.We have made historic headway by together pointing our nation in the right directions. After decades, we have America focused on the issues of fundamental importance. Now, each of us acting in concert can together move our country to lead the world to the fruitfulness of moral goodness. I have no doubts about my abilities and the abilities of fellow Americans to work smart and hard to achieve these goals.Barack Obama has the visions, leadership, and integrity for us to correct and redirect our country to once again lead the world for the fruitions of good. Let's closely listen, learn, and move forward based on that which we know deep inside is good and which we can validate with our hearts. I hope that those who had but a few reasons to support Obama, look further into the other issues more deeply. I found the more I explored, studied, and listened to Obama the more I found us in agreement. The couple of issues that I did not have depth of knowledge of, quickly became obvious in need. This was unusual for me since I have always refused to be any kind of a follower, and still am not. Let’s look at the bad experiences of the past as bitter medicines, let’s eliminate the need for such bad medicine in the future. In Friedman's world - the architect of Reaganomics - Democracy and Free-Markets are a contradiction in terms; diametrically opposed and at odds with each other. Its results: a small elite grow far wealthier while large portions of what had been the working class are discarded from the economy althgether and turned into surplus people.
What should be even more worrisome is that Friedman style, free-market ideology was sold to the Chinese. The Chicago Boys having deemed Democracies as inhospitable to their formula for quenching insatiable greed, China certainly would prove quite the opposite. Just look at the praise it received via the, so called, Olympics. Look where the free-market multi-nationals tend to find attraction and tend to gravitate towards - China and Dubai.
'Operation Iraqi Freedom' should be seen in its true light, for what it really is, a Neoconic cleansing, or 'clearing of the slate' in preparation for Iraqi Friedman!!

A lot of folks have criticized, questioning Obama's character for having rubbed shoulders with folks from the same institution from which Freidman launched his bloody counter-revolution against New Deal policies. But what people don't bother to check is that Obama is completely anti-Friedmanism. Having infiltrated the den of vipers, having discovered the enemy’s strategy, Barack of all peoples is the only one poised to expose them, or at least use their own tools against them for the greater good. I can still hear Barack's words, ringing in my ears, calling for transparency. Although Barack may have brushed shoulders with Friedman's school of financial thugs, does not make him one.
Friedman, along with, Nixon’s Secretary of State, Kissinger should be pointed out for what they are: Criminals wanted for murder! In fact, if Kissinger were to set foot in certain areas of South America, he would immediately be arrested as such and he knows it, thereby forcing him to utilize his 'Free Market Miles' frugally.
**STOP** and get a copy of Naomi Klein's "The Shock Doctrine - The Rise of Disaster Capitalism, read and re-read it while we await election day to arrive. Because, what Naomi brings to light within the pages of her expose, is precisely what WE are voting against in this election; decades of ruthless, predatory abuse of power, with greedy Corporatarch bottom-lines that are soaked with innocent blood, everywhere. Now, the chickens are coming home to roost.

I have been watching more TV than I think I ever have in all of my life (except for the time I ran an X-Files marathon) in an attempt to grasp the financial crisis that we are in. As I entertain the list of reasons for bailout offered by the media's guest financial analysts, economic specialists, and representatives, I have yet to hear anything that sounds even remotely worthy of my support. In fact, a great deal of what I have been hearing has been contradictory, redundant, and unclear.
On September 27th, guest Martin Kady, a congressional corespondent, appeared on C-SPAN to answer questions about the $700 billion corporate bailout. When an informed caller suggested to Mr. Kady that the government should offer bailouts to citizens rather than corporations, Mr. Kady responded that Uncle Sam isn't considering bailout for taxpayers who haven't been paying on their loans. He said this mind you, only after claiming that we needed the bailout to unfreeze the market - so that people can get more loans. Is it me, or do those two concepts work in direct opposition to one another? Something isn't adding up. It doesn't make sense to blame the citizens for the debt, refuse to contemplate a citizen bailout, offer the bailout to corrupt corporations, and justify it by saying we need to unfreeze the market so the average American can accumulate more loan debt. I'm sorry, but 2+1 does not = 4, and the real number missing from this equation apparently ran off with the real explanation behind capitol hill's push for corporate bailout.
Over the last several days, every channel I turn to offers the same unconvincing rationale behind our supposed need for a bailout. I just can't grasp why my inability to get a loan is reason enough to lend corporate criminals $700 billion to take one last gamble with taxpayers' money. If the lawmaker's on capitol hill actually cared, wouldn't they have done something sooner? Why all of the sudden, are the taxpayers' woes so important? Quite simply, I can't kick the feeling that relevant information is being left out. The ominous question "What is the real reason behind this corporate bailout?", has been hanging over my head like a cloud. After several failed attempts to retrieve a solid explanation from the media, I finally realized I would have to do some research of my own.
I found a site that finally offered some answers that made sense. I am not an expert on the economy, but like I said, it just makes the most sense to me thus far. I highly suggest that those seeking a better explanation for the financial crisis we are in visit the sites I have posted at the end of this blog. I haven't checked the site's references yet, but as I do, if anything appears suspicious I will post a blog right away.

Saw your speech today 6/7. You were gracious, historic, elegant, eloquent and noble. As an Obama supporter, I fully understand how I would feel if the situation were reversed. No campaign in my lifetime of 61 has more wholeheartedly been fought. What lies ahead feels like acres of swamp and brambles, regardless McCain is so obviously wrong. Among election discussions, those supporters have incredibly wicked tongues. I think if Obama loses it will be from corporate power, not from race, absence of unity, or any other equally powerful possibility.
To challenge America's corporations that call the shots is not only unprecedented, it's galactic, and our success in it is far more than a matter of funding. Impossible without it, but a frozen monolith without every voice we have, backing it up. We have the fight of all fights ahead, and our intent will be morphed into ugly insinuations. Luckily we have the specificity of Obama, with his stamina, clarifying every crooked arrow as it comes.
The Democratic party leadership has failed us time and time again. I can only hope that they have learned from their previous failures and will not sabotage this election with inept decisions. The worst choice they can make at this time is to force Obama to take Hillary as his running mate. This will surely lose him the election. Edwards is the only viable choice. Mcain is weak. He is a dinosaur who is stuck in the past and will only serve to keep our country in the past. This is the time for the Democratic party to stand up and take back the reigns of this country. With Barack not only can this be done but our country can take strides into the future that will benefit generations to come. Making Hillary the running mate will surely cause Barack to lose many democratic supporters but especially all the people waffling on the fence will surely vote against him. Hillary has proven herself to be a corporate Republican. The only job she has held has been working as a corporate lawyer in a prestigious corporate law firm. She has proven herself to be hungry for power at all costs. The average Democrat does not want her anywhere near the presidential seat of power. Most assuredly she will not get any Republican votes. This all seems like common sense but again... the democratic party leaders have failed us before.
That sermon tonight was absolutely soul-stirring. I had to jump up! I had to scream! I laughed out loud and I slammed my hands on the table, yelling, "Tell it! Truth! Truth!"
Everybody won't get it tonight or tomorrow, and everybody won't get it in the end either. There is the Republican Party filled with all of the worst kind of racists, and then there's those undercover racists posing as Democrats; even former Presidents. Some aren't that obvious, and then some are. Only the truly enlightened can recognize the difference. The good people count on each other to recognize the difference.
You'll read some good reviews, then some hate-filled reviews, and you'll wonder... "What sermond did THEY hear?" That's how you can recognize both the racists and those that are undercover. I wouldn't be surprised if Hillary's campaign weren't adding comments everywhere. I definitely know Republican Party members are for sure.
Please move the conversation away from Rev. Wright and over to the ISSUES that Sen. Obama supports. We can't allow the focus to be on something that's NOT about the politics in this country! There's a war going on and people are dying. Have we actually forgotten about our boys and girls?

Please, let's not lose our focus! This is what the Republicans want us to do! They stand the MOST to lose in this election and they don't care how much it tears this country apart and they definitely don't care about our kids dying in Iraq! WAKE UP PEOPLE AND STOP LISTENING TO FAUX NEWS, ABC, CBS, CNN! They are ALL corporate-owned media and they will lose all of their tax breaks given to them by the Bush administration! They don't want this to change so RECOGNIZE who you're being fed by and turn them OFF!

Barack Obama is an elitist? Really, this guy "Gregory" from MSNBC seems to be the true elitist here and also in the tank for the Clintons. What, did they have a meal with him and convince him that they feel his pain? What a jerk! This guy was so unfair the way he phrased his questions on his new tv program yesterday, and really showed his biased viewpoint at the same time! First of all, I don't see or hear of him doing the kind of community involvement that Barack did. It's true, he did stand up to Bush a few times with his questions, but if he can't see that the Clintons are dirty, dishonest, and bad news for this country, then, he is blinded by something. Just wonder what it is... What I do believe is, that with Barack coming up in the poles recently, the Corporate owned media are getting very nervous because they feel like they will have no control over this man Barack Obama. Just like what happened with Ronald Reagan, they don't want that to happen again. But it is happening again, he's what the people want and no matter how unfairly they take things out of context or replay the played-out Rev. Wright statements, (which btw were not complete), the people still overwhelmingly are not allowing themselves to be side-tracked like in the 2004 election. I think most people have learned from that mistake and are stead-fast!
