President Obama has called on all of us to help support our local communities through service and here's an opportunity for you to get together with some of your former Obama Campaign HQ call/correspondence center colleagues and help our city.

Organizing for America is inviting you to join in service at the 16th Annual Chicago Cares Serve-a-thon on Saturday, June 13. We are among the 8,000 volunteers who have committed to making Chicago a better place by painting, planting, building and beautifying schools across the city.

Together, Serve-a-thon volunteers will help 30,000 Chicago students succeed by transforming their schools into vibrant places to learn and grow. Volunteering is always more fun when we do it together, and as Team Captains, we are trying to recruit as many former campaign colleagues as we can to assist in this effort.

Please join one of our teams today and volunteer to make Chicago a better place!

The registration deadline is Monday, June 8 (or whenever the event reaches capacity) so visit www.chicagocares.org to register today. Be sure to select "Join a Team" and search for one of our teams when you do so:

There is a $30 fee per participant.

Participants must be 12 years old on June 13, 2009, and until age 17 they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

House Party December 13, 2008

For the People! By the People! We had a great event here on Sunday at my house. With eight people in attendance we were comfortable in the living room and not crowded. My daughter Alexa and her friend Taylor made chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookies for us and we sat around the Christmas tree and discussed our issues and ways to help our communities. We talked about a lot of things here at the event with all of our issues seeming to be wrapped up mostly around the economy and the idea that if we fix the economy then we can get the rest of the problems fixed. Healthcare, foreign policy, the environment and ethics in politics seemed to be major themes as well. We discussed doing a few different community service events such as a food drive or an inauguration ball with profits to go to the people in our community who need the help the most. Read More »

Community Service

Sept 13, 2008... We're hosting a community event for health and safety awareness for kids of all ages here in Orlando. Everyone is invited-we're serving up free refreshments all day-hot dogs, chips and soda-photo ID for kids, basketball toss, inflatable "bouncy house", fire safety demo, free car wash by the Boy Scouts.

We feel we are the core of American society, blue collar America and would love to have Obama or any and all supporters attend (even if I have to cook 1000 hot dogs that day!) Our facility is your facility, we're behind Obama all the way. 704-649-9226 cell to call.

One of our tenants has beautiful Obama T Shirts silkscreened from a painting done and we're proud to wear them.
