I have had the opportunity to work for President-Elect-Obama in two States, Tennessee and Indiana. On November 4, although I voted in Tennessee, I have been working for the last year
and half in Indiana. The county and city and state of my youth went blue for the first time in
40 years! Thanks to everyone who helped in this effort.
Just got an invitation to a "BLUE BASH" for tomorrow. WRONG! Someone did not get the full extent of Barack Obama's vision. We are not red or blue ... we are UNITED. We need to understand PURPLE. In the words of a famous Republican, Mr. & Ms. partisan person, tear that wall down!
Let's celebrate the future of America TOGETHER because we need every single person on board to make the changes we need in order to have a future. No more clubs of "us against them" We MUST END THIS MENTALITY ONCE AND FOR ALL. We need everyone on the same page. I see an America where there are NO MORE invitations to Democrat or Republican events ... UNITED WE STAND. How about an "I LOVE AMERICA" party? With all viewpoints invited. What part of that do labelers, dividers and cliques not undertand? Let's move into the 21st centure - it is no longer every man for himself. GREED IS NOT GOOD !! There is no "trickle down" if the water is turned off altogether.
Maybe one day we will have one party ... full of liberals & conservatives & opposing opinions. Barack Obama teaches us that we do not have to agree in order to work together. We find common ground and build from there, because if we are HUMAN, there is common ground. We need a leader who understands this - we all need to understand this.
We can do it, Indiana. For over a month I've seen McCain/Palin signs all over the streets here in Hamilton County. Well, the Obama store must have finally caught up, because my huge blue street sign arrived, as must have for countless others. Last evening I saw new Obama/Biden signs out on front lawns all over my area.
Indiana is teetering blue, and we can do it!
EVERY SINGLE VOTE MATTERS. Please talk to everyone you know about the importance of this election! Tell them Barack's vision as president is for the middle class. Tell them taxes will not go up for families earning under $250K. Tell them it's about job creation, healthcare, education, and being able to retire. Tell them it's about fixing the economy destroyed by Bush and his ally John McCain.
Make sure to VOTE EARLY, and encourage others to VOTE EARLY as well.
INDIANA FOR OBAMA. LET'S TURN THIS STATE BLUE!!

How to do the Texas Blue Step:
Step 1. Vote Obama
Step 2. Vote Blue
Okay, Texas.....this is it.....starting Monday........ Do NOT let the color RED fool you. This year is THE year to show everyone that our votes matter....for Obama AND our House. Seriously. I do recall our awesomeness during the whole Two Step primary.........um, hence, the evolution and sequel, THE BLUE STEP. Genius. If this doesn't get me an agent, I don't know what will.
More to come on this blog and my site. Stay tuned.....and tell all of your friends....
Rocknroll,

My most recent miniature oil portrait of Barack, currently available on Ebay. A great way to purchase a very nice and detailed original portrait of Barack at an affordable price.
I'm a published artist and gallery exhibited artist, but perhaps of interest to visitors is that I'm the creator of the formerly Right-Wing conservative Christian Faithmouse cartoon which during the past year has taken a non-partisan tact. A number or my Barack Obama paintings/portraits appear in top results in GIS.
About Faithmouse
I take requests for paintings and cartoons as well; the Faithmouse Megathread on Something Awful is a good place to view some of this recent work.
Anyone is welcome to post the above image to their own blog, sites or forums.
I'm as guilty as anyone for using my blog space to spew and cry about the foul tactics of the Republican Party.
In the end, this election is going to come down to the electoral college votes in the swing states. Whether you live in a swing state or not, we must do everything we can to help these states turn BLUE for the Democratic Party.
BARACK AND JOE NEED THESE ELECTORAL COLLEGE VOTES TO WIN THE ELECTION!!
Please, everyone, take action now. If you haven't done so already, go to the homepage on this website for your state. Find your local field office and call them to see what you can do to help. Maybe it's a phone bank or registering voters. Maybe it's a mail campaign, canvassing a neighborhood, hosting an event, or writing letters to the local and national press. Maybe it's driving voters to the polls on election day.
We need to do everything we can to win this election.
Even though it may not look like it or feel like it, you are making progress.
Continue working towards progress instead of perfection.
Nothing or no no one is perfect.
Just keep taking steps.
Keep making those phone calls.

I by no means posted this for use to start partying because we still have alot of work to do in order to get Obam into the White House and get Obama's message out to folks who want to know but don't or are on the fence due to misinformation. I just want to prove the point that we cannot focus on the media polls. They can be manipulated to give whatever message they want to give for the day. it is my thought process that they [media] are keeping this election close for ratings and relovence. The only numbers that matter are the Electoral Votes.
With all the breathlessness over the minute movements in the irrelevant national polls, the one thing no one seems to be noticing is that the electoral map is still trending very poorly for John McCain (R).
I realize that it cuts against the media narrative right now to focus on anything that doesn't suggest a dead-heat, but it's quite instructive to see how the independent groups (and even right-leaning ones) currently see the state of the race through the only prism that matters -- the Electoral College:
Obama McCain MarginReal Clear Politics 322 216 Obama +106Electoral-Vote.com 316 209 Obama +107FiveThirtyEight.com 303 235 Obama + 68Pollster.com 284 147 Obama +137 AVERAGE 306 202 Obama +104
Obama McCain Margin
AVERAGE 306 202 Obama +104
If you think about the reporting of the fluctuating state polls lately that show a tight race, all of them involve red states that McCain can't afford to lose: Colorado, Montana, Virginia, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, Alaska, Georgia, etc.
Despite the media narrative that a number of blue states are competitive, the truth is none of the recent polling shows McCain making any significant inroads in the blue states. Consider:
So, while the media breathlessly reports the national tracking polls which shows a close race, the state polling is still showing a pretty significant Obama lead.
P.S. -- Again reminding us how big of a joke CNN's political reporting has become, their current electoral map has it Obama 221, McCain 189. What a farce.
I hope this motivates people to get out there and do all you can...we need all we can get!
Can we wear all Democratic Blue-colored clothing on Election/Voting Day? Could this be created as an online event?
Anyone with an answer can reply.
Thank you!
Like the man said, Take the Fight to the GOP!

With Bob Barr in the race, Senator Obama and Senator McCain are in a statistical dead heat according to the most recent polling data. The demographics of this large Southern state may present the perfect storm for turning a red state blue! Read for yourself:

Just found a terrific article from fellow South Carolinian Linda Hansen, commenting on Senator Obama's campaign for the Huffington Post's Off The Bus coverage. I feel a CHANGE in the wind. With only 144 days left before the election, it's time for every committed supporter to mulitply their efforts. Let's make this happen!

The Daily Kos is reporting (see the very last, parting comment of the blog post above) that the Obama camp is planning on declaring victory on May 20.
If so, it's an interesting and bold move unless Hillary is poised (just post WV but before KY to concede) and she may very well be. While it's presumed she'd win Kentucky, she's broke.
Can I suggest that we all keep a red, white and blue ribbon (whether it is one ribbon with all three colors or three ribbons - one of each color pinned together) handy and pin it on when we hear of the announcement? Sort of a solidarity and celebratory commemoration of how far Barack's campaign has come? It's all three colors to indicate that we are NOT blue states and red states but that we have a nominee for the United States of America.
I wish I could post the pics of my van with the Obama signs painted on. If you want to have a look, send me an email at gheathnurrse@yahoo.com and I will send jpg's of them back to you. You will see the red, blue, and black paint on a white van driven by a white man to support a black man into the White House. WHAT A COUNTRY! :)
I wish I had the gas to drive to PA and following primaries. It is a full size 4-wheel drive so it rises above most traffic, even most SUV's!

Looks like the NY Times and a couple others in the media are starting to draw similar conclusions that I had in my last blog post. Senator Obama is now campaigning directly against fear. He has the right message to counter fear but it does take one on one connections and lots of time to be successful. Voters swayed by messages of fear are so dangerous because they will jump ship so fast and support someone who may in reality hurt them in the long run. Hope and the positive statement Yes We Can got us far but I propose an additional message - Fight Fear.

Thanks to Marc who commented on my first Obama or Bust post. He mentioned that Senator Clinton's suggestion that she can win the big states is not so powerful when you consider those states are consistently blue in elections, yet the recent Democratic Party candidates still lost with those states solidly in their camp. We need a candidate that pays attention to and gets vote in the mountains, the midwest and south as well as the northeast and pacific coast. In almost all of those 'red' states Senator Obama has beaten Senator Clinton by a significant 60% to 40% split and double or tripled voter turnout. Senator Obama has a 50 state strategy. Senator Clinton will again seek to spread fear and divide the country just like we have endured with President Bush for the last 8 years.
We can do better. Fight Fear. Usher in Hope. Yes We Can. Vote Obama
We have all seen for ourselves the tremendous energy and solidarity that Senator Obama has pumped into the current US presidential elections. First-time voters feel electrified and energised by Barack Obama’s message of change in such a way that they want to be part of this process. This also applies to those who have voted previously.
Senator Obama is bringing together the blue states and the red states to serve a common purpose of bringing about real change in the USA. Ask any republican on who they would rather vote for within the Democratic Party and the answer is BO. The reason is simple; in that Senator Obama has changed the way people perceive politics. In the past and even present, politics has been a dirty game where candidates participate in mud-slinging and throwing-the-kitchen-sink strategies. In this dirty game, politicians accept huge handouts from lobbyists who have vested interests in getting "their" candidate in the white house. Effectively, this is what Senator Obama wants to bring down the curtains on. We need more transparency and accountability in today's politics. That is why Senator Obama's campaign has not accepted a single nickel from the so-called lobbyists. This is surely a new chapter in politics.
We now need to participate in influencing the outcome of this US presidential campaign. We don't want to be telling our future generations that we nearly did it. We want to do it for them and for us too. We want to look back in the next few years and see real change in the USA, especially within future White House administrations. And that's why we need to donate generously and also offer to volunteer to support Senator Obama achieve his vision from Nov 08.
Now that Kosovo is automomous what is the UN going to do to ensure peace and anti-separitist views??????
Delaware, Louisiana, and Missouri are all battleground states that ran primaries (not caucuses) that he won. In Missouri, the turnout for this year's democratic primary (1.4 mill) was 52% of the TOTAL turnout (dem+rep) for the 2004 general election (2.7 mill).
Look at the red states. Alabama was a primary state that Obama won, and the numbers there are amazing. The democratic primary this year had turnout numbers that reached 59% of the TOTAL (dem+rep) turnout for the 2004 general election. Georgia, another red state, ran a primary, and Obama won...
Yes we can win red states!
Here is a state-by-state breakdown of the numbers for the red states that we have shown a competitiveness in this year (Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, Kansas, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia). Obama won all but two of these states! Check out the numbers...
